I needed new payroll software after my old source ceased offering their product. I wanted something that was intuitive, easy to use and had only what I needed. Suffice it to say I kissed a lot of frogs before I found Medlin. It is everything I wanted. Recently, I had to transfer the program to new computer as the old one up and died. I lost the license key. Medlin emailed me the key within 5 minutes. WOW! The transfer was easy, my data had previously been saved and I was up and running if minutes.
I started using Medlin Software back in the 80's or 90's for my movie theater, it was a great not filling out paper accounting it was so much faster and printer my checks. I started a new business in middle of 2000's all i had todo was update the software.
I just wanted to express how pleased I am using Medlin Software programs for many years! I'm a small business in NJ using their payroll and accounts payable (with check writing) programs without any problems. They have made these aspects of my business so much easier with the efficiency and low cost provided by their company. I appreciate all the hard work to keep up with all the changes throughout the years. Thank you for a great product!
I've been using Medlin for about 6 years, and while their product has been great, my experience with customer service today/night was disappointing. When I reached out for help for the first time, the responses I received were rude and condescending. This experience has left me frustrated, and I'm now reconsidering renewing my service with them.
I have been using Medlin software for 25+ years. I have always loved the ease of this program. I have used payroll, accounting and invoicing and love them all. Keep up the great work Medlin!!!! I recently ran into an issue with my id & registration key not working. It was the weekend so I certainly didn't expect an answer until a business day. To my surprise they responded & resolved my problem. What a breath of fresh air! Thank you!
I have been using Medlin Payroll Software for nearly 10 years and I'm am SO happy with them! It saves me tons of money from paying "another" very popular software company that didn't used to charge for payroll at all, and now they make you pay yearly PLUS upgrade the software every year! Medlin is so affordable and so reliable AND the customer service is A-1~~ They answer emails almost immediately and are very friendly and helpful! I've told many others about this and I will keep broadcasting it as THE
I have been using Medlin Payroll for 9+ years and have total confidence in their program. I am a nurse by trade and moved home to help with the family business after my father passed away. Having no office or accounting background, I had to learn all aspects of "running a business" and "doing the business" as the only employee. My accountant suggested Medlin as a simple, easy for me to learn & do payroll and I have been using them ever since. I check for updates and do back ups every Monday when doing payro
I've been using Medlin since 2010. I learned about them from my former boss when I decided to go out on my own. I have looked into a couple of the "name brand" payroll software providers and I can say that Medlin is easily the simplest to use and the least expensive. I simply purchase and download the new version each year and update it when it needs it and I have never had an issue. I would definitely recommend Medlin to any small business owner.
I have rarely worked with a software vendor as professional as Medlin. They have never once disappointed me. The speed with which they keep up with IRS revisions and pass them on to their customers is remarkable. Even if the answer is that they are still working on it, they keep up informed. I highly recommend this company.
This is a great company with great customer service - and even more importantly - great software!!!! Excellent value for the price! After six years of using Medlin, we are happier than ever with the software and customer support.
Program and tech support is beyond frustrating. I cannot believe how much is required to get a workable registration code after paying for the update. Then it doesn't save and I have to go through the entire process again. I have used the program for years, but at this point, I think that I need to look elsewhere for my payroll needs.
Medlin is awesome. They always kept me up to date and made doing my payroll so easy. I will recommend them to everyone. I have used Medlin for over 20 years.
Have used Medlin Payroll Software for 15 Years and it makes payroll much easier. You are dealing with regular people who know what they are doing. Simplifies our payroll reporting!
I LOVE THIS COMPANY!! THEY ARE THERE TO HELP WHEN YOU NEED THEM! You could not ask for better people and prices! I tell everyone about this company.I have used them for way over 12 years if not longer with NO COMPLAINTS. Thank all of you at Medlin and God bless!
I've used Medlin Payroll for almost 7 years. They're always accurate and easy to use! I won't use any other program.
I am a customer of Medlin accounting company for over 20 years. Their customer support is no match to any other. Fast support, friendly, helpful.
Been using this program for many years and it's outstanding. Very easy to use and their customer service is amazing. Thank You
I have used the payroll software for 20+ years, hundreds of employees, and never had any problems.
Have used medlin payroll for years. It is easy to use, to file quarterly, print checks. Keep payroll. I would not want to use any other program!
I switched from Quickbooks to Medlin in April of 2023 and have never thought about going back.
