Ron did a wonderful job helping my family with our Estate tax and personal returns. It was a difficult time for our family and he made it easy for us. I highly recommend him.
I found Ron through an internet search of tax professionals in my area, got a good feeling after speaking with him and went with his services in setting up a few things for my small business. Not only did he help me save way more than I expected on my tax returns but he helped me and my family realize our dream of owning a home. During a tax review, I mentioned it was my goal to purchase a home in the next year, knowing it was a little harder being self employed. Ron referred me to a colleague of his and ma

He takes the time to sit down with me and ask the appropriate questions each year to ensure that I am getting the best return possible. He also makes sure I understand every line item on my return. I send everyone I know to Ron because I know without doubt he will give them the same white glove service that he has given me.

I would absolutely recommend RJ Walters and Associates to anyone who needs a very knowledgeable and friendly accountant.
Ron happily spent some of his *personal* time helping everyone at my workplace figure out our taxes! He was super helpful, and told us so much valuable information. Can't recommend enough.
Found Ron on a google search. Our corporate tax returns were becoming too difficult for us to figure out. After our conversation with Ron we realized we were missing out on many deductions. Ron helped us close out our old business and set up things correctly under the new business. Very pleased with his service. Can understand why he has so many great reviews!
Ron is super insightful and amazing at his job! He has been doing this long enough that he is able to answer any question you have with confidence. He answered so many questions for my team and me, and was able to clearly explain many tax-related topics.

I've had many accountants over the years and while most have been very good, Ron is truly exceptional. He helped my family with a difficult situation and accomplished what I didn't think would be possible. Most importantly, he walked us through the process, explaining things every step of the way with compassion and patience. Ron, it doesn't matter if I live in Atlanta or move out of the state, you'll be with me every step of the way. Thank you, my friend. FGM
Ron and his team are some of the best people to work with. We came to him multiple times in the years we've known him for help with tax advice and preparation! We have recommended him time and time again.
If you?re looking for an accountant that is knowledgeable, experienced and one you can trust then I highly recommend Ron. I?ve used Ron for several years and my only regret is not hiring him sooner.
RJ Walters and Associates staff was very professional and courteous to work with. First class tax service for a affordable rate. Ron Walters staff exceeded all of my expectations! Thanks Ron
Ron is a very nice and knowledgable man. he has been in the business for over 30 years and knows everything about any category related to taxes. highly recommended.
I hardly ever write reviews, but I felt like there needed to be some fair balance for this accountant because I had a terrible experience. To begin with, he charged me 25% more than he quoted me without any explanation. Second, he didn't complete my taxes in time for the April 15th deadline and never contacted me to tell me he was filing an extension. I contacted him a week or two after the deadline and that's when he told me. We set an appointment for two weeks out to review my "completed" return, but when
As a 1099 self employed person, Ron really helped me out at the end of the year to nail down exactly what I can deduct and helped me get the most of my tax deduction!

Ron knows his stuff! He was able to answer all of our questions and made taxes easy to understand! Thank you Ron
HUGE SHAM, no CPA. This place is not what all these reviews make it out to be. Not sure if it is under new ownership or something but, after I received my tax consultation I looked up RJ/Ron and found out he is not a CPA. I am not sure about the advice he has given me but, I will not be sending him the remainder of my information. Very disappointed!
Highly recommend Ron and his team, great knowledge, thorough and happy to chat through any of my questions!
Ron came in at the end of the year and gave me so much valuable information. Highly Recommend!

Look for a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license, which ensures they’ve passed rigorous exams and meet state requirements. Check for relevant experience in your industry, additional certifications like CFA or CMA, and membership in professional organizations like the AICPA. Verify their credentials through state licensing boards.
Use online directories like the AICPA, CPAverify, or state CPA societies. Search platforms like Yelp or Google for local CPAs with reviews. Ask for referrals from business associates, friends, or financial advisors. Local chambers of commerce can also provide recommendations.
A CPA is a licensed professional who has passed the CPA exam and met state requirements for education and experience. An accountant may lack this certification and could have varying levels of expertise. For complex tasks like tax audits or financial reporting, a CPA is typically more qualified.
Ask about their experience with your specific financial needs, such as tax preparation, small business accounting, or estate planning. Review their website or LinkedIn for case studies or client testimonials. Inquire about their client base to ensure they handle similar financial situations.
Yes, reviews provide insight into a CPA’s reliability, communication, and performance. Check platforms like Google, Yelp, or the Better Business Bureau for client feedback. Look for patterns in reviews, but verify their authenticity, as some may be biased or outdated.
Visit your state’s Board of Accountancy website or use CPAverify.org to check a CPA’s license status. Confirm their license is active and check for any disciplinary actions or complaints. This ensures they’re in good standing and meet professional standards.
Ask about their experience with your financial needs, fee structure, availability, and communication style. Inquire how they handle tax filings, audits, or financial planning. Ask for references or examples of similar work to assess their expertise and fit.
Fees vary based on location, services, and complexity. Basic tax preparation may cost $150-$500, while business accounting or audits can range from $1,000 to $10,000+. Request a detailed fee structure upfront and compare quotes from multiple CPAs.
Yes, many CPAs offer remote services through secure online platforms for document sharing and virtual consultations. Ensure they use encrypted tools for data security. Remote CPAs can be effective if they understand your local tax laws or business regulations.
During consultations, evaluate their ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly. Ask sample questions about taxes or financial strategies and note their responsiveness and clarity. Good communication ensures you understand their advice and fosters a productive relationship.
Beware of CPAs who guarantee specific tax refunds, lack a valid license, or have disciplinary actions on record. Avoid those with poor communication, vague fee structures, or negative reviews highlighting unethical behavior. Always verify their credentials independently.
Large firms offer more resources and specialized teams but may charge higher fees. Solo practitioners often provide personalized service and lower costs but may have limited availability. Choose based on your needs, budget, and preference for personalized attention.
For individuals, annual meetings for tax preparation may suffice. Businesses may need quarterly or monthly check-ins for bookkeeping, tax planning, or financial reporting. Discuss your needs upfront to establish a meeting schedule that aligns with your financial goals.
Yes, many CPAs handle both, but confirm their expertise in both areas. Ask about their experience managing personal taxes and business accounting simultaneously. Ensure they can balance both without compromising attention to your specific financial needs.
Discuss concerns directly with your CPA to resolve issues. If unresolved, check your contract for termination terms. Seek a new CPA by researching reviews, credentials, and referrals. Request your financial records to ensure a smooth transition to a new professional.
