I called around to get quotes for Home insurance to compare prices, which is what normal people do of course. I called this place and spoke to Ashleigh she was very nice and helpful after giving me a quote, she transferred me over to Maria. Maria was very rude, negative and unprofessional, I think it's time for Maria to find a new job/retire and maybe find some yoga classes or anger management classes. She started the conversation by saying "I don't know what you guys are going to do about this house but e
I spoke with and gave all my information to someone named Sophia and she never returned any of my texts or calls even when her colleagues answered and told me she would call me back. Very unprofessional. Too bad.
Bad customer service and horrible communication. Mtn Insurance gives new meaning to the term unprofessional. If you've ever seen the Seinfeld episode with the Soup Nazi, you'll have an idea of what level of customer service to expect. Maria very well may be a capable agent, but be prepared for horrible communication and extreme moodiness. If they feel like responding they will, if they don't then no soup for you. While I was working with them on a very urgent matter, they would take days to reply to a
I have reached out to MTN insurance several times, being a Twin Peaks part-time resident, every time I've contacted this office they've been nothing but professional and will take time to answer questions. Also listen to your particular life circumstances, and understand your needs, I appreciate everyone I've always had good interactions
After spending most of my working career in some aspect of customer service, I'm amazed at the service these guys provide. A++++. They actually followed up (after emailing) customers to ensure (we) thier customers saw said email regarding changes so that NO ONE would be dropped by any carrier. Now I dont know about you, but the big companies sure aren't going that extra mile for customers. This is the type of personal service you only get from a local small business. I had to shake my head at the 1 star peo
Bad customer service. They want to demand how you spend your money and they don't like it when you stand up and tell them it is your money and your property and they work for you, so they need to meet your needs. Avoid at all cost, they are manipulating and rude on your money, while being demeaning. Find another broker, you are better off giving your business to somebody who values capitalism, customer service and respects the customer's wishes without being pushy and socialistic.
A very big thank you to Maria and her team at MTN ins. I moved up to crestline in April and had to get home insurance , the company we went with (I'll avoid the name :p ) seemed good at first .. we really just needed to go with the flow to be able to close escrow . Then we noticed issue after issue with our policy . Problems as small as not getting the age of our new roof correct and assuming it was still 60+ years old and messing up on the street address name on our policy documents . Then big issues li
Friendly and professional regarding home insurance and DMV issues.
I was a loyal customer of MTN insurance for at least 4 years. But apparently, they canceled my policy back in March 2023 and did not notify me. My policy was transferred to a company I have never heard of, and the new company never contacted me.
Amazing service everytime!! Sophie is the best, ask for her!!
Love MTN Insurance Services! I have my home insurance here and get my DMV tags here every year. I even transferred my vehicle into my name effortlessly. This place is a one stop shop, thankful for all the help from all the staff.
Great place to get everything (registration and Insurance) done at one place. I am very thankful to have been able to skip the DMV line and to have received excellent service with out leaving the mountain. I see why they are so busy, excellent service! Thank you.
I made an appointment and was seen immediately. Title transfer and tags took under 10 minutes. Fantastic fast service and you don't have to drive off the mountain!
I have my policy through MTN Insurance. They have been friendly and helpful on the phone or in person. They shopped around for rates for me and found a policy within my price range but still offered the coverage I wanted. When i didnt check my email for a few days, Maria called to remind me that they sent an electronic form I needed to sign for my next years coverage. They treat us like people not just a number, that's important to me and my family.
I wasn't able to get anybody on the phone. I left messages that were not returned. I was in desperate situation to ensure my home in Crestline.
What a gift to have MTN Insurance in our Crestline Lake Gregory Village. The staff is very professional and offer many insurance and DMV services.... which I have used for the past 10 years. Thank you!
They're wonderfully helpful whether you're right there on the spot or happen to be out of town and need something they are your go-to people for anything that you need regarding insurance registration and other vehicle issues wonderful service.
These guys are the BEST! They handle all of the dmv stuff for our business. Can't recommend enough
The people here have always been so nice and helpful - always. It's so convenient to get registration tags here. Thank you for being so professional and kind.
This insurance office is a joke. I recommend not them! They will never answer your questions you always need to know your own personal information because it is too much of a hassle for them to look it up. And don't bother looking for responses from them in the mail regarding follow ups.
