Tried to go in a tub, but they were all full for a while. Was finally able to get into a small river inlet tub. Lots of walking, but beautiful location
It was awesome 54 years ago when I went with a friend on our motorcycles. Traded hash with the staff and the world was our oyster. Soaking in the tub with hot mineral water up to your nostrils was the best.
Truly unique experience. The ride in is very memorable 12 plus miles narrow windy two way road which often is wide enough for one car only. Staff and people extremely friendly. Restaurant very good. Hot springs are mostly mud holes with some surrounded by concrete slabs, but are the real deal, very natural. Beautiful setting. Prefer Mammoth, Yosemite, and Kings Canyon but this area is very nice also. Cabins are barebones but adequate
Location is unbeatable. But would rather camp than rent the cabins again. Cabins are quite costly for what they are. We had a mouse in the room. Each cabin amenities vary so check with the staff before checking in. Each cabin comes with its fireplace which is a nice touch. The general store has basic necessities and pretty well stocked with beer and snacks. Our biggest disappointment was with the food at the cafe. Very overpriced (it is probably costly to get the ingredients up) and the only item that we en
Magical place up in the Sierra Nevada mountains. Everything is so peaceful and beautiful, people that come here are chilled and polite, the drive up here is spectacular. The staff is very polite and helpful and the ameneties are all you need to live on this beautiful rock we call home. There are many activities you can do, many hot springs you can visit, many hikes, many lakes, many things to see. Nature is healing and coming here to Mono Hot springs will bring you right in the middle of nature. I recommend
Nice place, but. The biggest bummer for me was some of the other guests. This place is wellll off the beaten path. There are not too many places like this to stay that are truly in wilderness. Somehow though, several guests felt that loud music, loud partying, loud vehicles etc was acceptable in a wilderness setting. The folks running the camp didn't seem to be bothered by this either. I doubt it, but hope this is a rarity. This may not be the serene mountain stay you are hoping for.
The road in was a little scary but once there very worth It! The cabins were clean and the bed was comfortable and cozy. Great place for a couples get away or for a whole family. Even for a group of friends. The people working treated everyone like an old friend and made us feel welcome. The scenery is California at its best.
Very cute resort and campground! Staff was super friendly and helpful. A great place to relax and recharge so much beautiful scenery and a lot to explore in the area! Loved the artwork in the bathrooms!!!
My favorite thing about California so far is this hidden gem. So many great memories from this place. Amazing historic, clean and updated cabins at great prices. Very helpful employees and staff. Endless hiking and exploring opportunities. Beautiful pristine hot springs you can have to yourselves. Bring your friends and family to truly wow them. The road in is one of the best parts. Safe and easily accessible, but not for the faint of heart. Love it!
Amazing location with beautiful views and comfortable amenities. I can't put into words how wonderful our stay was, other than I can't wait to come back for another stay The hot springs are relaxing, with beautiful views. The cabins are cozy and clean and have their own showers and bathrooms, but the resort still has a bath house fed by the hot springs. The camp store has all the common items you might have forgotten to pack, and the resort also has a small restaurant. This place has everything you need!
Not easy to get to but fun to get to. Quaint and interesting when you do get there. We stopped in at the cafe for lunch while hunting for hot springs. The cafe had great burgers and good beer. The hot springs were meh. In one of the hot springs there are creepy mud faces that previous visitors have sculpted into the banks.
Personally it's my heaven. I like to camp but not being dirty do the bath house is great somewhere I can relax in a bath and fix my hair. The staff was always wonderful. My kids loved it. Was always lucky enough to enjoy good people camp fires and someone playing the guitar. There is a peace under the stars that makes this my favorite place to go. Ronnie and Michael were wonderful and educated us on the area. Love it
Majestic. Without judgment of not knowing what it would be, other than "outdoorsy camping spot at elevation", I was blown away. We car camped the first few nights, great camp host, then got a cabin the last night. Campsites each so unique, some too close to neighbors with kids :p but breathtaking. Paved road in camp area made getting to bathroom accessible for wheelchair. Our first campsites had soft sand, not great to roll on, we moved to an area on river side who's main area was more compacted and easier
It's a bit of an effort to get out here, but it's gorgeous. The last 13 miles or so are a one lane road with the 9000 ft. cliff at your side..... Hairy yet very fun and a great adventure. Great trout fishing in the most picturesque country.
