This was my first time not using one of the chain services (H&R Block, Jackson Hewitt, etc.) and I can easily say that I will happily use MMR CPA again for my tax prep. Marie sent out a folder well before I got my tax forms to easily take inventory of the necessary files. Her prices were comparable to the chain services and turnaround time was great as everything was filed within 24 hrs. Admittedly, I was nervous using an independent tax professional for the first time, but MMR CPA has allayed my concerns.
Very helpful and responsive, her assistant was very courteous when I called and Marie called me the next day to schedule an appointment. The appointment started on time and she was very friendly and approachable. After 30 minutes of talking about fees and the way she could help us, we could tell she is very knowledgeable. I'm glad I followed the reviews in here, because after being frustrated with other CPAs, we felt that we found the person we were looking for. I would definitely recommend her to friends,
I've used CPA's in the past and have had bad experiences with them. So I looked online and found MMR CPA. Marie and her colleague is honest, reliable and very on-time with her returns. I can't recommend her/colleague highly enough if you're an individual/run your own small business(es) like me. So hopefully y'all see this review before tax season finishes again this year! I will use her again next year for sure!!!
I have worked with MMR CPA for two years, and have always had a great experience. Ms. Rosier is a well-trained, well-versed CPA; she and her staff are always available and responsive to my questions. I would (and have) recommend MMR to friends and family.
MMR CPA has completed several years of tax services for my business and personal tax needs. They provided my family with above expectation tax services and peace of mind when it come to this sensitive time of year. I highly recommend MMR CPA for you tax services needs and will use them going forward.
Wow, explained what services I was looking for and if they could provide them, I called over the phone. Tax filing, nothing more. The receptionist had poor listening skills and acted scripted until I asked professional questions then she went silent. She had no idea about basic tax answers that she needed to know, as she asked, to better help guide my call? I decided to end that Avenue quickly. No quality on the front end leads me to believe theres nothing good on the back either.
MMR CPA, Inc. provided reliable and efficient service for all of my tax needs (e.g. personal and business). All of the staff is also very courteous and professional. I experienced a rather quick turn around time. I was not disappointed, and I highly recommend them to anyone who is seeking tax services.
I had the opportunity to sit in a nonprofit accounting training facilitated by Marie Rosier. She was outstanding as a facilitator, gave very practical and helpful information, and is definitely an expert when it comes to accounting and finance for small and large nonprofit organizations. I highly recommend her.
My husband Angelo Gonzalez and I have had our taxes done by Marie Rosier for the past two years and have been very satisfied. We definitely recommend her services to others. Sincerely, Mr. and Mrs. Angelo Gonzalez
This is my first year doing business with MMR CPA. I honest couldn't afford to pay for their services. Because I wasn't doing enough business. But they created a plan that would allow them to provide their services while my company continue to grow.
Marie is an excellent professional! Her knowledge and attention to details makes her stand out from those other tax offices. 6 stars in my book
Very professional, prompt, and responsive to questions. Explained to me the various scenarios for my tax return and which would work best for my circumstances. Was referred by another longtime client.
Called to ask for help, but got denied straight away because I am not a customer while I clearly stated that I am a POTENTIAL customer. Is this how this company condone their business? Shouldn?t you be able to guide a potential customer before getting their actual business. Terrible terrible terrible.
She made the whole process smooth and easy as it was my first time filing with a CPA instead of using a commercial preparer. Will be back again next year.
Look for a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license, which ensures they’ve passed rigorous exams and meet state requirements. Check for relevant experience in your industry, additional certifications like CFA or CMA, and membership in professional organizations like the AICPA. Verify their credentials through state licensing boards.
Use online directories like the AICPA, CPAverify, or state CPA societies. Search platforms like Yelp or Google for local CPAs with reviews. Ask for referrals from business associates, friends, or financial advisors. Local chambers of commerce can also provide recommendations.
A CPA is a licensed professional who has passed the CPA exam and met state requirements for education and experience. An accountant may lack this certification and could have varying levels of expertise. For complex tasks like tax audits or financial reporting, a CPA is typically more qualified.
Ask about their experience with your specific financial needs, such as tax preparation, small business accounting, or estate planning. Review their website or LinkedIn for case studies or client testimonials. Inquire about their client base to ensure they handle similar financial situations.
Yes, reviews provide insight into a CPA’s reliability, communication, and performance. Check platforms like Google, Yelp, or the Better Business Bureau for client feedback. Look for patterns in reviews, but verify their authenticity, as some may be biased or outdated.
Visit your state’s Board of Accountancy website or use CPAverify.org to check a CPA’s license status. Confirm their license is active and check for any disciplinary actions or complaints. This ensures they’re in good standing and meet professional standards.
Ask about their experience with your financial needs, fee structure, availability, and communication style. Inquire how they handle tax filings, audits, or financial planning. Ask for references or examples of similar work to assess their expertise and fit.
Fees vary based on location, services, and complexity. Basic tax preparation may cost $150-$500, while business accounting or audits can range from $1,000 to $10,000+. Request a detailed fee structure upfront and compare quotes from multiple CPAs.
Yes, many CPAs offer remote services through secure online platforms for document sharing and virtual consultations. Ensure they use encrypted tools for data security. Remote CPAs can be effective if they understand your local tax laws or business regulations.
During consultations, evaluate their ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly. Ask sample questions about taxes or financial strategies and note their responsiveness and clarity. Good communication ensures you understand their advice and fosters a productive relationship.
Beware of CPAs who guarantee specific tax refunds, lack a valid license, or have disciplinary actions on record. Avoid those with poor communication, vague fee structures, or negative reviews highlighting unethical behavior. Always verify their credentials independently.
Large firms offer more resources and specialized teams but may charge higher fees. Solo practitioners often provide personalized service and lower costs but may have limited availability. Choose based on your needs, budget, and preference for personalized attention.
For individuals, annual meetings for tax preparation may suffice. Businesses may need quarterly or monthly check-ins for bookkeeping, tax planning, or financial reporting. Discuss your needs upfront to establish a meeting schedule that aligns with your financial goals.
Yes, many CPAs handle both, but confirm their expertise in both areas. Ask about their experience managing personal taxes and business accounting simultaneously. Ensure they can balance both without compromising attention to your specific financial needs.
Discuss concerns directly with your CPA to resolve issues. If unresolved, check your contract for termination terms. Seek a new CPA by researching reviews, credentials, and referrals. Request your financial records to ensure a smooth transition to a new professional.
