This is the worst accounting experience of my life. I've owned 8 businesses over the years and worked with 5 total accounting companies. I thought Pixels rate was reasonable and their rating was solid. Communication was poor. They overpaid my sales tax by thousands of dollars. They overstated my income by 5 figures - which seems like just an abdication of their basic responsibilities. Terrible experience, highly disappointed. I hired someone new who has spent untold hours cleaning up this mess from
I will never use this company again. The worst!!! If you want your documents to be sitting and not being worked on while they tell you, they are working on it they are telling a BOLD FACE LIE!!! I took back my documents after they have held it for over 2 weeks. And when I asked for my money back these dirty doers said oh no nonrefundable. Next time I will be sitting down talking to a CPA not this nonsense. What a SCAM!!!
Taxes are never fun to do and I?m now at a point in my life where mine are too complicated for my little brain to handle. Thankfulyl Misty and everyone at Pixel took care of everything and fixed my (many) mistakes. During one meeting with Misty she had me crying with laughter about taxes which I didn?t think was possible. Be warned, Misty shoots from the hip and keeps it real with her clients which I really appreciate. 10/10 would recommend and I?ll be back next year! Thank you Pixel
I recommend Misty and her team to all of my clients. I?ve experienced bad CPA?s and Misty is not it? she is knowledgeable, personable, always willing to help and is 100% in her clients corner and of course NOT condescending like most CPA?s are. I highly recommend her to anyone especially business owners who want their business to succeed.
I?m really just wondering why Google doesn?t have the option to give MORE than 5 stars? Pixel Fianacial has been absolutely delightful to work with over last 7 years on behalf of myself and my business. Emails are always promptly responded to whenever I have a quick question. Same with phone calls. Honestly, I can?t remember when I?ve called during their business hours and I haven?t recieved an immediate answer. The owners seem to always go above and beyond to make sure their clients are well taken care of.
Misty IS one of the best and most professional people I have ever worked with. When my CPA (due to health issues) was unable to do my taxes Misty, on short notice took me on as a client. Her follow up is amazing, her ability to communicate effectively and handle me, especially, is amazing. She has the ability to explain to you a very complex situation in a manor that even I can understand. Look no farther than Misty and Pixel to handle all of your accounting and tax needs.
I would not recommend anyone to use this business. Misty, Andrew and her staff are nasty, rude, unprofessional and gave me the run around for months to get taxes completed. Wouldn't return phone calls or emails and when they did it was in a passive aggressive manner. Maybe that is just how they treat melanated customers, who knows! Luckily, I found a legit firm that completed all my tax stuff in a week. Please RUN if considering this place. Don't even deserve the 1 star to be honest. SHAME!
Misty is very unprofessional and has terrible phone etiquette. I called with the a concern and she wouldn?t shut up long enough for me to even explain my situation. A real life Karen over the phone. I will never do business with them. I am so sorry who I was doing business sold their company to this place. Because I rather much go back to the source of the issue instead of dealing with Misty. Rude and unprofessional. I hang up on her because I don?t argue with loud and boisterous people. I wonder if she wo
This accounting firm should have a day fully devoted to it in celebration for how amazing they are to their clients. I didn't know working with a CPA could be easy, stress free, and dare I say, fun. Misty is doing great things to help me and my business and I couldn't be more grateful for her and this company.
Misty and Nichole are so thorough and approachable with all my book keeping and accounting needs. I have been with them since the beginning and so thankful for their knowledge and expertise. I would be lost without them. They have saved my thousands of dollars ??????????????
I've used Pixel Financial since starting my own business back in 2015. They have successfully prepared my taxes each year and I couldn't be happier. As a military spouse with a husband who does not claim VA as his home of record, it was important to me to find a company able to manage both a small business and military pay. Thankful for their expertise!
Misty, Nichole and the team at Pixel really know their stuff. Since hiring them our books have never been cleaner or more accurate. I highly recommend them to anyone looking to take the stress out of book keeping in their business.
Misty and her team of brilliant yet witty professionals will make you wonder why you hated taxes so much! They make the whole process so painless and are always happy to break things down for those of us who are visual people and not numbers people :) I'm kicking myself for not using them sooner, so save yourself a lot of headaches by calling them immediately!
We LOVE our team at Pixel Financial Group! They help us both professionally and personally. They are communicative (over multiple platforms), timely, and fun! We recommend them to our family, friends, and business colleagues!
Misty was very patient and walked us through every step of a very stressful tax season. Thank you so much!
Working with Brian is truly a pleasure. He is so knowledgeable and is helping me to save money and get organized.
Look for a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license, which ensures they’ve passed rigorous exams and meet state requirements. Check for relevant experience in your industry, additional certifications like CFA or CMA, and membership in professional organizations like the AICPA. Verify their credentials through state licensing boards.
Use online directories like the AICPA, CPAverify, or state CPA societies. Search platforms like Yelp or Google for local CPAs with reviews. Ask for referrals from business associates, friends, or financial advisors. Local chambers of commerce can also provide recommendations.
A CPA is a licensed professional who has passed the CPA exam and met state requirements for education and experience. An accountant may lack this certification and could have varying levels of expertise. For complex tasks like tax audits or financial reporting, a CPA is typically more qualified.
Ask about their experience with your specific financial needs, such as tax preparation, small business accounting, or estate planning. Review their website or LinkedIn for case studies or client testimonials. Inquire about their client base to ensure they handle similar financial situations.
Yes, reviews provide insight into a CPA’s reliability, communication, and performance. Check platforms like Google, Yelp, or the Better Business Bureau for client feedback. Look for patterns in reviews, but verify their authenticity, as some may be biased or outdated.
Visit your state’s Board of Accountancy website or use CPAverify.org to check a CPA’s license status. Confirm their license is active and check for any disciplinary actions or complaints. This ensures they’re in good standing and meet professional standards.
Ask about their experience with your financial needs, fee structure, availability, and communication style. Inquire how they handle tax filings, audits, or financial planning. Ask for references or examples of similar work to assess their expertise and fit.
Fees vary based on location, services, and complexity. Basic tax preparation may cost $150-$500, while business accounting or audits can range from $1,000 to $10,000+. Request a detailed fee structure upfront and compare quotes from multiple CPAs.
Yes, many CPAs offer remote services through secure online platforms for document sharing and virtual consultations. Ensure they use encrypted tools for data security. Remote CPAs can be effective if they understand your local tax laws or business regulations.
During consultations, evaluate their ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly. Ask sample questions about taxes or financial strategies and note their responsiveness and clarity. Good communication ensures you understand their advice and fosters a productive relationship.
Beware of CPAs who guarantee specific tax refunds, lack a valid license, or have disciplinary actions on record. Avoid those with poor communication, vague fee structures, or negative reviews highlighting unethical behavior. Always verify their credentials independently.
Large firms offer more resources and specialized teams but may charge higher fees. Solo practitioners often provide personalized service and lower costs but may have limited availability. Choose based on your needs, budget, and preference for personalized attention.
For individuals, annual meetings for tax preparation may suffice. Businesses may need quarterly or monthly check-ins for bookkeeping, tax planning, or financial reporting. Discuss your needs upfront to establish a meeting schedule that aligns with your financial goals.
Yes, many CPAs handle both, but confirm their expertise in both areas. Ask about their experience managing personal taxes and business accounting simultaneously. Ensure they can balance both without compromising attention to your specific financial needs.
Discuss concerns directly with your CPA to resolve issues. If unresolved, check your contract for termination terms. Seek a new CPA by researching reviews, credentials, and referrals. Request your financial records to ensure a smooth transition to a new professional.