Scenic remote place if you want to unit? with nature. And it's a great place to fish and camp. Last 20 miles of the road there - small adventure that takes about hour. It's not awful - just narrow curvy mountain road that tests your skills with oncoming cars. But be careful - when they advertise "historic cabin" it means it haven't been renovated after the construction (about 20 years?) And 160-180$ is little bit too much for it. Another quest - to make reservations. I believe the owner likes everything hist
Great place to relax, explore, experience something totally new and out of the ordinary. Got a ridiculously cheap coupon off Groupon. Staff is very helpful. Springs are really unique. The views are phenomenal. The drive up was amazing including the one lane road to get there. Recommended.
We camped in the campground with a 20' trailer. It was not easy getting up Kaiser pass with it during such a busy time of year but the destination was well worth it. The campground has multiple places to access the river for swimming and riding rapids, as well as good fishing spots. Bathrooms were well kept and despite the campground being full, we didn't feel crowded. The hot springs and Doris Lake were fun little hiking trips and towards the end of my trip I treated myself to an hour at the bathhouse in a
Awesome place to visit. The cabins are definitely rustic and basic, but having a bathroom and sink right there is convenient.
This is an excellent resort on the other side of Kaiser Pass. Your up 6,560 feet in the Sierra National Forest which has some great landscape, excellent fishing, and good hiking. The hot springs and river are a short walking distance away. Yes! Bears are present & will find your cooler if you leave it out. Don't be a dummy follow the bear procedures when it comes to storing food. The ONE LANE ROAD is awesome but not for all drivers. I'm tired of people complaining about it. It's a beautiful road. There's l
Nice hidden place. Not a EASY drive or for the inexperienced driver the road there and back is a challenging and dangerous as I have ever navigated which is many! You will need a lot of time and patience on the road as speeds are typically 5-15 mph 5mph being more the norm due to the numerous blind very narrow sharp turns. This road can seriously mess with your vehicle! There is no way to get there once the winter snow sets in as they can easily get 15 to 25 feet of snow during the winter which completely b
We camped near the Mono Hot Springs Resort. The Resort itself is very rustic. They have small cabins and tent cabins for rent. We had dinner at the restaurant, a buffalo burger with rice and salad (no potatoes that day). Since the location of this resort is so out there we weren't surprised that the fresh food delivery might not be that great. The food was overpriced but tasty after camping for the last six days. We poked our heads into the spa area, it looked like regular bathtubs with the spring water pi
Very nice place. Staff was very friendly. Great walking trails and hot springs were amazing. Awesome place to relax. The road to get there was very narrow and bumpy. Rough ride but worth it once you get there
One of the best places we have ever stayed! Hot springs are great and the owner, his son and staff are awesome! So many many hiking, fishing, 4x4 trails, rivers and lakes to explore!
The place to go for relaxation, rejuvenation, and lot more. We enjoyed our stay at the cabins. They have awesome people working there, very helpful. The restaurant is very conveniently open for lunch and dinner, so I didn't have to cook. Mini store has just about anything you may need in your stay. Overall we enjoyed our stay, only if they could fix the road to get there....
Visited for the day! The one lane mountain road was definitely an adventure! Had a great time. Met alot of interesting people. Used the bath house to clean up before we left. Staff was friendly. The views were spectacular! Food at the restaurant was mediacor. Twice baked potatos were really bad.
The cabin was rustic, the scenery is amazing, but there are some things you should know before you book: 1. The actual hot springs are on Sierra Forest public property. They are at least 1/4 mile hike from the ?resort,? and VERY difficult to find your way back once it is dark. The path to the hot springs is practically a marsh, or you must be able to cross a log bridge across a river to access the one really HOT spring they have. Once you check in they just give you a map & wish you luck finding the hot sp
Did not stay at the resort but seemed rustic and laid back, just went to visit the hot springs. They can be accessed by walking through the campground or if you park by the bridge at entrance. Several different temperatures and some were cement lined while others were natural. Warning: hike around to the different pots was muddy and not labeled but it was a fun adventure.
The road to Mono Hot Springs from Huntington lake has about 13 miles of single lane, and pretty harsh roadway. Definitely take that into account when driving there. The resort was fine. To get to some of the hot springs from the resort you'll need to cross a log bridge. Restaurant at the resort is pretty overpriced for what you get.
