You get what you pay for. After many years of doing my own taxes and stressing over it, I decided to take my business and personal returns to Peter and his very competent team. He is willing to walk you through the return to make sure you understand. They also help with year end planning. Nothing good is cheap and not a lot of cheap things are good. Make the right choice and visit Personalized Business Service.
I have been using PBS for over 20 years for my business and personal accounting needs and have been very pleased with their services. There work is always reliable, accurate and done in a timely manner. They are always available to answer any questions I may have!!!
After a couple decades, I decided to change my tax service. I had heard several good things about PBS and gave them shot, and I am so thankful I did! Esther LaMonica was so amazing! She was able to save us literally thousands, just by asking simple questions my old accountant never did. I am a customer for life!!
The office staff at PBS was very professional and friendly. I worked with Dana to file my taxes. She answered all my questions, was very personable, knowledgeable and timely. I would highly recommend her.
I have been coming to this place forever. We love them here so much. This place even has done most of my family?s taxes for a few decades! Will definitely keep coming here for years to come, and encourage anyone who needs tax help to visit them!
Dana provided a very professional service, she is knowledgeable about taxes. The paperwork is timely, staff is helpful and their fees are right. Highly recommended.
Very bad service I went the 14 of April they took my paper work and said they will call me for any questions next day was is last day to file taxes they called me to collect $65 fee only for an extension then 4 hours later they called again for pics of more docs to email to them I emailed the docs but that email address was wrong it never went through I called few times never got anyone to get the calls next day the 16th I got a call they told me I should go somewhere else to get it done death line is gone.
I've been getting my taxes done by Personalized for years, from Betsy, Esther & Dana, I've always had excellent service. My taxes have always been pretty easy, yet I'm always treated as a VIP client. I have sent a few co-workers to Personalized & they have all been so happy. Not only do the ladies at Personalized make sure they are getting my maximum refund, but they seem to actually care & remember things about my life, even though I see them once a year. I love that I found this office & that they have su
I'd been a customer for years. The prices have just gotten way to high. Wouldn't recommend.
The only time I write reviews is if I had a terrible experience. This was the first time I used outside help to file my tax returns on the recommendation of someone, which was my first mistake to not do a little due diligence. But, due to time constraints and naivety I went ahead anyways. This place is no better than your local discount tax preparers (e.g. HR Block, Jackson Hewitt) with a rudimentary understanding of tax laws. I provided ALL necessary documents to file my returns and really all that was
No one can beat the service at Personalized Business Service! Not only my accounting work is done on time as always, it's more so they treat you like family that matters to me. They are truly GENUINE. Thank you for your amazing service. Sarkis K. Owner of Acutintpro Window Tinting, Upland, Ca.

Look for a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license, which ensures they’ve passed rigorous exams and meet state requirements. Check for relevant experience in your industry, additional certifications like CFA or CMA, and membership in professional organizations like the AICPA. Verify their credentials through state licensing boards.
Use online directories like the AICPA, CPAverify, or state CPA societies. Search platforms like Yelp or Google for local CPAs with reviews. Ask for referrals from business associates, friends, or financial advisors. Local chambers of commerce can also provide recommendations.
A CPA is a licensed professional who has passed the CPA exam and met state requirements for education and experience. An accountant may lack this certification and could have varying levels of expertise. For complex tasks like tax audits or financial reporting, a CPA is typically more qualified.
Ask about their experience with your specific financial needs, such as tax preparation, small business accounting, or estate planning. Review their website or LinkedIn for case studies or client testimonials. Inquire about their client base to ensure they handle similar financial situations.
Yes, reviews provide insight into a CPA’s reliability, communication, and performance. Check platforms like Google, Yelp, or the Better Business Bureau for client feedback. Look for patterns in reviews, but verify their authenticity, as some may be biased or outdated.
Visit your state’s Board of Accountancy website or use CPAverify.org to check a CPA’s license status. Confirm their license is active and check for any disciplinary actions or complaints. This ensures they’re in good standing and meet professional standards.
Ask about their experience with your financial needs, fee structure, availability, and communication style. Inquire how they handle tax filings, audits, or financial planning. Ask for references or examples of similar work to assess their expertise and fit.
Fees vary based on location, services, and complexity. Basic tax preparation may cost $150-$500, while business accounting or audits can range from $1,000 to $10,000+. Request a detailed fee structure upfront and compare quotes from multiple CPAs.
Yes, many CPAs offer remote services through secure online platforms for document sharing and virtual consultations. Ensure they use encrypted tools for data security. Remote CPAs can be effective if they understand your local tax laws or business regulations.
During consultations, evaluate their ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly. Ask sample questions about taxes or financial strategies and note their responsiveness and clarity. Good communication ensures you understand their advice and fosters a productive relationship.
Beware of CPAs who guarantee specific tax refunds, lack a valid license, or have disciplinary actions on record. Avoid those with poor communication, vague fee structures, or negative reviews highlighting unethical behavior. Always verify their credentials independently.
Large firms offer more resources and specialized teams but may charge higher fees. Solo practitioners often provide personalized service and lower costs but may have limited availability. Choose based on your needs, budget, and preference for personalized attention.
For individuals, annual meetings for tax preparation may suffice. Businesses may need quarterly or monthly check-ins for bookkeeping, tax planning, or financial reporting. Discuss your needs upfront to establish a meeting schedule that aligns with your financial goals.
Yes, many CPAs handle both, but confirm their expertise in both areas. Ask about their experience managing personal taxes and business accounting simultaneously. Ensure they can balance both without compromising attention to your specific financial needs.
Discuss concerns directly with your CPA to resolve issues. If unresolved, check your contract for termination terms. Seek a new CPA by researching reviews, credentials, and referrals. Request your financial records to ensure a smooth transition to a new professional.
