I Highly recommend Packey Law Corp. My husband is self employed and with Matthew?s wealth of knowledge for taxes/law, he was able to answer and help us with all our questions. He was committed and very professional through the whole process. I will be referring all my friends and family! Thank you again!
Highly recommend..... Mr.Steve Packey is a straight forward person and he eliminated all my questions regarding the tax. He will give you great suggestions to maximize your returns without breaking the law, he is affordable too. We need this kind of people and businesses in our community. My previous CPA was not that helpful and I am so glad I found this gem and I will only depend Packey law for my future tax needs. Thank you for helping me. Update for 2020 I am going through a tax situation and Mr.Steve P
Packet Law Corp was wonderful. They were better priced as far as their service fee, and you could call them and you could get answers. They are professional, direct, and don't give you the runaround. My taxes were a mess before going to Packey Law but they helped get everything sorted out and were patient with me through the process. I really appreciated the attention to detail and felt like they made my taxes a priority. My husband and I will definitely be going back to Packey Law next year for our taxes.
First of all?.. Taxes suck and I wish I could decide where my taxes go. That being said 23? was my first year as a self employed American. I didn't know where or how to start with my taxes and I was dreading doing them myself. I stumbled across Packey Law. Matt helped me and took all my worries about doing my own taxes away. He was very patient and helped me step by step on what I needed to do and what I needed to get. I appreciate the help Packey Law gave me! And thank you Uncle Sam.
Wow! Such an amazing experience to have someone sit with you that actually knows what they're doing. He filed three years of tax returns for me in a short amount of time in one day and as a new business owner, he taught me so much in just one sitting. The process was smooth sailing and he is a very nice gentleman. I'll be returning every year going forward. Thank you Mr.Packey
Packey Law is wonderful. I used to do my taxes on my own. Last year I was going to owe a bunch. Packey Law ended up getting me back a bunch on my return! Going here from now on for all my tax needs!
I met Mr Packey several years ago for help on huge tax problem. He was great and very professional. He has helped me with great advise on taxes each time I met him. Even when I moved out of town I came back to Sacramento just to have him do my taxes. I wouldn't trust anyone else. I also need to mention his legal secretary Lavon who always remembers you and she is a great asset to the firm.
Mr. Packey was very knowledgeable, helpful and understanding of my problem. He listened carefully and helped me figure out how much I would owe in taxes for selling a rental property. He asked questions to make sure he understood the situation thoroughly. I will be returning to him to have my taxes done the following year.
Me. Steve Packey is the best tax attorney in town and you can trust on him. He helped to fix my tax issues and he explained everything to me. We truly need this kind business. Thanks again for your help
Excellent, honest, dependable and reasonable! I had my 25% of my wages garnished back in 2010 as a result of a tax re-assessment a few years earlier of my 1998 tax return, which left me with an approximately $32,000 IRS bill. Mr. Packey and his capable staff immediately reverse the garnishment order and began preparing an Offer In Compromise ("OIC") in my behalf. Though they provided excellent service, I was unable to meet the installment demands imposed by the IRS. Feeling dejected, I expected my case
I came to Steve when I had 10 years of taxes delinquent and he worked with me easy over a couple years to catch up and efficient every step of the way saving me tons of money. Packy Law is very professional and they do a great job and very affordable. I am very confident in them &have followed them when they moved & I still recommend to everyone. I would not go elsewhere. Thanks packy law!

Awesome people. They always do a great job for me and I never have any problems. Simple and fast.
Great team! Not only do they do a great job, they have a family atmosphere! They follow through on what they promise. Always have the answers and nice to have someone local!
I'm a practitioner in another field of law. Steve is very skilled and meticulous.
Look for a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license, which ensures they’ve passed rigorous exams and meet state requirements. Check for relevant experience in your industry, additional certifications like CFA or CMA, and membership in professional organizations like the AICPA. Verify their credentials through state licensing boards.
Use online directories like the AICPA, CPAverify, or state CPA societies. Search platforms like Yelp or Google for local CPAs with reviews. Ask for referrals from business associates, friends, or financial advisors. Local chambers of commerce can also provide recommendations.
A CPA is a licensed professional who has passed the CPA exam and met state requirements for education and experience. An accountant may lack this certification and could have varying levels of expertise. For complex tasks like tax audits or financial reporting, a CPA is typically more qualified.
Ask about their experience with your specific financial needs, such as tax preparation, small business accounting, or estate planning. Review their website or LinkedIn for case studies or client testimonials. Inquire about their client base to ensure they handle similar financial situations.
Yes, reviews provide insight into a CPA’s reliability, communication, and performance. Check platforms like Google, Yelp, or the Better Business Bureau for client feedback. Look for patterns in reviews, but verify their authenticity, as some may be biased or outdated.
Visit your state’s Board of Accountancy website or use CPAverify.org to check a CPA’s license status. Confirm their license is active and check for any disciplinary actions or complaints. This ensures they’re in good standing and meet professional standards.
Ask about their experience with your financial needs, fee structure, availability, and communication style. Inquire how they handle tax filings, audits, or financial planning. Ask for references or examples of similar work to assess their expertise and fit.
Fees vary based on location, services, and complexity. Basic tax preparation may cost $150-$500, while business accounting or audits can range from $1,000 to $10,000+. Request a detailed fee structure upfront and compare quotes from multiple CPAs.
Yes, many CPAs offer remote services through secure online platforms for document sharing and virtual consultations. Ensure they use encrypted tools for data security. Remote CPAs can be effective if they understand your local tax laws or business regulations.
During consultations, evaluate their ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly. Ask sample questions about taxes or financial strategies and note their responsiveness and clarity. Good communication ensures you understand their advice and fosters a productive relationship.
Beware of CPAs who guarantee specific tax refunds, lack a valid license, or have disciplinary actions on record. Avoid those with poor communication, vague fee structures, or negative reviews highlighting unethical behavior. Always verify their credentials independently.
Large firms offer more resources and specialized teams but may charge higher fees. Solo practitioners often provide personalized service and lower costs but may have limited availability. Choose based on your needs, budget, and preference for personalized attention.
For individuals, annual meetings for tax preparation may suffice. Businesses may need quarterly or monthly check-ins for bookkeeping, tax planning, or financial reporting. Discuss your needs upfront to establish a meeting schedule that aligns with your financial goals.
Yes, many CPAs handle both, but confirm their expertise in both areas. Ask about their experience managing personal taxes and business accounting simultaneously. Ensure they can balance both without compromising attention to your specific financial needs.
Discuss concerns directly with your CPA to resolve issues. If unresolved, check your contract for termination terms. Seek a new CPA by researching reviews, credentials, and referrals. Request your financial records to ensure a smooth transition to a new professional.
