Taxes are complicated and it?s something that stresses me out every year. ?Did I get the most money back? Did I file everything correctly? Am I going to get in any trouble with the government?? Long story short, Phoenix Tax made the process SO easy and it?s been the smoothest tax filing I?ve ever done.
I was fortunate enough to meet Julie and Anthony as part of a severence package years ago! They made me feel so comfortable, I decided to stick with them, and I've continued to work wth them virtually. Today they help me with my financial plan and my tax planning. Whenever I'm faced with a financial challenge, I just reach out, and they help me come up with a workable plan. I highly recommend Phoenix Tax consultants!!
As a business owner, I appreciated the tax strategies Derrick provided. He is knowledgeable, listens, and takes the time to understand you and your business. He is a trusted partner and I am so grateful for his insights.
I find tax preparation and the idea of owning an unknown amount very stressful, and it has become increasingly stressful for me as I have multiple job types (W2 & 1099). Phoenix Tax Consultants has an awesome staff who efficiently helped me file my taxes last year since I wasn't sure how to file multiple jobs. I will be sticking with their services for this tax year as well since it was such a weight off my shoulders last tax season! They're very friendly, and being local, it's nice that I can stop by if I
Phoenix Tax Consultants has been my trusted tax preparer for 5+ years and I look forward to working with the entire PTC team for many more years. They have helped me navigate several complex tax scenarios and constantly help me file accurate and timely returns year over year. Whether you need tax advice for your business or as an individual, the PTC team will be there to help! They are strong communicators, efficient, and extremely savvy with the constantly changing tax code. Thank you to the entire PTC tea
Phoenix Tax made the normally stressful process of filing taxes smooth and efficient for a reasonable price. I was happy with my return and it was a tremendous weight off my shoulders. My preparer was also incredibly responsive, trustworthy, organized, and efficient throughout the entire process. I can't thank them enough and would highly recommend this business!
I?ve used this business for more than 15 years for my personal and business taxes as well as private investing. The owner is extremely knowledgeable and professional. She is proactive in contacting me yearly or more often for my financial ?checkup? and gives me an in depth personal review of my portfolio performance and recommendations for changes. I trust her and her staff implicitly! Awesome local business with personal accountability.
Don?t look any further, these guys are top professionals. I highly recommend Derrick, super knowledgeable and easy to communicate with guy.
I recently had the pleasure of working with Phoenix Tax Consultants, and I must say it was an absolute delight! From start to finish, their exceptional service, expertise, and dedication left me thoroughly impressed. If you're in need of reliable tax assistance, look no further!
Bad service for +$550. I would happily pay a premium for great service but they rushed through the entire transaction and waited until the last minute to actually file our taxes. I have questions unanswered and I felt robbed when I walked out of their facility. My wife and I are new to Phoenixville and we were hoping to spend our money locally but I will not be a repeat customer. I highly recommend any new residents to Phoenixville look somewhere else.
Buyer beware. Asked for tax help in retirement and the sales man tried to sell me an annuity without looking at my assets. Avoid at all costs!
I have worked with Julie Brufke Wenger and Chris Furman of Phoenix Tax Consultants for years. They have always exceeded my expectations by streamlining tax filings and providing valuable suggestions for filing as an independent business owner and head of household. Chris has been very responsive and concise in dealing with the IRS especially during the pandemic when getting timely responses is complicated at best. I highly recommend this practice - especially now for those in need of extra guidance given Co
This review is limited to the tax preparation services provided by Attorney Chris Furman. A friend recommended him as she said he did a great job on her taxes, which are quite complicated. I liked that he has both an LLM in tax and has an accounting background as well. He was very patient when he did my return, asking a lot of questions that my prior accountant had not! He educated me on recent changes to the tax code that were relevant to my circumstances, helping me to save money on my return. While I exp
We have used Phoenix Tax Consultants and, in particular, Julie Brufke and Sam Fry, for years. They are very knowledgeable, organized and responsive. They make the accounting process so much easier. I highly recommend using their services for personal or business tax prep and accounting.
The owner of this agency is extremely rude and condescending. She will attack you for "living off the governement" even when she has your W2s in her possession that clearly indicate you do not. She price gouges you and similar to another review, charges 5 times what online services do, just to get the same refund amount.
2nd year I used this service, last year was complicated with 2 states and 4 jobs between my spouse and I. This year was a little easier tax wise, but if I HAVE to pay to get my taxes done (with some online form) I am at a point where the 2 hrs to gather the docs+ 15 mins to upload is worth getting 1-2 weekend days back from answering the questions and hoping I wasn't committing some form of inadvertent tax fraud. Also, I was late to the game, but they still turned it around within the week to file on time.