We had to register a out of state vehicle and they helped us every step of the way. Outstanding service.Far better than going to the DMV.
This place is awsome... the people are amazing with helping with dmv assistance! They will save you from long lines and rude people at dmv.
They went out of their way to get some DMV paperwork after hours to help me with some registration this time, always helpful and pleasant to deal with.
I used to love this place. The local deals and the owner, but I have only had problems with the insurance provided. Really disappointed with my experience over the past year.
Only place I would ever get my local insurance. They handle DMV transactions too, which is nice for those of us that want to stay on the hill to conduct business.
Very helpful and friendly people working here, can hardly wait to meet and get my car legal for street once again
I have never been so unsatisfied with the service given by this insurance company. The people who work here are beyond rude and unprofessional when they speak to you. Run far far away from this place!!
Great service! Quick and efficient. Much better than dealing with the DMV! Thank you Maria!
This place is amazing. They are truly there to help the people/community
They handle my home insurance and do my DMV stuff. It is so nice to have them as a resource, keep it up!

The people were very easy to work with as well as knowledgeable and It's extremely convenient!! I'll be back
They were extremely rude and unprofessional. Don't go here if you want to find professional service.
They help with getting paperwork in order, and dont sell you extras you dont need. Friendly staff

Look for a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license, which ensures they’ve passed rigorous exams and meet state requirements. Check for relevant experience in your industry, additional certifications like CFA or CMA, and membership in professional organizations like the AICPA. Verify their credentials through state licensing boards.
Use online directories like the AICPA, CPAverify, or state CPA societies. Search platforms like Yelp or Google for local CPAs with reviews. Ask for referrals from business associates, friends, or financial advisors. Local chambers of commerce can also provide recommendations.
A CPA is a licensed professional who has passed the CPA exam and met state requirements for education and experience. An accountant may lack this certification and could have varying levels of expertise. For complex tasks like tax audits or financial reporting, a CPA is typically more qualified.
Ask about their experience with your specific financial needs, such as tax preparation, small business accounting, or estate planning. Review their website or LinkedIn for case studies or client testimonials. Inquire about their client base to ensure they handle similar financial situations.
Yes, reviews provide insight into a CPA’s reliability, communication, and performance. Check platforms like Google, Yelp, or the Better Business Bureau for client feedback. Look for patterns in reviews, but verify their authenticity, as some may be biased or outdated.
Visit your state’s Board of Accountancy website or use CPAverify.org to check a CPA’s license status. Confirm their license is active and check for any disciplinary actions or complaints. This ensures they’re in good standing and meet professional standards.
Ask about their experience with your financial needs, fee structure, availability, and communication style. Inquire how they handle tax filings, audits, or financial planning. Ask for references or examples of similar work to assess their expertise and fit.
Fees vary based on location, services, and complexity. Basic tax preparation may cost $150-$500, while business accounting or audits can range from $1,000 to $10,000+. Request a detailed fee structure upfront and compare quotes from multiple CPAs.
Yes, many CPAs offer remote services through secure online platforms for document sharing and virtual consultations. Ensure they use encrypted tools for data security. Remote CPAs can be effective if they understand your local tax laws or business regulations.
During consultations, evaluate their ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly. Ask sample questions about taxes or financial strategies and note their responsiveness and clarity. Good communication ensures you understand their advice and fosters a productive relationship.
Beware of CPAs who guarantee specific tax refunds, lack a valid license, or have disciplinary actions on record. Avoid those with poor communication, vague fee structures, or negative reviews highlighting unethical behavior. Always verify their credentials independently.
Large firms offer more resources and specialized teams but may charge higher fees. Solo practitioners often provide personalized service and lower costs but may have limited availability. Choose based on your needs, budget, and preference for personalized attention.
For individuals, annual meetings for tax preparation may suffice. Businesses may need quarterly or monthly check-ins for bookkeeping, tax planning, or financial reporting. Discuss your needs upfront to establish a meeting schedule that aligns with your financial goals.
Yes, many CPAs handle both, but confirm their expertise in both areas. Ask about their experience managing personal taxes and business accounting simultaneously. Ensure they can balance both without compromising attention to your specific financial needs.
Discuss concerns directly with your CPA to resolve issues. If unresolved, check your contract for termination terms. Seek a new CPA by researching reviews, credentials, and referrals. Request your financial records to ensure a smooth transition to a new professional.
