Review update: I spoke to a nice very informative representative named Gaby. She collected my information contacted the Internal Revenue Service schedule an appointment for me to speak to their legal team. I had 4 year of non filed years and I owed about 12,400 to the IRS. After republic tax filed my returns they settled with the IRS and I didn?t have to pay anything back. My settlement was just approved now I am just waiting on my approval letter and I will get a refund this year for the first time in year
I owed the IRS $12,421 and I was about to have my bank levied. I called them and spoke to Jennifer who insured me they could help. They contacted the IRS and put a hold to the bank levy. Chris from the legal team explained my options regarding different settlements. I just recently started a small business and I needed this IRS crap behind me. Jennifer helped me get all my papers together and got me all the way through the process. It took about 5 months because we were waiting for my tax returns to post wh
I highly recommend Republic Tax for any tax-related services. If you?re behind on your taxes or facing debt with the IRS, I strongly encourage you to contact them. They were instrumental in helping me resolve my case efficiently and effectively. The entire process went smoothly, and I experienced no issues or stress throughout. My caseworker, Jocelin Alpizar , was outstanding?she kept me informed every step of the way and provided excellent support. Republic Tax offers reliable and professional assistance
Beware of Republic Tax Relief ? A Costly and Frustrating Experience If you take a moment to read through the legitimate 1-star reviews for this company, you?ll notice a disturbing trend ? and my experience is no different. Republic Tax Relief promises the world: expert assistance with your tax issues, attorneys working on your behalf, and peace of mind while they ?handle everything.? In reality, they charge outrageous fees and deliver little to no actual help. I?ve personally paid them $1,340, and now, ei
As of today, June 23rd, Republic Tax Relief has been awesome. I have always been skeptical of using these tax companies. But, I decided to take a chance because of I couldn?t get anywhere with the IRS by myself. I had 3 companies on my list, Republic Tax Relief, TRA Tax Relief and Optima Tax Relief. I was about to go with TRA but they were tremendously high, so I decided to call Republic and gave me an affordable price based upon my situation. I never got a chance to call Optima because I was impressed wi
I really enjoyed having Melisa Garcia help me get connected with Republic Tax Relief. I hired this company to help assist me with my IRS tax debt. I was held in the dark for months after signing the contract. A payment was made in December 2024 from my Chapter 7 assets collection of 27K leaving a balance of 5k. Which grew back up to 10k because I was never informed of the payment and Republic Tax Relief never checked my balance. I never received notice from the IRS of the payment or currently balance.I could have paid my debt with the IRS way back in December. This is now June 2025. I sold

I needed some tax help and thankfully I found Republic Tax Relief after a good friend referred me. The process was simple and straightforward and they followed through on what they had said they could do, helping me save a lot of money. They were honest and I feel they really cared about my needs.
I actually look forward to tax season because Jennifer is so friendly, professional, and deeply cares about getting me the biggest refund possible. And thankfully I do always get money back :) Thanks Jennifer!
I cannot say enough how thankful I am that I found Republic Tax Relief. Their staff was so helpful and kind, and helped us out tremendously. I would recommend to anyone out there that needs some assistance with tax issues.
I had high hopes hiring this company to help me resolve my tax issues. I paid them to get me on a payment plan to pay my taxes and keep from getting audited like they promised. I waited 10 months and nothing was done which resulted in me getting audited AND them keeping the money I paid to them to help me. This place should be investigated for scamming people. Very unprofessional and untrustworthy.
This place is nothing but a scam they promise to help you with your tax issues charge an arm and a leg to scam you then they don't even know how to prepare your income tax. They filed mine wrong 2 times and ended up costing us more than we trusted them plz don't use them they are thieves people.
My experience was great i spoke with Anthony and he was very helpful and informative. He advised what my next steps were. i look forward to speaking with him in a few months. i will definitely refer this place moving forward

Look for a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license, which ensures they’ve passed rigorous exams and meet state requirements. Check for relevant experience in your industry, additional certifications like CFA or CMA, and membership in professional organizations like the AICPA. Verify their credentials through state licensing boards.
Use online directories like the AICPA, CPAverify, or state CPA societies. Search platforms like Yelp or Google for local CPAs with reviews. Ask for referrals from business associates, friends, or financial advisors. Local chambers of commerce can also provide recommendations.
A CPA is a licensed professional who has passed the CPA exam and met state requirements for education and experience. An accountant may lack this certification and could have varying levels of expertise. For complex tasks like tax audits or financial reporting, a CPA is typically more qualified.
Ask about their experience with your specific financial needs, such as tax preparation, small business accounting, or estate planning. Review their website or LinkedIn for case studies or client testimonials. Inquire about their client base to ensure they handle similar financial situations.
Yes, reviews provide insight into a CPA’s reliability, communication, and performance. Check platforms like Google, Yelp, or the Better Business Bureau for client feedback. Look for patterns in reviews, but verify their authenticity, as some may be biased or outdated.
Visit your state’s Board of Accountancy website or use CPAverify.org to check a CPA’s license status. Confirm their license is active and check for any disciplinary actions or complaints. This ensures they’re in good standing and meet professional standards.
Ask about their experience with your financial needs, fee structure, availability, and communication style. Inquire how they handle tax filings, audits, or financial planning. Ask for references or examples of similar work to assess their expertise and fit.
Fees vary based on location, services, and complexity. Basic tax preparation may cost $150-$500, while business accounting or audits can range from $1,000 to $10,000+. Request a detailed fee structure upfront and compare quotes from multiple CPAs.
Yes, many CPAs offer remote services through secure online platforms for document sharing and virtual consultations. Ensure they use encrypted tools for data security. Remote CPAs can be effective if they understand your local tax laws or business regulations.
During consultations, evaluate their ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly. Ask sample questions about taxes or financial strategies and note their responsiveness and clarity. Good communication ensures you understand their advice and fosters a productive relationship.
Beware of CPAs who guarantee specific tax refunds, lack a valid license, or have disciplinary actions on record. Avoid those with poor communication, vague fee structures, or negative reviews highlighting unethical behavior. Always verify their credentials independently.
Large firms offer more resources and specialized teams but may charge higher fees. Solo practitioners often provide personalized service and lower costs but may have limited availability. Choose based on your needs, budget, and preference for personalized attention.
For individuals, annual meetings for tax preparation may suffice. Businesses may need quarterly or monthly check-ins for bookkeeping, tax planning, or financial reporting. Discuss your needs upfront to establish a meeting schedule that aligns with your financial goals.
Yes, many CPAs handle both, but confirm their expertise in both areas. Ask about their experience managing personal taxes and business accounting simultaneously. Ensure they can balance both without compromising attention to your specific financial needs.
Discuss concerns directly with your CPA to resolve issues. If unresolved, check your contract for termination terms. Seek a new CPA by researching reviews, credentials, and referrals. Request your financial records to ensure a smooth transition to a new professional.
