Joel is extremely knowledgeable, kind, and professional. We have used Prospect Financial to help us with our taxes for several years. Our tax returns include business, rental, and personal forms. I feel relieved each year knowing that we have written off every deduction possible in an ethical, risk-free way.
First: A Mr. Hendricks sends email telling me to auto sign a document. I don't know a Hendricks. When I receive email to auto sign a document, which I never have before, I want to know why and who. I do not open mail like this it goes to trash. I received a second email with the same lack of information from the same sender. I gathered it had to do with tax preparation. Since Prosepect does my taxes I called them. Seems my long time tax guy had left and my account was forwarded to Mr. Hendriks. I w
As soon as we launched our first business 6 years ago, I began to dread tax season. I consider myself a fairly organized person, but it would still take me weeks (or months) to get everything together to file our personal and business tax returns. That all changed a couple of years ago. We found John at Prospect Financial Solutions through Dave Ramsey's site and could not be more thankful! He has helped us in so many ways, with both our personal and business finances. In addition to using their tax preparat
I have used Prospect Financial for personal and my business, for 5 years and Bakers Taxes which is a company they purchased for a minimum of 5 years prior. I feel confident that they give me the best service and advice. I was audited a year ago. John represented me in my home with the auditor. John answered all the auditors' questions and had prepared papers the auditor requested available to review. Thank you Prospect Financial for the peace of mind. And all your good work. I wish you and Joel continued
Awesome! John Hopkins at Prospect Financial is absolutely amazing! After using H&R Block for years, I'll never go back - I'm sticking with John and Prospect Financial. He goes out of his way to provide not only fast and efficient tax services, but shares his wealth of knowledge freely - a true asset to my business! Thanks John!
I had always used either TurboTax or H&R Block but I got married this last year and wasn't 100% on doing it myself. We were referred to John through a family member. He did a great job and was very prompt. Great service, would definitely use him again.
Everyone should be using John Hopkins at Prospect Financial Solutions for their taxes. According to TurboTax, I was supposed to owe money to the IRS, but thank God I didn't use that service and I went to John instead. John gave me excellent advice and guidance and I am sure I will be working with him for years to come.
My wife and I have used Prospect Financial Solutions for all our tax needs for years now. We interviewed five other individuals/companies and decided to use for the following reasons: John and Joel are knowledgeable and extremely helpful. They listen to our thoughts, our hopes and reasons and then inform us how to best pursue those dreams. They are young enough to grow with and have great senses of humor.
Just can't say enough good things about Prospect Financial Solutions. Our 4th year of depending on John to "get it right" and he does not disappoint. Easy to work with, professional, and prompt. Two thumbs up and highly recommended.
I had John Hopkins from Prospect Financial redo my taxes after getting a not so fun letter from the IRS claiming I owe them several thousand dollars for 2012. I have done my taxes using Turbotax my self for several years and thought it was pretty complete. John amended my return, cancelling most of the debt down to few hundred dollars. I also had him re-check my 2013 return. He found another $500. Guess who did my taxes for 2014? Not me, nor will I ever again. I consider John not only my accountant but my
I would highly recommend this firm for all of your financial needs. Mr. Hendricks has helped my family and I for years during tax season. Very professional and always willing to help with anything you may have questions about. Much thanks to Prospect Financial and Joel Hendricks!
Prospect Financial Solutions was very thorough and professional. My wife and I are happy with their service and we will be returning in the new year. We referred my Mother-In-Law and she benefitted from their knowledge of her situation. She then referred them to a friend of hers. We are all pleased with Prospect Financial Solutions.
First time and will alway come back. John was professional, friendly, and personable. I am Confidant this was where I've been looked for! They are open year round so have a full time investment to provide to our community the best possible service! Never again will I have H&R blocks poor customer service at high price. If you need someone you can trust they are the place to call!
John is the Yoda of taxes! Had an awful experience with my previous CPA when I had my small business. When I turned it over to John, after interviewing several CPAs, John was the only one with a detailed plan to get my business back on track and STOP paying high taxes!
John and team are great. My wife and I had a complex tax year and a close deadline for filing. John went the extra effort to not only help but to also answer all of our questions. Highly recommended.
Had a great experience with this company. I am a business owner and found out about a new tax rule at the last minute. I needed 1099s sent out right away. It was the last day to do it and to top it off it was 2 o'clock in the afternoon. When I called the people at this business they were so helpful and got on my paperwork right away and we're able to get them sent out that day. Which saved me alot of money. Sooo happy with their service. I will be using them for all of my tax needs.
All these reviews are right on point when talking about John. He is very knowledgeable in his field and has helped me through some muddy waters. I refer everyone I know over to him. If you are looking for a tax professional, call him right now! Very reasonably priced for the service you get.