STAY AWAY! What a scam! "James" had our files for a week before he gave us an estimate. It was so outrageous that we wanted to get a quote elsewhere, but they took that ability away when they held the files for 5 business days without doing anything. James then refused to take responsilbility and only offered to send the files back. His boss, Julie then tells me the same thing. Just curious, is there anyone at this company willing to take responsibility for their mistakes? These guys shouldn't be in busines
Please DO NOT go to this place! Stay Away! Very unprofessional. After no return phone calls, no explanation what was going on with our taxes. After having our paperwork for over 10 days the person on the phone stated we owed over $9K in taxes. We have never owed and always got a return back. We decided to pick up our paperwork and not do our taxes there. They charged us $320 for services rendered. The problem with this is there was absolutely no communication whatsoever with this place. No return c
I recently made the switch from the corporate world to self-employed small business owner and Chris helped me every step of the way when it came time to maximizing deductions, finding tax breaks, etc. Great accountant, great guy, great experience!!!
It took them 6 (six) months to submit standard Federal, PA, and Colorado tax reports. The service cost was $475+. They also did not provide any pricing ahead of time either. Do yourself a favor and use one of the existing online services for a fraction of this cost or use any other tax consultant in the area.
After years of stresful tax filings, PTC took the time to make me feel confident that I was getting every dollar back, will use again
BEST ever experience... Julie and her Team are highly knowledge and thorough in all that they do. Would highly recommend them for all your tax and financial needs
Chris Furman is really knowledgeable and super helpful. Call him for all your tax needs. You won?t be disappointed!
I came in with a slightly complicated tax problem. I came out with solved problems and a very reasonable quotes. Definitely recommend the place.
Great experience. Very professional and super informative about their field. Couldn?t recommend more.
Great experience for several years now
Look for a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license, which ensures they’ve passed rigorous exams and meet state requirements. Check for relevant experience in your industry, additional certifications like CFA or CMA, and membership in professional organizations like the AICPA. Verify their credentials through state licensing boards.
Use online directories like the AICPA, CPAverify, or state CPA societies. Search platforms like Yelp or Google for local CPAs with reviews. Ask for referrals from business associates, friends, or financial advisors. Local chambers of commerce can also provide recommendations.
A CPA is a licensed professional who has passed the CPA exam and met state requirements for education and experience. An accountant may lack this certification and could have varying levels of expertise. For complex tasks like tax audits or financial reporting, a CPA is typically more qualified.
Ask about their experience with your specific financial needs, such as tax preparation, small business accounting, or estate planning. Review their website or LinkedIn for case studies or client testimonials. Inquire about their client base to ensure they handle similar financial situations.
Yes, reviews provide insight into a CPA’s reliability, communication, and performance. Check platforms like Google, Yelp, or the Better Business Bureau for client feedback. Look for patterns in reviews, but verify their authenticity, as some may be biased or outdated.
Visit your state’s Board of Accountancy website or use CPAverify.org to check a CPA’s license status. Confirm their license is active and check for any disciplinary actions or complaints. This ensures they’re in good standing and meet professional standards.
Ask about their experience with your financial needs, fee structure, availability, and communication style. Inquire how they handle tax filings, audits, or financial planning. Ask for references or examples of similar work to assess their expertise and fit.
Fees vary based on location, services, and complexity. Basic tax preparation may cost $150-$500, while business accounting or audits can range from $1,000 to $10,000+. Request a detailed fee structure upfront and compare quotes from multiple CPAs.
Yes, many CPAs offer remote services through secure online platforms for document sharing and virtual consultations. Ensure they use encrypted tools for data security. Remote CPAs can be effective if they understand your local tax laws or business regulations.
During consultations, evaluate their ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly. Ask sample questions about taxes or financial strategies and note their responsiveness and clarity. Good communication ensures you understand their advice and fosters a productive relationship.
Beware of CPAs who guarantee specific tax refunds, lack a valid license, or have disciplinary actions on record. Avoid those with poor communication, vague fee structures, or negative reviews highlighting unethical behavior. Always verify their credentials independently.
Large firms offer more resources and specialized teams but may charge higher fees. Solo practitioners often provide personalized service and lower costs but may have limited availability. Choose based on your needs, budget, and preference for personalized attention.
For individuals, annual meetings for tax preparation may suffice. Businesses may need quarterly or monthly check-ins for bookkeeping, tax planning, or financial reporting. Discuss your needs upfront to establish a meeting schedule that aligns with your financial goals.
Yes, many CPAs handle both, but confirm their expertise in both areas. Ask about their experience managing personal taxes and business accounting simultaneously. Ensure they can balance both without compromising attention to your specific financial needs.
Discuss concerns directly with your CPA to resolve issues. If unresolved, check your contract for termination terms. Seek a new CPA by researching reviews, credentials, and referrals. Request your financial records to ensure a smooth transition to a new professional.