It is great payroll company very cost effective and their customer service is very good. I have always received a reply from them the same day of the inquiry. I strongly recommend them for payroll because that what I use for now.
years ago i was quick books user until subscription sky rocketed THEN I DISCOVERED MEDLIN PAYROLL SOFTWARE AND COULD NOT BE HAPPIER. I RECOMEND MEDLIN SOFTWARE FOR ITS EASE OF USE, TIMELY SUPPORT AND AFFORDABLE PRICE. DAVE SOLE PROPRIETOR HOWTEX PAINTING
I'm a small business out of Florida. This is a great lower cost alternative to all the expensive payroll programs out there. Been using it for several years. While it's true they do things via email, they are very attentive and respond very quickly. They are so in tune with all the changes from the IRS and government and implement it quickly into their program. Unfortunately, the IRS/gov changes come in stages and that requires the company to update the program in stages (it's a yearly charge - not per upda
Great software. I am using it for over 10 years. They keep up with most current tax law and send updates as needed and software checks every month for updates. For new users, take some time to understand through help sections and then reach out for support or questions.
Been with your company for many, many years. Great product and great service. Haven't had any problems. Keep up the good work!!
Easy to use payroll software! Been using it for years. Never any issues or problems. Highly Recommend!
Medlin doesn't take phone calls only emails, and are not very helpful when your starting out, so I would find someone who is an actual user of the software that may help you. It's seems easy to use, but admittedly I can't figure out everything!
We've used this a few years where I work and before this year it was pretty good. Things have been awful since early fall when every time I'd launch the program it would redirect me to their website to buy the 2020 version. For the last month there have been constant updates, today it updated twice already. Now instead of launching the program when you click the icon, you're forced to stop what you're doing and look at any messages they think you can't live without immediately. Try printing W-2s this year.
Simple interface but robust features. Easy to use and understand. A+
Terrible service! They want to charge you $50 for a simple tech support phone call. I have lost all of my employees information for the entire year and they will not take a quick phone call to help me recover it. This business is a total joke! Completely inadequate and out dated! I would not recommend this payroll service to anyone! The owner should be ashamed!!! 0 out of 10 Stars!!
Excellent product! I have been using Medlin Payroll for over 20 years and you cannot beat the VALUE! This company ROCKS!!
Top quality expertise and customer service. Always enjoy this payroll software!
Look for a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license, which ensures they’ve passed rigorous exams and meet state requirements. Check for relevant experience in your industry, additional certifications like CFA or CMA, and membership in professional organizations like the AICPA. Verify their credentials through state licensing boards.
Use online directories like the AICPA, CPAverify, or state CPA societies. Search platforms like Yelp or Google for local CPAs with reviews. Ask for referrals from business associates, friends, or financial advisors. Local chambers of commerce can also provide recommendations.
A CPA is a licensed professional who has passed the CPA exam and met state requirements for education and experience. An accountant may lack this certification and could have varying levels of expertise. For complex tasks like tax audits or financial reporting, a CPA is typically more qualified.
Ask about their experience with your specific financial needs, such as tax preparation, small business accounting, or estate planning. Review their website or LinkedIn for case studies or client testimonials. Inquire about their client base to ensure they handle similar financial situations.
Yes, reviews provide insight into a CPA’s reliability, communication, and performance. Check platforms like Google, Yelp, or the Better Business Bureau for client feedback. Look for patterns in reviews, but verify their authenticity, as some may be biased or outdated.
Visit your state’s Board of Accountancy website or use CPAverify.org to check a CPA’s license status. Confirm their license is active and check for any disciplinary actions or complaints. This ensures they’re in good standing and meet professional standards.
Ask about their experience with your financial needs, fee structure, availability, and communication style. Inquire how they handle tax filings, audits, or financial planning. Ask for references or examples of similar work to assess their expertise and fit.
Fees vary based on location, services, and complexity. Basic tax preparation may cost $150-$500, while business accounting or audits can range from $1,000 to $10,000+. Request a detailed fee structure upfront and compare quotes from multiple CPAs.
Yes, many CPAs offer remote services through secure online platforms for document sharing and virtual consultations. Ensure they use encrypted tools for data security. Remote CPAs can be effective if they understand your local tax laws or business regulations.
During consultations, evaluate their ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly. Ask sample questions about taxes or financial strategies and note their responsiveness and clarity. Good communication ensures you understand their advice and fosters a productive relationship.
Beware of CPAs who guarantee specific tax refunds, lack a valid license, or have disciplinary actions on record. Avoid those with poor communication, vague fee structures, or negative reviews highlighting unethical behavior. Always verify their credentials independently.
Large firms offer more resources and specialized teams but may charge higher fees. Solo practitioners often provide personalized service and lower costs but may have limited availability. Choose based on your needs, budget, and preference for personalized attention.
For individuals, annual meetings for tax preparation may suffice. Businesses may need quarterly or monthly check-ins for bookkeeping, tax planning, or financial reporting. Discuss your needs upfront to establish a meeting schedule that aligns with your financial goals.
Yes, many CPAs handle both, but confirm their expertise in both areas. Ask about their experience managing personal taxes and business accounting simultaneously. Ensure they can balance both without compromising attention to your specific financial needs.
Discuss concerns directly with your CPA to resolve issues. If unresolved, check your contract for termination terms. Seek a new CPA by researching reviews, credentials, and referrals. Request your financial records to ensure a smooth transition to a new professional.