John Helped me to understand how I should be Keeping track of my income/expenses/bank accounts etc. and he did it in a way that was understandable and also made me feel at ease. I for the first time in many years am ready for taxes this year. Thank you john!
Started to use John Hopkins last year and used him again this year. This man (John Hopkins) knows his stuff when it comes to taxes, etc. I highly recommend his services! You won't be disappointed. David P.
I have the gone to John for 10+ year snow! He is an amazing tax professional! Thank you John for making something so annoying easy.
For years we did our own taxes with other more automated services. I only wish we'd found Prospect sooner! They rock! And they do so much more than just taxes. We feel so much more prepared. We feel confident!!
John did our taxes. He was very professional and thorough. Also, the office staff were very friendly and made the experience a lot easier.
Outstanding customer service!! Joel was very very helpful and professional when I was starting out my small business. He was very detailed and informative in answering all the questions I had. Highly recommend this company for all your small business financial questions and advice.
Joel Hendricks and the rest of the staff are very friendly, trustworthy, and very knowledgeable. Their taxes services and other business services are outstanding!
Another absolutely satisfied customer! Thanks John Hopkins! I learned so much and you stretched my vision! And a fantastic tax return!
High praise!!! John Hopkins is the real deal! A man who brings integrity and his ninja tax skills into every job!
Highly do NOT recommend this place. It?s unprofessional and they will not bother to even reply to emails. They will make mistakes on your taxes and refuse to talk about it and leave you to find someone else to fix their mistakes.
Just closed my refi with Amber at Prospect Financial. Great rates and fast service. Thanks for the help ??
These guys are the best. They have your best interest in mind always. Ruth Chafin
Professional, knowledgeable and experienced. I will be returning to Prospect Financial every year for my tax services. I can?t elaborate enough how helpful they are?
Look for a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license, which ensures they’ve passed rigorous exams and meet state requirements. Check for relevant experience in your industry, additional certifications like CFA or CMA, and membership in professional organizations like the AICPA. Verify their credentials through state licensing boards.
Use online directories like the AICPA, CPAverify, or state CPA societies. Search platforms like Yelp or Google for local CPAs with reviews. Ask for referrals from business associates, friends, or financial advisors. Local chambers of commerce can also provide recommendations.
A CPA is a licensed professional who has passed the CPA exam and met state requirements for education and experience. An accountant may lack this certification and could have varying levels of expertise. For complex tasks like tax audits or financial reporting, a CPA is typically more qualified.
Ask about their experience with your specific financial needs, such as tax preparation, small business accounting, or estate planning. Review their website or LinkedIn for case studies or client testimonials. Inquire about their client base to ensure they handle similar financial situations.
Yes, reviews provide insight into a CPA’s reliability, communication, and performance. Check platforms like Google, Yelp, or the Better Business Bureau for client feedback. Look for patterns in reviews, but verify their authenticity, as some may be biased or outdated.
Visit your state’s Board of Accountancy website or use CPAverify.org to check a CPA’s license status. Confirm their license is active and check for any disciplinary actions or complaints. This ensures they’re in good standing and meet professional standards.
Ask about their experience with your financial needs, fee structure, availability, and communication style. Inquire how they handle tax filings, audits, or financial planning. Ask for references or examples of similar work to assess their expertise and fit.
Fees vary based on location, services, and complexity. Basic tax preparation may cost $150-$500, while business accounting or audits can range from $1,000 to $10,000+. Request a detailed fee structure upfront and compare quotes from multiple CPAs.
Yes, many CPAs offer remote services through secure online platforms for document sharing and virtual consultations. Ensure they use encrypted tools for data security. Remote CPAs can be effective if they understand your local tax laws or business regulations.
During consultations, evaluate their ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly. Ask sample questions about taxes or financial strategies and note their responsiveness and clarity. Good communication ensures you understand their advice and fosters a productive relationship.
Beware of CPAs who guarantee specific tax refunds, lack a valid license, or have disciplinary actions on record. Avoid those with poor communication, vague fee structures, or negative reviews highlighting unethical behavior. Always verify their credentials independently.
Large firms offer more resources and specialized teams but may charge higher fees. Solo practitioners often provide personalized service and lower costs but may have limited availability. Choose based on your needs, budget, and preference for personalized attention.
For individuals, annual meetings for tax preparation may suffice. Businesses may need quarterly or monthly check-ins for bookkeeping, tax planning, or financial reporting. Discuss your needs upfront to establish a meeting schedule that aligns with your financial goals.
Yes, many CPAs handle both, but confirm their expertise in both areas. Ask about their experience managing personal taxes and business accounting simultaneously. Ensure they can balance both without compromising attention to your specific financial needs.
Discuss concerns directly with your CPA to resolve issues. If unresolved, check your contract for termination terms. Seek a new CPA by researching reviews, credentials, and referrals. Request your financial records to ensure a smooth transition to a new professional.
