I was with Chace and Spurgeon for many years, then when they merged with Futcher group, I came over with them. Probably 25 or more years of being their client. Imagine my surprise when I got a letter at the start of the year informing me they were firing me, because I wasn't a big enough fish. So much for loyalty. I can't complain about their service when I was important to them. They will probably do a good job for you, at least until they don't need your business anymore
My experience with this CPA firm has been terrible. I was their client for 11 years and we had mutually enjoyed our working relationship over the many years. They very rudely and unprofessionally ended my relationship, in the middle of tax season. They explained it was nothing that I had done, but that I was not a big enough business for them anymore. My tax return usually costed $1800-2000 per year for them to file for me. The interaction I just had with their receptionist Katelyn on the phone was the nail
Futcher Group has been great to work with! I had a CPA that was out of state and didn't understand some of our states tax rules. I made the transition about 3 years ago to Futcher Group and glad I did it. I love they are local and I can reach out or connect in person. Thank you for all your hard work!
David Futcher and his group have helped with both my business and personal taxes. Each time, they make us feel like we are the only customers that matter at that point. I am continually and thoroughly impressed with their timeliness, reasonable rates and professionalism. I would have absolutely no hesitation to recommend Futcher Group to anyone. Thanks David for making our job easier.
Customer service with this outfit is becoming questionable. Really liked this place when it was Futcher group. They don't seem to want to answer our calls. Thinking about taking our services elsewhere.
Futcher Group is topnotch and goes above and beyond to help you with your taxes. Ericka at Futcher group and all of the team have a wealth of knowledge and experience to make this process as pain free as possible. Call them for your tax needs!
Erika at Futcher group is so knowledgeable and is always reminding us of deadlines and new guild lines in effect or going into effect soon. I would recommend anyone to this office for all their tax needs!!!!
Went and talked to them , seemed good was waiting for my LLC paperwork and get things set up then hire them to do my books. Apparently I didn't get back to them in time so they sent me a bill for my initial consultation. Not a good first impression . They probably have good services but I will never know.
I have used the Futcher-Henry CPA Group for many years now. They have always served my accounting needs. I would never consider going anywhere else because the staff is very professional, personable and proactive.
Love Futcher Group. They are always very reliable on payroll, end of year stuff and taxes! 5 stars isn't enough.
I have used Futcher Group for years. They are amazing. Trustworthy, friendly, state of the art. Would never use anyone else!
I never worry that I'll send an email, or make a call and then wait and wait to hear back. Futcher-Henry CPA Group always responds quickly and answers the questions I have for them.
We have always been more than satisfied with the quality and timeliness of the work done by David Futcher and his staff. We have and will continue to recommend them to friends and family.
When I brought my business to the Futcher-Henry Group I was in a mess with the IRS. Thanks to them, they helped me to clean it up.
Highly recommended. I've known David for many years, and yet I continue to be amazed at the consistency in his work product (amazing) and professionalism.
They are highly professional, yet they treat you like a friend. I feel at ease talking to them and asking them questions without being judged.
Look for a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license, which ensures they’ve passed rigorous exams and meet state requirements. Check for relevant experience in your industry, additional certifications like CFA or CMA, and membership in professional organizations like the AICPA. Verify their credentials through state licensing boards.
Use online directories like the AICPA, CPAverify, or state CPA societies. Search platforms like Yelp or Google for local CPAs with reviews. Ask for referrals from business associates, friends, or financial advisors. Local chambers of commerce can also provide recommendations.
A CPA is a licensed professional who has passed the CPA exam and met state requirements for education and experience. An accountant may lack this certification and could have varying levels of expertise. For complex tasks like tax audits or financial reporting, a CPA is typically more qualified.
Ask about their experience with your specific financial needs, such as tax preparation, small business accounting, or estate planning. Review their website or LinkedIn for case studies or client testimonials. Inquire about their client base to ensure they handle similar financial situations.
Yes, reviews provide insight into a CPA’s reliability, communication, and performance. Check platforms like Google, Yelp, or the Better Business Bureau for client feedback. Look for patterns in reviews, but verify their authenticity, as some may be biased or outdated.
Visit your state’s Board of Accountancy website or use CPAverify.org to check a CPA’s license status. Confirm their license is active and check for any disciplinary actions or complaints. This ensures they’re in good standing and meet professional standards.
Ask about their experience with your financial needs, fee structure, availability, and communication style. Inquire how they handle tax filings, audits, or financial planning. Ask for references or examples of similar work to assess their expertise and fit.
Fees vary based on location, services, and complexity. Basic tax preparation may cost $150-$500, while business accounting or audits can range from $1,000 to $10,000+. Request a detailed fee structure upfront and compare quotes from multiple CPAs.
Yes, many CPAs offer remote services through secure online platforms for document sharing and virtual consultations. Ensure they use encrypted tools for data security. Remote CPAs can be effective if they understand your local tax laws or business regulations.
During consultations, evaluate their ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly. Ask sample questions about taxes or financial strategies and note their responsiveness and clarity. Good communication ensures you understand their advice and fosters a productive relationship.
Beware of CPAs who guarantee specific tax refunds, lack a valid license, or have disciplinary actions on record. Avoid those with poor communication, vague fee structures, or negative reviews highlighting unethical behavior. Always verify their credentials independently.
Large firms offer more resources and specialized teams but may charge higher fees. Solo practitioners often provide personalized service and lower costs but may have limited availability. Choose based on your needs, budget, and preference for personalized attention.
For individuals, annual meetings for tax preparation may suffice. Businesses may need quarterly or monthly check-ins for bookkeeping, tax planning, or financial reporting. Discuss your needs upfront to establish a meeting schedule that aligns with your financial goals.
Yes, many CPAs handle both, but confirm their expertise in both areas. Ask about their experience managing personal taxes and business accounting simultaneously. Ensure they can balance both without compromising attention to your specific financial needs.
Discuss concerns directly with your CPA to resolve issues. If unresolved, check your contract for termination terms. Seek a new CPA by researching reviews, credentials, and referrals. Request your financial records to ensure a smooth transition to a new professional.
