NTV Accountants

Reviews Summary

Most reviews praise the accountants for their professionalism, expertise, and responsiveness, with many clients returning yearly and recommending the service. Positive feedback highlights efficient tax preparation, personalized advice, and strong communication from most team members. However, several negative reviews cite poor communication, unresponsiveness, and delays, particularly with one accountant, leading to missed deadlines and penalties. While many clients are highly satisfied, consistency in service quality and communication appears to be an issue for some.

Customer Reviews

NTV Accountants have been doing my taxes for several years. I have worked with Vincent a couple of times and Andrea did my taxes for 2023 and 2024. Both of them did an excellent job and I cannot recommend or thank them enough!

Excellent service. We've been using NTV Acct since 2019; worked with Vincent, Miguel, & Andrea. All very informative, responsive, and eager to look for maximum money back for us. Every email/inquiry answered within mins to a few hours which I think is unheard-of.

Terrible experience here. I met with Vincent to receive help on my taxes and accounting. He assured me he would contact me in a few days, which he never did. After numerous messages in the weeks after our meeting, I have still not received a reply. The tax deadline is quickly approaching and I am now in a bind because he has kept my paperwork which means I can't even go to someone else for assistance. This is completely unacceptable!! Extremely unprofessional!! No consideration or communication. He has no b

I had a great experience meeting with Vincent for a consultation about my tax situation. Within the short time I was there Vince provided me with three strategies to better my circumstances. All three have worked, and have considerably improved my state of affairs. Did I mention the consultation was FREE? A great professional providing a great service deserving of a 5-star rating!

In 2020, I used Vincent to create my S-corporation. I remember he was very slow in communicating. I switched to a different accountant and discovered that Vincent filed my business paperwork a year late, which caused issues and a penalty fee for my next year's taxes. I emailed him 8 days ago and never got a response. UPDATE: It's been almost a year and just wanted to say that I never got a response from Vincent. I'm still very disappointed.

I am very very very happy to find great help when it comes to tax preparation. I always get nervous when I try to prepare my own taxes. I never know where to start or how to get all my paper work in line. All is well with the help of NTV Accountants. I have peace of mind when working with NTV. I have been going since 2018 and plan to continue coming here every year. I refer all my family and friends to have their taxes prepared here. Also ask for CHANNEE and Vincent, they are my go to experts. If I

I have to say I had a good experience for the most part. HOwever once Vincent took over Our taxes , the lack of communications is so bad. I have litaletry email the, 10 time with a text messages would come to me . It would have nothing to do with the email is sent. I AM STILL WAITING ON MY 2021 Taxes I Turned in to him April the 6th . After he did my 2020 which took since november to get them finished in April. . I never give a bad review , However they have never gotten back to me since April the 16

I love, love, love their service. Tony does an awesome job and its well worth it for me to continue using his services for tax planning, tax preparing and hopefully soon corporation conversion. I will continue flying down every year from San Francisco to get my taxes done and enjoy a little of the sunshine. Thank you NTV Accountants.

Edit: they missed filling my corporate taxes then missed filling federal and state for 2019. They became unresponsive, didn't answer email, text, or phone calls. I do not recommend. Original post: I've used them for 2 filling years now for 1099. They're like minded people who understand what's changed, what will change, and ask questions that we don't think to ask ourselves. They're here for us. Thanks to Channee. He stayed up with me on the 11th hour to finish because I slacked off. Thanks man.

We've seen Tony the past few years, he's made the dreaded tax season not so bad, even when we owed. He offers great advise, very knowledgeable and personable. If you want a great tax guy and your taxes done right, see Tony! He also just relocated to mission valley with plenty of parking which is a huge plus! Thanks Tony!

I have been using Channee and NTV Accountants for 4 years. Even though I no longer live in San Diego anymore, I make sure I remain a customer no matter where I am. It is a business I trust and I have recommended close family and friends here.

Amazing accounting group have been using them for 10 years always get me the best returns possible while doing it in an ethical manner.

Extremely poor communication. It's nearly impossible to get ahold of your ?rep? from this firm. I also didn't get a link to my zoom meeting and told my contact and they stopped replying. Would not recommend this firm.