Great campsite. Very friendly hosts. Gorgeous views. The river has deep and shallow spots so it's fun for everyone. Hot springs aren't far from campground. The drive is rough but worth it.
Once you're off the main road you have to drive a 10+ mile single lane road to Mono Hot Springs (MHS). After reading about that bumpy, rocky, scary road, we rented a 4WD SUV, plus we needed more car space then what we had. You can navigate the road with other cars but it will be a challenge. If you come across other cars going the opposite direct there are many turnouts. We passed a big delivery truck and other trucks and cars, you just have to patient and road friendly. Still, it's a scary, harrowing road
Shortly ? it was a very good experience. Very nice, unique place. For details, see below. ROAD: Many people are talking here about the road, so I will tooJ. A 4x4 is NOT required to get there. Or any kind of big car is NOT required/necessary/preferred. You'll be fine on your Prius, Fusion, Focus, Corolla or whatever it is. ?Because of the reviews here, I took my expedition, but it's only advantage was its size and comfort. The road is narrow and bumpy, but the bumps are not big enough to stop your vehicle
Spent 4 nights in a 1 bedroom cabin with 2 kids. For being such a remote location we were surprised at the quality. Had at&t cell/internet, refrigerator, shower, towels, full kitchen with pots/pans...ect. Everything was clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. Only complaint was that our fold out futon had a broken hinge, which interrupted our planned sleeping arrangements. We ended up trading nights sleeping on floor. Not a big deal to us. The restaurant was decent and the store has most of the things
This place is heaven on Earth! I've stayed a couple times in the campground, only for a few days on long weekends. Finally, I was able to book a cabin for a whole week and got a chance to explore the area (soak in Little Eden, swim in Tule Lake, drive to Ward Lake, rent a boat on Florence Lake, hike to Silver Pass on JMT etc). All of these places were unique and incredibly scenic. Not to mention the hot springs and the river. One day I swam 5 times and still couldn't get enough of it. This was one of the be
So relaxing! Beautiful views and local trails. Wish we had stayed more than 1 night. Bring your own snacks and drinks bc there isn't much to choose from at the shop. The drive up the mountain was more nerve wracking than expected, but just take your time and you'll be fine. We did it in a Camaro, hehehehe.
Stayed in 3 of the one room housekeeping cabins, they are the cheapest option before tent cabins and we had 10 people. We got a nicely secluded and area for cabins 8, 9, 10. It is so beautifully quiet up there, really a welcome change from the busy hell that yosemite has become. The drive on kaiser pass isnt scary or dangerous, its mainly navigating the oncoming traffic, would not do it at night though! We really enjoyed nearby doris lake and I also hiked with a friend to devil?s bathtub. Many other bounti
Absolutely one of my favorite places I have found in this lifetime! Between soaking in a variety of hot spings with a wide range of temperatures and views, being able to eat in restaurant with great food and tables on an outdoor patio, and because this is the part of the Sierras where they never built roads across the mountains so you don't have crowds - when I go in in Mid-June or after Labor Day in September it feels like I have the whole place practically to myself! I'm an Internet consultant and with A
Great little cabins located just across the creek from the hot springs. Lots of great hiking around. The stream is regularly stocked with fish. I would also highly recommend going for a soak or shower at the bath house!
Six miles of highway followed by 13 miles of at-times single lane road. Four-wheel drive not necessary but recommended - other vehicles may not be sturdy enough to navigate the rough road. The springs themselves are meh at best - good if you're there. Be aware that access to the springs (there are several) require navigating over single and double-beam narrow logs that have been somewhat jerry-rigged over the river - not difficult but a challenge for those with disabilities or balance problems. There is a c
When you make a reservation over the phone, they will not explain their cancellation or reservation policy at all. This means that you can legally get your deposit back and you can cancel your reservation at any time without paying any fees. They refused to return the $400 deposit I had paid, but it was very easy to get it back through the credit card company.
I'm so torn about this place...like a lot of places actually. The location is a bit off the beaten trail and requires you to do the last 12 or 13 miles on a one lane paved road with a few areas that you're looking down a cliff side. There are cars, trucks and RVs thing both ways do it can be a bit tense at times. Apparently my wife and another camper there have PTSD from that road. The other camper actually left early because she had to get it over as soon as possible! Lol. Unbelievable! We studied in a te
The meadows are trampled! NFS would be heros if they built boardwalks or something to protect the area. Hot springs were crowded with kids, river too low to tube down, but the scenery is so worth it. The store was well equipped and the fishing was effortless.
