Michael and his team are great to work with! They are always friendly and helpful and a wealth of information maximizing the benefits to us through adjustments and suggestions with our taxes. I feel like they are always in our corner! The quick tax preparation turnaround is wonderful! Highly recommended!
I found this company back in October of 2024. I needed help with accounting and taxes for my business and personal taxes. I was informed my Mr Penn that everything would be taken care of and I was under the expectation that things would be smooth given this is my first time working with a professional. But working with this company has been a nightmare. There?s no communication from anyone, my taxes are late and my company is facing late penalties. Not only my company but I am personally. Due to the neglige
I had Mike Penn file my tax return for the last two years. It generally went quickly to my satisfaction although the price was a bit high for the work they have done. But this year, I uploaded all necessary documents in early March, and kept calling them to ask for status. The answer was that Mike alone is handling the task hence it's very slow. Fast forwarding to 4/14, one day before the tax filing deadline, it's still not done. I called the office at least 4 or 5 times but no one picked up the phone. It s
I was referred to this office by a friend, but unfortunately, my experience has been extremely disappointing. Communication was virtually nonexistent-they rarely responded to emails, and it was nearly impossible to get clear answers to even the most basic questions. My tax return was not filed on time, and there was no communication regarding an extension or any kind of plan. When I reached out, the secretaries-though polite-offered vague reassurances like "it's being worked on" or ?it's on his desk," with
Outstanding accounting service. Mr. Penn and his whole team are top notch. You will not be disappointed. Thank you for years of assistance with our taxes. We wouldn't trust anyone else.
Shout out Noel! Apparently he is too good to respond to emails.
Have Known Mike Penn since he was 18 yrs old. Words cannot express how much I admire and love him. ?? He is Fantastic. Love, Gerri.
Penn and Company have been preparing my taxes for the last 30 years. I cannot count how many I have referred to the office over the years that have thanked me. The staff are friendly and will explain in plain speak any questions you have with the preparations. Convenient drive up window for pickup and drop-off. Schedule a meeting if you need to meet in person in advance, especially during tax season.
Mike on the ball, very helpful knowledgeable. Beth always cheerful and big smile. Donna knows her stuff on bonds, everyone great attitude. AND Dave is ALWAYS there to help, he's the man !
We have been a client for over 40 years. Mr. Penn and his team have been reliable and extremely helpful not only with our taxes but with our investments.
I have been a client of Mr. Penn for 13 years, my husband has been a client for 23 years. We have always received the very best service and professional care from Mr. Penn personally and all of his staff. I would trust no one else more with our family's finances. I would challenge anyone to find a more honest and hardworking firm.
I had a great experience from the moment I meet Beth at the front desk. Till the day I got my taxes back. Beth and the rest of the staff are great.
Best in the business. Returns calls, very helpful, very trustworthy. Monica is the best! So happy to have found this office. After a bad accountant it is a wonderful feeling to know you are finally in good hands.
We have been clients of Mike Penn's for over 40 years. When the chips are down he is NOT there for you. We were audited by the state and when we tried to contact him he would not take our calls, would not call us back or contact us in any way. It ended up costing us over $10,000. Needless to say, we will be finding another CPA this year.
I was hoping to get information to get my 2019 taxes done. when I called and spoke to a Donna she was extremely rude and hung up on me. I received a phone call back from the owner and he told me he cant help he does not work for me and hung up. I am called the I.R.S. and they said this was not true. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY you may end up getting audited by the I.R.S. because of there poor accounting skills.
They are awesome. Take good care of my family for many years.
Michael is the best!
We've been going there for several years. They are super helpful and reasonably priced. Happy clients!

True professionals. Wouldn't trust anyone else with my tax services.
The best! Highly recommended
Very expirienced and professional staff.
Look for a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license, which ensures they’ve passed rigorous exams and meet state requirements. Check for relevant experience in your industry, additional certifications like CFA or CMA, and membership in professional organizations like the AICPA. Verify their credentials through state licensing boards.
Use online directories like the AICPA, CPAverify, or state CPA societies. Search platforms like Yelp or Google for local CPAs with reviews. Ask for referrals from business associates, friends, or financial advisors. Local chambers of commerce can also provide recommendations.
A CPA is a licensed professional who has passed the CPA exam and met state requirements for education and experience. An accountant may lack this certification and could have varying levels of expertise. For complex tasks like tax audits or financial reporting, a CPA is typically more qualified.
Ask about their experience with your specific financial needs, such as tax preparation, small business accounting, or estate planning. Review their website or LinkedIn for case studies or client testimonials. Inquire about their client base to ensure they handle similar financial situations.
Yes, reviews provide insight into a CPA’s reliability, communication, and performance. Check platforms like Google, Yelp, or the Better Business Bureau for client feedback. Look for patterns in reviews, but verify their authenticity, as some may be biased or outdated.
Visit your state’s Board of Accountancy website or use CPAverify.org to check a CPA’s license status. Confirm their license is active and check for any disciplinary actions or complaints. This ensures they’re in good standing and meet professional standards.
Ask about their experience with your financial needs, fee structure, availability, and communication style. Inquire how they handle tax filings, audits, or financial planning. Ask for references or examples of similar work to assess their expertise and fit.
Fees vary based on location, services, and complexity. Basic tax preparation may cost $150-$500, while business accounting or audits can range from $1,000 to $10,000+. Request a detailed fee structure upfront and compare quotes from multiple CPAs.
Yes, many CPAs offer remote services through secure online platforms for document sharing and virtual consultations. Ensure they use encrypted tools for data security. Remote CPAs can be effective if they understand your local tax laws or business regulations.
During consultations, evaluate their ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly. Ask sample questions about taxes or financial strategies and note their responsiveness and clarity. Good communication ensures you understand their advice and fosters a productive relationship.
Beware of CPAs who guarantee specific tax refunds, lack a valid license, or have disciplinary actions on record. Avoid those with poor communication, vague fee structures, or negative reviews highlighting unethical behavior. Always verify their credentials independently.
Large firms offer more resources and specialized teams but may charge higher fees. Solo practitioners often provide personalized service and lower costs but may have limited availability. Choose based on your needs, budget, and preference for personalized attention.
For individuals, annual meetings for tax preparation may suffice. Businesses may need quarterly or monthly check-ins for bookkeeping, tax planning, or financial reporting. Discuss your needs upfront to establish a meeting schedule that aligns with your financial goals.
Yes, many CPAs handle both, but confirm their expertise in both areas. Ask about their experience managing personal taxes and business accounting simultaneously. Ensure they can balance both without compromising attention to your specific financial needs.
Discuss concerns directly with your CPA to resolve issues. If unresolved, check your contract for termination terms. Seek a new CPA by researching reviews, credentials, and referrals. Request your financial records to ensure a smooth transition to a new professional.