These guys are amazing! Fast, knowledgeable and fun! Best experience I ever had with doing my taxes.

Very professional and informative on personal taxes. I would highly recommend NTV Accountants to anyone seeking expert tax preparers.

Great experience across many years with NTV. Highly recommend.

Highly recommend Vincent and the team! These guys are professional and do a great job!

Very reasonable, and competent.

Frequently Asked Questions

What qualifications should I look for in a CPA?

Look for a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license, which ensures they’ve passed rigorous exams and meet state requirements. Check for relevant experience in your industry, additional certifications like CFA or CMA, and membership in professional organizations like the AICPA. Verify their credentials through state licensing boards.

How do I find a CPA in my area?

Use online directories like the AICPA, CPAverify, or state CPA societies. Search platforms like Yelp or Google for local CPAs with reviews. Ask for referrals from business associates, friends, or financial advisors. Local chambers of commerce can also provide recommendations.

What’s the difference between a CPA and an accountant?

A CPA is a licensed professional who has passed the CPA exam and met state requirements for education and experience. An accountant may lack this certification and could have varying levels of expertise. For complex tasks like tax audits or financial reporting, a CPA is typically more qualified.

How do I know if a CPA specializes in my needs?

Ask about their experience with your specific financial needs, such as tax preparation, small business accounting, or estate planning. Review their website or LinkedIn for case studies or client testimonials. Inquire about their client base to ensure they handle similar financial situations.

Should I check a CPA’s reviews before hiring?

Yes, reviews provide insight into a CPA’s reliability, communication, and performance. Check platforms like Google, Yelp, or the Better Business Bureau for client feedback. Look for patterns in reviews, but verify their authenticity, as some may be biased or outdated.

How can I verify a CPA’s license?

Visit your state’s Board of Accountancy website or use CPAverify.org to check a CPA’s license status. Confirm their license is active and check for any disciplinary actions or complaints. This ensures they’re in good standing and meet professional standards.

What questions should I ask during a CPA consultation?

Ask about their experience with your financial needs, fee structure, availability, and communication style. Inquire how they handle tax filings, audits, or financial planning. Ask for references or examples of similar work to assess their expertise and fit.

How much should I expect to pay for a CPA’s services?

Fees vary based on location, services, and complexity. Basic tax preparation may cost $150-$500, while business accounting or audits can range from $1,000 to $10,000+. Request a detailed fee structure upfront and compare quotes from multiple CPAs.

Can I work with a CPA remotely?

Yes, many CPAs offer remote services through secure online platforms for document sharing and virtual consultations. Ensure they use encrypted tools for data security. Remote CPAs can be effective if they understand your local tax laws or business regulations.

How do I assess a CPA’s communication skills?

During consultations, evaluate their ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly. Ask sample questions about taxes or financial strategies and note their responsiveness and clarity. Good communication ensures you understand their advice and fosters a productive relationship.

What red flags should I watch for when screening a CPA?

Beware of CPAs who guarantee specific tax refunds, lack a valid license, or have disciplinary actions on record. Avoid those with poor communication, vague fee structures, or negative reviews highlighting unethical behavior. Always verify their credentials independently.

Should I choose a CPA from a large firm or a solo practitioner?

Large firms offer more resources and specialized teams but may charge higher fees. Solo practitioners often provide personalized service and lower costs but may have limited availability. Choose based on your needs, budget, and preference for personalized attention.

How often should I meet with my CPA?

For individuals, annual meetings for tax preparation may suffice. Businesses may need quarterly or monthly check-ins for bookkeeping, tax planning, or financial reporting. Discuss your needs upfront to establish a meeting schedule that aligns with your financial goals.

Can a CPA help with both personal and business finances?

Yes, many CPAs handle both, but confirm their expertise in both areas. Ask about their experience managing personal taxes and business accounting simultaneously. Ensure they can balance both without compromising attention to your specific financial needs.

What should I do if I’m not satisfied with my CPA?

Discuss concerns directly with your CPA to resolve issues. If unresolved, check your contract for termination terms. Seek a new CPA by researching reviews, credentials, and referrals. Request your financial records to ensure a smooth transition to a new professional.