This place is like Iceland to the vikings: Beautiful but I don't want you here. If you're reading this, please keep this small valley gem clean and respect the forest. This place is worth 5 stars but i hope this one star caught your eye so that you read this and respect the environment. P.s. I only speak on the location and not the resort facilities experience. I have yet to try the services.
Really nice hidden resort/campground, the road gets a little narrow and bumpy but is paved the entire way, hot springs are a short walk from the campground and cabins. They have a well stocked general store and a restaurant that serves buffalo. Definitely recommend visiting.
Cabin was clean, service was terrific, free firewood everyday and trash service. There's so much to do in the stunning area surrounding Mono. Everyone was really nice and the elevation is perfect.
Almost every summer, we came to Mono Hot Springs Resort for a shower about once a month while camped at Jackass Meadows. Bathing in the South Fork San Joaquin River, or with water heated over a fire, could only go so far in getting clean. I loved coming here for the for the showers and getting to get ice cream at the general store.
One of our all time favorite places to go. The drive can be a little daunting at times but it is definitely worth it. If you are a Cen Cal native be sure to check it out
This is one of my favorite campgrounds. I love the nature of the beauty the surroundings. Mono creek is amazing places to swim. I love the hot Mono Hot Springs. Amazing!
Love the Mono Hot Springs. You can rough it or stay in a cozy cabin. The stars are amazing and the hot springs are good for the bones. Its a must stay place ..
Location not accessable to a casual driver. Cabin prices are fair for the services provided at the amount of isolation of the area. Free hot springs are only a short hike away if not you can visit the spa for full treatment good fishing in the area.
Absolutely love mono this trip was bitter sweet because we came with out my husband who recently passed. This will now be our annual trip. Year #2 love you Jimmy johnson.. this is where we left a momento for you. See you next year
Had a quick bite for lunch. Food was okay. Not many vegetarian options. I had the vegetarian wrap. However, the river, within walking distance, was amazing.
One of the most beautiful places I've ever been, It's been an annual trip for the last 3 years for my best friend and I and our daughters. It's a must go to place. Lake Thomas Edison.
The facilities are pretty run down and the landscaping needs attention. The hot pools are super slimy which makes it slippery. The concept has great potential though. This place could be turned into something incredible with a little TLC.
We camped here for one night, unfortunately for us the cabins required at least two night minimum. It was surprisingly busy after feeling like we got lost in the backcountry - the worn single lane road was manageable though. There is running water and various hot springs nearby with one more commercialized and others you have to cross a log to get to them from camp - go slow on the log, it begins pretty sturdy but midway is when your heavy footsteps catch up with you. We ate at the restaurant which was busy
Most relaxing vacation place I have ever been. Comfortable accommodations and the best masseuse ever. The drive was worth the massage, and mineral soaking.
Our favorite place for sure.
The best place for camping ever. I love to camp here. The hot bathtubs are super. The river is clear and beautiful. The forest is natural and full of energy.
Awesome staff and facilities. Bonus was finding a shower and toilet in our cabin in the middle of the woods. Very peaceful and serene. Will visit again.
I love this place. Only reason for the 4 stars is there's no plugs in the cabins I stayed in. And it was hot af. Really could of used a fan for air flow.
Awesome place to relax, and enjoy the natural beauty. Wonderful and friendly staff.
Great place. Amazing views and lots of things to do. Ask around for Doug so you can hear some great stories about the area.
Greatest place on earth ?? I've thoroughly embraced this magical wonderland for 40 years. Brought my infant children... Now bringing their infant children!???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
Beautiful area! Good restaurant, store for basics and camping. God's country! Great for peace and serenity
Loved it. Just the perfect amount of roughing it!!! Beautiful scenery and amazing outdoor activities. Highly recommend!
Driving to the place was scary yet fun. Facility is clean, people were friendly. Hot spring was clean and nice.
Wonderful place and my first time at a hot springs! At 58,I got to take a dip.
It is one of the most beautiful places I've ever been...love it I plan on going there every year
This place is awesome, beautiful high Sierra terrain, natural hot pools, good fishing in the headwaters of the San Joaquin river
Great experience but the road with the chuck holes need to be filled and repaired to make it a better Driving Experience
Area is great to visit. Great store for little things. Stay away from the burger shack. Waaay overpriced and not that great.
