We have been with Rohloff Associates for over 20 years. During that time period we have grown considerably and faced many challenges that came with that growth. At every turn Rohloff Associates offered used well researched solid advice contributing to our success. As I approached retirement, I asked Nikki to put together a buy out plan where Eric Johnson could purchase the business from me. She put together a ten year plan which worked flawlessly and enabled the business to continue to grow and allowe
Rohloff Associates has been nothing but top notch from the very beginning, 2+ years. Very professional and knowledgeable in their field as well as quick to respond. The team is incredible to work with and they make things happen. Nikki goes out of her way to achieve the best interest for her clients and is able to strategize for the future of our business. The RA team has helped to organize and clean up several years of very large $ financials for me. I highly recommend Rohloff Associates to anyone in need
We have worked with Rohloff Associates for years and have been very pleased with their professionalism, knowledge, and rely on them for all of our accounting needs. I especially appreciate the prompt responses to any questions that I have. I highly recommend Nikki and her entire team.
My experience with Rohloff and Associates has been amazing! I own a small bussiness and am passionate about what I do but the accounting part of the bussiness is something that I have always dreaded. Nikki and Jill have been so great to work with and I would certainly recommend them to anyone.
Nikki and the Team at Rohloff & Associates have worked with many clients doing either project work or outsourced financial statement preparation. What I hear most often is that Nikki brings her entrepreneurial sense to solve problems and explain financing in a way that owners can understand.
My experience with Rohloff has been nothing but spectacular. Nikki and her team go above and beyond in making sure to provide a high level of customer service, and are always more than willing to provide high level financial insights. I've been using them in place of a bookkeeper/CFO since February 2022 and I wouldn't change anything. If you value having clean financial records and an ethical team to work with, Rohloff is it.
RA is a proactive and intelligent team. Nikki, Jill and Danielle are phenomenal for overarching business consultation, quarterly P&L review, and setting up a filing routine. The office manager Amy makes sure you stay in front of the right team members through the year for consults, and prompts you to gather what you need to by deadlines. Thank you each for your responsiveness and aptitude in tax strategy.
We absolutely love working with Rohloff! We left a previous accounting firm hoping for a strong relationship, a more consultative approach, someone who?s looking out for you and your business, a group that wants to support in your growth, and that are experts at what they do! Nikki and her team won?t let you down! Thank you!
We have been working with Rohloff Associates for over three years and they have helped our business better understand our financials and operate more profitably. Thank you Nikki and RA team for being a great partner!
I am very careful where I send referrals, but I never have to a doubt about sending my clients to Rohloff Associates. I get nothing but positive reports back from my clients. They appreciate her and her firm's thoroughness and ability to strategize long term. I have no hesitation about sending anyone to Rohloff Assoc.
Rohloff Associates, LLC have become integral to not only the accounting part of our business, but they also serve a vital role in our business planning and execution. They are doing accounting the right way.
Nikki has built a culture and a team that understands the needs of their clients. The professionalism and honesty in how they work amongst themselves and their clients is what all business owners and companies should try and duplicate.
"I own a building and remodeling company located in Stillwater, MN. We had been searching for the right CPA since we first started our business. We first tried to hire someone internally, then attempted to outsource, but neither option was the right fit for us. However, when we were referred to Nikki and her team at Rohloff Associates, it was a breath of fresh air for us. For the first time, I can relax knowing that our books and taxes are being taken care of accurately. It feels great to have complete trus
Working with Jill and Nikki has been a great experience, they are the missing piece we needed in our company. I couldn't ask for a better partnership!
Terrible company. Had my accounting done there for 6 months until they started providing me with messy financials. After several conference calls, they still made constant mistakes in my bookkeeping. Not only this but the rates are extremely high - do yourself a favor and go somewhere else that can do it for cheaper and better.
We work with them with out wholesale construction business and they have been wonderful. Nikki and her staff have been very helpful and we will be continuing to use them for other future businesses!
They do a great job! Highly recommend
Look for a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license, which ensures they’ve passed rigorous exams and meet state requirements. Check for relevant experience in your industry, additional certifications like CFA or CMA, and membership in professional organizations like the AICPA. Verify their credentials through state licensing boards.
Use online directories like the AICPA, CPAverify, or state CPA societies. Search platforms like Yelp or Google for local CPAs with reviews. Ask for referrals from business associates, friends, or financial advisors. Local chambers of commerce can also provide recommendations.
A CPA is a licensed professional who has passed the CPA exam and met state requirements for education and experience. An accountant may lack this certification and could have varying levels of expertise. For complex tasks like tax audits or financial reporting, a CPA is typically more qualified.
Ask about their experience with your specific financial needs, such as tax preparation, small business accounting, or estate planning. Review their website or LinkedIn for case studies or client testimonials. Inquire about their client base to ensure they handle similar financial situations.
Yes, reviews provide insight into a CPA’s reliability, communication, and performance. Check platforms like Google, Yelp, or the Better Business Bureau for client feedback. Look for patterns in reviews, but verify their authenticity, as some may be biased or outdated.
Visit your state’s Board of Accountancy website or use CPAverify.org to check a CPA’s license status. Confirm their license is active and check for any disciplinary actions or complaints. This ensures they’re in good standing and meet professional standards.
Ask about their experience with your financial needs, fee structure, availability, and communication style. Inquire how they handle tax filings, audits, or financial planning. Ask for references or examples of similar work to assess their expertise and fit.
Fees vary based on location, services, and complexity. Basic tax preparation may cost $150-$500, while business accounting or audits can range from $1,000 to $10,000+. Request a detailed fee structure upfront and compare quotes from multiple CPAs.
Yes, many CPAs offer remote services through secure online platforms for document sharing and virtual consultations. Ensure they use encrypted tools for data security. Remote CPAs can be effective if they understand your local tax laws or business regulations.
During consultations, evaluate their ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly. Ask sample questions about taxes or financial strategies and note their responsiveness and clarity. Good communication ensures you understand their advice and fosters a productive relationship.
Beware of CPAs who guarantee specific tax refunds, lack a valid license, or have disciplinary actions on record. Avoid those with poor communication, vague fee structures, or negative reviews highlighting unethical behavior. Always verify their credentials independently.
Large firms offer more resources and specialized teams but may charge higher fees. Solo practitioners often provide personalized service and lower costs but may have limited availability. Choose based on your needs, budget, and preference for personalized attention.
For individuals, annual meetings for tax preparation may suffice. Businesses may need quarterly or monthly check-ins for bookkeeping, tax planning, or financial reporting. Discuss your needs upfront to establish a meeting schedule that aligns with your financial goals.
Yes, many CPAs handle both, but confirm their expertise in both areas. Ask about their experience managing personal taxes and business accounting simultaneously. Ensure they can balance both without compromising attention to your specific financial needs.
Discuss concerns directly with your CPA to resolve issues. If unresolved, check your contract for termination terms. Seek a new CPA by researching reviews, credentials, and referrals. Request your financial records to ensure a smooth transition to a new professional.
