I was unable to set up my online FTB account for various companies. Roger, while I was on the phone with him, was able to set up and get me access to the accounts. Realm has been a great asset to our business, Highly recommended.
Realm has really helped me with a somewhat complicated tax situation. In short, our tax filing includes a Trust, as well as a recent death of a family member, and the need for an amended return as well. And, like all of you, not only do we need to file IRS returns, but we also have to deal with the State! Roger has been a great communicator. Willing to talk on the phone when needed, and does respond with my email needs. The tax situation in this country at times is really difficult. I don't really know
Roger is a very patient and helpful person. He was able to answer all of my questions and provide me with wonderful tax advice. I was so honored that he took the time to call me personally and patiently walked me through all that I did not know.
Working with Roger & Team was quick and easy! They made taxes a breeze. Would highly recommend working with them.
Such a sad thing to say, but Realm has completely destroyed the business that Gary and Mike spent decades building before they retired last year. Look up Realm Businesses & Tax Advisory on Yelp and you'll see more one star reviews and angry clients like me. My partner submitted all his paperwork a month before the deadline, but never received a draft return until deadline day. The week prior to the deadline, he left voicemails and e-mails but received no response. Finally, the morning of deadline day, I
Roger and the Realm Business & TA team have been extremely helpful, patient, and considerate throughout my partnership with their firm. Whether making time for scheduled 1:1 meetings, quick response to email questions, or accepting impromptu calls- I've had nothing but the finest level of support in each instance. If you're looking for top notch tax assistance, consultative services and insightful financial advice, then I'd highly recommend this business. Customer for life!
Gary Wayland has been my tax accountant and CPA for over 25 years. He's knowledgeable, timely, and efficient. He's been proactive on discovered issues, and returned my calls quickly. Great service. Highly recommend.
Gary and his team are amazing. We run several companies and have several tax returns to file every year. They make the process easy and stress free. Gary is the best in the business!
Gary Wayland is an excellent CPA and has been in business in the South Bay for decades. Always works efficiently and accurately on the law office and personal taxes. Great overall. I give his firm my highest recommendation.
Was referred to this firm since my MIL/BIL uses them. I asked if they could just do a simple personal tax return for us. Was sent back a form letter rejection saying they were not taking clients on. My extended family spends a lot money with this firm. Pretty disappointing "customer service." I will be passing this experience on.
Excellent accounting service! Very professional. They stay on top of the latest tax laws and know how they can benefit our firm come tax season. Gary Wayland, Debbie Reasor and their Team are the very best!
Gary Wayland is an expert. Very knowledgeable, efficient, and reasonable. He defends you big time against IRS inquiries. Should've used him a long time ago
Monday 2/19 Appt @ 2PM: Arrived early and Mike met with me at approx 1:50PM Appt concluded and out the door at 2:15PM with summaries and 2018 tax consequence projections. Monday 2/19 Approx 6PM: Received email filing information and responded. Monday 2/26 Received CA Tax Refund via transfer to personal bank acct. Tuesday 2/27 Received FED Tax Refund via transfer to personal bank acct. Wow - great service!
They acquired the firm that I previously used for nearly 20 years and didn't do my taxes said they would and never did. Even spoke with the new owner and gave them a second chance. Not surprisingly they didn't deliver.
This CPA office of Wayland & Vukadinovich has been doing my taxes for over 30 years. Mike and Gary are surely the best around.
Diligent, honest and caring.
Look for a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license, which ensures they’ve passed rigorous exams and meet state requirements. Check for relevant experience in your industry, additional certifications like CFA or CMA, and membership in professional organizations like the AICPA. Verify their credentials through state licensing boards.
Use online directories like the AICPA, CPAverify, or state CPA societies. Search platforms like Yelp or Google for local CPAs with reviews. Ask for referrals from business associates, friends, or financial advisors. Local chambers of commerce can also provide recommendations.
A CPA is a licensed professional who has passed the CPA exam and met state requirements for education and experience. An accountant may lack this certification and could have varying levels of expertise. For complex tasks like tax audits or financial reporting, a CPA is typically more qualified.
Ask about their experience with your specific financial needs, such as tax preparation, small business accounting, or estate planning. Review their website or LinkedIn for case studies or client testimonials. Inquire about their client base to ensure they handle similar financial situations.
Yes, reviews provide insight into a CPA’s reliability, communication, and performance. Check platforms like Google, Yelp, or the Better Business Bureau for client feedback. Look for patterns in reviews, but verify their authenticity, as some may be biased or outdated.
Visit your state’s Board of Accountancy website or use CPAverify.org to check a CPA’s license status. Confirm their license is active and check for any disciplinary actions or complaints. This ensures they’re in good standing and meet professional standards.
Ask about their experience with your financial needs, fee structure, availability, and communication style. Inquire how they handle tax filings, audits, or financial planning. Ask for references or examples of similar work to assess their expertise and fit.
Fees vary based on location, services, and complexity. Basic tax preparation may cost $150-$500, while business accounting or audits can range from $1,000 to $10,000+. Request a detailed fee structure upfront and compare quotes from multiple CPAs.
Yes, many CPAs offer remote services through secure online platforms for document sharing and virtual consultations. Ensure they use encrypted tools for data security. Remote CPAs can be effective if they understand your local tax laws or business regulations.
During consultations, evaluate their ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly. Ask sample questions about taxes or financial strategies and note their responsiveness and clarity. Good communication ensures you understand their advice and fosters a productive relationship.
Beware of CPAs who guarantee specific tax refunds, lack a valid license, or have disciplinary actions on record. Avoid those with poor communication, vague fee structures, or negative reviews highlighting unethical behavior. Always verify their credentials independently.
Large firms offer more resources and specialized teams but may charge higher fees. Solo practitioners often provide personalized service and lower costs but may have limited availability. Choose based on your needs, budget, and preference for personalized attention.
For individuals, annual meetings for tax preparation may suffice. Businesses may need quarterly or monthly check-ins for bookkeeping, tax planning, or financial reporting. Discuss your needs upfront to establish a meeting schedule that aligns with your financial goals.
Yes, many CPAs handle both, but confirm their expertise in both areas. Ask about their experience managing personal taxes and business accounting simultaneously. Ensure they can balance both without compromising attention to your specific financial needs.
Discuss concerns directly with your CPA to resolve issues. If unresolved, check your contract for termination terms. Seek a new CPA by researching reviews, credentials, and referrals. Request your financial records to ensure a smooth transition to a new professional.