Great camping and pleasant people! The food was delicious and the hot springs enjoyable
We went there just to check out the hot springs. It was honestly a really nice area and would totally recommend a visit there.
A little bit of a rough drive but the views are fantastic!
no cell tower. Only ATT. very quiet..i belive the best time to go is September. no mosquitoes and not that many ppl
It's full of hippies, but they are really nice. Downside is there are tons of meat bees to deal with.
Great place to visit if in a campground near by or to stay, swimming area, hot springs and fishing.
The drive is treacherous! 1 lane fire road the last 20 or so miles. Needed to soak after driving back.
What an amazing place to visit. Just love it here & coming back soon.
The people there were so nice the cabins were just the right size and the view was beautiful
So beautiful. Most friendly staff I've ever met. Nothing bad to say!
Great food Wonderful staff. Clean Cabins .We absolutely loved the massage
The view is gorgeous, but the springs were pretty dirty. That's nature for yah!
Free camping around resort. Awesome hot springs. Not very private and very busy.
Came here when I was younger beautiful place rough getting there but worth the drive
Just passed thru but got a zippered sweater. To advertise them.
So beautiful, the campsite were right along the river
Been going there for I think 17 years. I guess you can say we like the place!
Love it here we always have a great time up there
Look for a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license, which ensures they’ve passed rigorous exams and meet state requirements. Check for relevant experience in your industry, additional certifications like CFA or CMA, and membership in professional organizations like the AICPA. Verify their credentials through state licensing boards.
Use online directories like the AICPA, CPAverify, or state CPA societies. Search platforms like Yelp or Google for local CPAs with reviews. Ask for referrals from business associates, friends, or financial advisors. Local chambers of commerce can also provide recommendations.
A CPA is a licensed professional who has passed the CPA exam and met state requirements for education and experience. An accountant may lack this certification and could have varying levels of expertise. For complex tasks like tax audits or financial reporting, a CPA is typically more qualified.
Ask about their experience with your specific financial needs, such as tax preparation, small business accounting, or estate planning. Review their website or LinkedIn for case studies or client testimonials. Inquire about their client base to ensure they handle similar financial situations.
Yes, reviews provide insight into a CPA’s reliability, communication, and performance. Check platforms like Google, Yelp, or the Better Business Bureau for client feedback. Look for patterns in reviews, but verify their authenticity, as some may be biased or outdated.
Visit your state’s Board of Accountancy website or use CPAverify.org to check a CPA’s license status. Confirm their license is active and check for any disciplinary actions or complaints. This ensures they’re in good standing and meet professional standards.
Ask about their experience with your financial needs, fee structure, availability, and communication style. Inquire how they handle tax filings, audits, or financial planning. Ask for references or examples of similar work to assess their expertise and fit.
Fees vary based on location, services, and complexity. Basic tax preparation may cost $150-$500, while business accounting or audits can range from $1,000 to $10,000+. Request a detailed fee structure upfront and compare quotes from multiple CPAs.
Yes, many CPAs offer remote services through secure online platforms for document sharing and virtual consultations. Ensure they use encrypted tools for data security. Remote CPAs can be effective if they understand your local tax laws or business regulations.
During consultations, evaluate their ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly. Ask sample questions about taxes or financial strategies and note their responsiveness and clarity. Good communication ensures you understand their advice and fosters a productive relationship.
Beware of CPAs who guarantee specific tax refunds, lack a valid license, or have disciplinary actions on record. Avoid those with poor communication, vague fee structures, or negative reviews highlighting unethical behavior. Always verify their credentials independently.
Large firms offer more resources and specialized teams but may charge higher fees. Solo practitioners often provide personalized service and lower costs but may have limited availability. Choose based on your needs, budget, and preference for personalized attention.
For individuals, annual meetings for tax preparation may suffice. Businesses may need quarterly or monthly check-ins for bookkeeping, tax planning, or financial reporting. Discuss your needs upfront to establish a meeting schedule that aligns with your financial goals.
Yes, many CPAs handle both, but confirm their expertise in both areas. Ask about their experience managing personal taxes and business accounting simultaneously. Ensure they can balance both without compromising attention to your specific financial needs.
Discuss concerns directly with your CPA to resolve issues. If unresolved, check your contract for termination terms. Seek a new CPA by researching reviews, credentials, and referrals. Request your financial records to ensure a smooth transition to a new professional.
