We are a family with a small business that practices Dave Ramsey?s financial methods, and found Praxis CPA a number of years ago through Dave?s recommended list. Jason and Shana are amazing. They?ve saved us more money and trouble than we could?ve imagined! A good CPA is not cheap, but worth every penny. We had some terrible experiences in the past, and Praxis has become one of the best business investments we?ve ever made. Our previous CPAs had next to no communication, frequent late filings, and amendme
Jason was prompt, professional, and thorough. He did a great job summarizing my tax return results. I am VERY grateful!
The price was a major issue. Our taxes weren?t complicated at all. My recent college graduate son, had minimal statements and schedules. W2, 1099-int. Price $500. I tried negotiating his. No luck. My taxes equally uncomplicated. Price $1000. Felt like it was a way of saying, we don?t want your business.
Praxis may do good taxes/CPA work, but they are disrespectful and do not like hard questions being asked. They want you to send them all your stuff; then "trust" they will handle it. When educated members of society ask questions and want to be informed, Jason and his staff (wife) get defensive and give you a blind "no longer representing you letter". Sorry that offends you, but most educated members of society like to respectfully be informed how their tax situation is and have a reasonable right to ask ha
Jason sat down with me prior to year's end so we could meet face to face & he could understand our situation prior to processing the tax return. He answered any question I had & was great at breaking things down into pieces I could understand. He was very thorough in our summary & the process was (fairly) painless, despite the nature of tax season. We will no longer dread tax time as we feel so much more prepared going into next year. Coming from someone who has used Turbo Tax for years out of convenience,
Praxis did an absolutely amazing job with our taxes. Completed in minimum time and maximized deductions.
What a game changer from our last CPA! We couldn't be happier. The process from personal to business taxes, is stress free and absolutely seamless. Jason and his wife are professional, excellent communicators, and so much more! We are incredibly thankful to have been recommended to you!
Jason has been the key component in helping me navigate my taxes after the passing of my mother. After her passing, I became trustee of her estate and with that role came many tax issues. I had no idea where to start. Jason thoughtfully and thoroughly helped me navigate through making many tough financial decisions and guided me through this difficult tax season. I will definitely be recommending his services to friends and family.
Jason and Shana have taken very good care of us over the years. They have streamlined the info gathering process immensely and processed our returns very quickly. Well worth it to have the peace of mind our taxes have been done right.
Always a pleasure working with Jason & Shana! A+ service all the way!
The forms to upload documents and answer questions on tax filing status are well laid out. They remember information year to year and help correct by reaching out to double check which is great. After returns are done, they send out a summary of the returns and changes YoY which is nice to understand. Thank you!
Jason is pretty much everything I wanted a CPA to be. He asks me about information that I would never have thought could impact my taxes, but it does. More than that, he's answered every question I've had, and done so in clear understandable terms.
AMAZING JOB! We have seen Jason and his wife for years now and love the job and breakdown of everything that they give us. We are very pleased!
We appreciate Jason's knowledge and customer service! He makes the tax process easy and low stress. We highly recommend Praxis CPA!
Excellent service working with this company! Jason is a pleasure to work with making his work a breeze and his side passion of cars keeps the conversation going! Excellent office to help clients with CPA work! Highly recommend
Thanks for the responsiveness over my finances and concerns for future savings. Denise Falcon
Really easy process and received a great explanation on our results compared to previous years. It feels great to be able to trust that our taxes will be filed correctly and in a timely manner.
Excellent job on our taxes for a fair price. In addition, they prepared the paperwork for us to apply for a homestead exemption for lower property taxes.
Always a great experience with Praxis. They?ve been handling my affairs for many years and it?s been amazing.
Jason knows what he?s doing, and does a good job of explaining things. Highly recommend him.
Truly a painless experience as i only had to google a couple of terms i am not familiar with on a daily basis. Thank you
Look for a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license, which ensures they’ve passed rigorous exams and meet state requirements. Check for relevant experience in your industry, additional certifications like CFA or CMA, and membership in professional organizations like the AICPA. Verify their credentials through state licensing boards.
Use online directories like the AICPA, CPAverify, or state CPA societies. Search platforms like Yelp or Google for local CPAs with reviews. Ask for referrals from business associates, friends, or financial advisors. Local chambers of commerce can also provide recommendations.
A CPA is a licensed professional who has passed the CPA exam and met state requirements for education and experience. An accountant may lack this certification and could have varying levels of expertise. For complex tasks like tax audits or financial reporting, a CPA is typically more qualified.
Ask about their experience with your specific financial needs, such as tax preparation, small business accounting, or estate planning. Review their website or LinkedIn for case studies or client testimonials. Inquire about their client base to ensure they handle similar financial situations.
Yes, reviews provide insight into a CPA’s reliability, communication, and performance. Check platforms like Google, Yelp, or the Better Business Bureau for client feedback. Look for patterns in reviews, but verify their authenticity, as some may be biased or outdated.
Visit your state’s Board of Accountancy website or use CPAverify.org to check a CPA’s license status. Confirm their license is active and check for any disciplinary actions or complaints. This ensures they’re in good standing and meet professional standards.
Ask about their experience with your financial needs, fee structure, availability, and communication style. Inquire how they handle tax filings, audits, or financial planning. Ask for references or examples of similar work to assess their expertise and fit.
Fees vary based on location, services, and complexity. Basic tax preparation may cost $150-$500, while business accounting or audits can range from $1,000 to $10,000+. Request a detailed fee structure upfront and compare quotes from multiple CPAs.
Yes, many CPAs offer remote services through secure online platforms for document sharing and virtual consultations. Ensure they use encrypted tools for data security. Remote CPAs can be effective if they understand your local tax laws or business regulations.
During consultations, evaluate their ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly. Ask sample questions about taxes or financial strategies and note their responsiveness and clarity. Good communication ensures you understand their advice and fosters a productive relationship.
Beware of CPAs who guarantee specific tax refunds, lack a valid license, or have disciplinary actions on record. Avoid those with poor communication, vague fee structures, or negative reviews highlighting unethical behavior. Always verify their credentials independently.
Large firms offer more resources and specialized teams but may charge higher fees. Solo practitioners often provide personalized service and lower costs but may have limited availability. Choose based on your needs, budget, and preference for personalized attention.
For individuals, annual meetings for tax preparation may suffice. Businesses may need quarterly or monthly check-ins for bookkeeping, tax planning, or financial reporting. Discuss your needs upfront to establish a meeting schedule that aligns with your financial goals.
Yes, many CPAs handle both, but confirm their expertise in both areas. Ask about their experience managing personal taxes and business accounting simultaneously. Ensure they can balance both without compromising attention to your specific financial needs.
Discuss concerns directly with your CPA to resolve issues. If unresolved, check your contract for termination terms. Seek a new CPA by researching reviews, credentials, and referrals. Request your financial records to ensure a smooth transition to a new professional.
