Customer Reviews

Let me be clear?I wasn't paid for this review. I'm just incredibly thankful. I had a serious tax issue hanging over me. I owed a lot to the IRS, and it was making me anxious every day. Then I found Ovation Tax Group?and wow. They did a wonderful job. From the first call, they handled everything with professionalism and care. They gave me real peace of mind. I can finally go about my life again without that stress weighing me down. If you're dealing with IRS trouble or just feeling overwhelmed, don't wait.

I was worried about some communication issues after they implemented an AI voice assistant to handle a customer service concern of mine. But after I left a message with the assistant someone called me back and explained everything to me. They ultimately saved me a lot of money and aggravation. I recommend this company highly as it is clear that with the help of technology they are trying to serve all their customers as effectively and efficiently as possible.

Thanks to Ovation Tax Group, I was able to resolve a lien placed on my parents' house following their passing. The responsibility of sorting it out had fallen to me, and after a positive experience with Ovation a few years ago, I reached out to them again. They quickly and efficiently addressed the issue. I was impressed by their kindness and speed, and I'm extremely grateful for their assistance

I can't recommend Kristine enough! She helped me clear up complex tax disputes with Pennsylvania, California, and New York ? and made the entire process so much smoother than I ever expected. She is incredibly diligent, responsive, and truly cares about her clients. My experience with her was above the moon! If I ever face any tax issues in the future, I won't hesitate to seek out her services again. She's a lifesaver!

I responded to an ad for free consultation with Ovation Tax Group. After my free consultation we called the IRS. Jim 100% helped me resove my IRS issues. Jim Reilly was very knowledgeble, professional, and went above & beyond to give me peace of mind & answers I needed.Excellent company, highly recommend!

Very professional and immediate results. I just had an attorney, Alex, assist me with an old tax bill. He was able to contact the IRS while I was on hold, and he was able to get it expunged. I would highly recommend this company.

Ovation Group solicited a dear friend of mine, (senior single female) and assured that their agency would resolve all her tax debt for a $4,000 fee which they set up an outside finance agency? Bottom line is they did nothing they promised and added $4,000 to her overall debt plus %? The communication was very poor and vague over months & months of no return email or anything being done to help her with anything they initially promised? Just another agency of vultures preying on her those in need of help?

Don't waste your money. All I did was spend $10k for them to tell me I still had to pay and set me up in a payment plan. I reached out because I needed help and they talked a good ballgame. I could have done all of it myself and saved myself from adding to the damage already done.

I thank God they did direct me in the right path. They were easy to talk to understand everything I said and what I've been through and it's awesome to have people like you guys to guide us to our taxi situations. Thank you so much.

They have great to work with and have a major positive impact to my tax debt. If you need help with your tax debt give them a call!!

My mame is Linda C. Hunt a 75. Year old widow, in the year of 2009 the economy change and I made a decision to sale my house. I did it with a short sale. Always worried that one day they'll take my money from my bank account. One day in. September 2023, it was a reality and Ovation Tax Group help me to clear state tax a

These guys were very fair with how they treated me. I was put in a non collectible status, and I won't have to pay my IRS bill anytime soon! Such a relief!

Ovation Tax is good and fair. We had to make some major change requests after hiring them and they were very accommodating and refunded our full amount. They laid out my options fairly and I would recommend them to anyone.

Update: had a gentlem call me yesterday to let me know the guy that called about the large AMT of money did not explain well. It's a baby sitting fee to make sure I do all correct in the future. I am with an accountant so no more extra fees . They dropped them and wanted done. I will add that the younger staff are not the way the big wigs work. They are polite and understanding and are addressing the issues listed below. I do appreciate the help they have done and work they are doing to improve. They l

Frequently Asked Questions

What qualifications should I look for in a CPA?

Look for a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license, which ensures they’ve passed rigorous exams and meet state requirements. Check for relevant experience in your industry, additional certifications like CFA or CMA, and membership in professional organizations like the AICPA. Verify their credentials through state licensing boards.

How do I find a CPA in my area?

Use online directories like the AICPA, CPAverify, or state CPA societies. Search platforms like Yelp or Google for local CPAs with reviews. Ask for referrals from business associates, friends, or financial advisors. Local chambers of commerce can also provide recommendations.

What’s the difference between a CPA and an accountant?

A CPA is a licensed professional who has passed the CPA exam and met state requirements for education and experience. An accountant may lack this certification and could have varying levels of expertise. For complex tasks like tax audits or financial reporting, a CPA is typically more qualified.

How do I know if a CPA specializes in my needs?

Ask about their experience with your specific financial needs, such as tax preparation, small business accounting, or estate planning. Review their website or LinkedIn for case studies or client testimonials. Inquire about their client base to ensure they handle similar financial situations.

Should I check a CPA’s reviews before hiring?

Yes, reviews provide insight into a CPA’s reliability, communication, and performance. Check platforms like Google, Yelp, or the Better Business Bureau for client feedback. Look for patterns in reviews, but verify their authenticity, as some may be biased or outdated.

How can I verify a CPA’s license?

Visit your state’s Board of Accountancy website or use CPAverify.org to check a CPA’s license status. Confirm their license is active and check for any disciplinary actions or complaints. This ensures they’re in good standing and meet professional standards.

What questions should I ask during a CPA consultation?

Ask about their experience with your financial needs, fee structure, availability, and communication style. Inquire how they handle tax filings, audits, or financial planning. Ask for references or examples of similar work to assess their expertise and fit.

How much should I expect to pay for a CPA’s services?

Fees vary based on location, services, and complexity. Basic tax preparation may cost $150-$500, while business accounting or audits can range from $1,000 to $10,000+. Request a detailed fee structure upfront and compare quotes from multiple CPAs.

Can I work with a CPA remotely?

Yes, many CPAs offer remote services through secure online platforms for document sharing and virtual consultations. Ensure they use encrypted tools for data security. Remote CPAs can be effective if they understand your local tax laws or business regulations.

How do I assess a CPA’s communication skills?

During consultations, evaluate their ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly. Ask sample questions about taxes or financial strategies and note their responsiveness and clarity. Good communication ensures you understand their advice and fosters a productive relationship.

What red flags should I watch for when screening a CPA?

Beware of CPAs who guarantee specific tax refunds, lack a valid license, or have disciplinary actions on record. Avoid those with poor communication, vague fee structures, or negative reviews highlighting unethical behavior. Always verify their credentials independently.

Should I choose a CPA from a large firm or a solo practitioner?

Large firms offer more resources and specialized teams but may charge higher fees. Solo practitioners often provide personalized service and lower costs but may have limited availability. Choose based on your needs, budget, and preference for personalized attention.

How often should I meet with my CPA?

For individuals, annual meetings for tax preparation may suffice. Businesses may need quarterly or monthly check-ins for bookkeeping, tax planning, or financial reporting. Discuss your needs upfront to establish a meeting schedule that aligns with your financial goals.

Can a CPA help with both personal and business finances?

Yes, many CPAs handle both, but confirm their expertise in both areas. Ask about their experience managing personal taxes and business accounting simultaneously. Ensure they can balance both without compromising attention to your specific financial needs.

What should I do if I’m not satisfied with my CPA?

Discuss concerns directly with your CPA to resolve issues. If unresolved, check your contract for termination terms. Seek a new CPA by researching reviews, credentials, and referrals. Request your financial records to ensure a smooth transition to a new professional.
