I have been a client of San Joaquin accounting & Tax service for years and dealing with your staff is like dealing with a friend who knows me and my taxable issues. Thanks for helping ease my anxiety concerning filing my income taxes. Recently while waiting for my appointment, I was able observe how knowledgeable you staff are. Gracias
I have been with SjATS for years starting as a W-2 customer and now as both a W-2 and S-Corp owner. I have received nothing but the best advice and friendly service from everyone in the office. Tamara, Claudia, Rob, Silvia and Keith have always had my best interests in mind when I call for guidance and the staff is always kind. It's like family, minus the bad uncle, lol. Thanks for the great service.
I can't thank Keith Stoller enough for helping me resolve my tax issue. He was not only professional and knowledgeable, but I felt he genuinely cared about getting the best outcome for me. I highly recommend Keith for help with any kind of tax issue.
I recently consulted with Keith Stoller on an IRS problem. He was highly skilled and extremely knowledgeable. He clearly knows what he is doing and how to help people with complex tax problems. I highly recommend Keith!
My wife and I have had the pleasure to work with Silvia for going our over 19 years now, both for personal and business accounts. We would happily continue except that we are moving out of state. Silvia is a true and caring professional.
Keith and his staff are awesome! Definitely would recommend to anyone looking for a tax professional who knows their stuff. Keith takes the stress off filing your income taxes for both business and personal and makes it a quick and easy process.
I've been coming here for years now and they have gotten so expensive!!! If they would have told me how much it was going to be this year before I filed with them! I only have one W2 and 2 children to claim. It's nothing crazy for the tax prep. I called to talk to the owner and never got called back so maybe they'll have time for me now with this review.
Been going here for more than 10 years and couldn't be happier. Always good customer service and very reliable. Thorough and confident. Thank you Silvia for your great service! Would highly recommend.

Sylvia has always been professional, courteous, and very kind.I highly recommend her services to anyone in need of tax services. She is a pleasure to do business with.Thank you Sylvia!
I didn't like my tax preparation made by Rob there, so I reach out to get a second opinion. George a (CPA ) a different place showed me his ( Rob) mistakes. George save me over $1,600 that Rob over seen in his preparations there (SJTS), I explain to Silvia Delgado people get complacent over the years and don't look out for the client?s benefits. She said ?the work was done? so no refund from her?. The work was done wrong , Silva I taught you had more dignity to accept your employee mistake but I was wrong
Don't even try to to go here horrible service and way too expensive I got taken out almost 2000 out of tax return be careful with this lady that works there I forgot her name but she has an accent
I am extremely satisfied with the service I've received. Not sure about value because I haven't felt a need to shop around. I'm more concerned about piece of mind than I am about trying to save a few dollars.
If I can give zero stars I would, this place is very unprofessional, sloppy and will not give you a call back even if you have left message after message. Then once you show up to talk to someone they stare at you like you shouldn't be there the first year I started with them was good then after that sloppy ,unprofessional and you will be unable to get someone who knows what they're doing or talking about!
Just received a postcard to remind me not to go here again. Overbooked and over priced. Stay away!!
I have being going here since 2005 and I have no complaints. Thanx again Denise??
Very helpful people, they will make sure you understand everything through the process.

Look for a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license, which ensures they’ve passed rigorous exams and meet state requirements. Check for relevant experience in your industry, additional certifications like CFA or CMA, and membership in professional organizations like the AICPA. Verify their credentials through state licensing boards.
Use online directories like the AICPA, CPAverify, or state CPA societies. Search platforms like Yelp or Google for local CPAs with reviews. Ask for referrals from business associates, friends, or financial advisors. Local chambers of commerce can also provide recommendations.
A CPA is a licensed professional who has passed the CPA exam and met state requirements for education and experience. An accountant may lack this certification and could have varying levels of expertise. For complex tasks like tax audits or financial reporting, a CPA is typically more qualified.
Ask about their experience with your specific financial needs, such as tax preparation, small business accounting, or estate planning. Review their website or LinkedIn for case studies or client testimonials. Inquire about their client base to ensure they handle similar financial situations.
Yes, reviews provide insight into a CPA’s reliability, communication, and performance. Check platforms like Google, Yelp, or the Better Business Bureau for client feedback. Look for patterns in reviews, but verify their authenticity, as some may be biased or outdated.
Visit your state’s Board of Accountancy website or use CPAverify.org to check a CPA’s license status. Confirm their license is active and check for any disciplinary actions or complaints. This ensures they’re in good standing and meet professional standards.
Ask about their experience with your financial needs, fee structure, availability, and communication style. Inquire how they handle tax filings, audits, or financial planning. Ask for references or examples of similar work to assess their expertise and fit.
Fees vary based on location, services, and complexity. Basic tax preparation may cost $150-$500, while business accounting or audits can range from $1,000 to $10,000+. Request a detailed fee structure upfront and compare quotes from multiple CPAs.
Yes, many CPAs offer remote services through secure online platforms for document sharing and virtual consultations. Ensure they use encrypted tools for data security. Remote CPAs can be effective if they understand your local tax laws or business regulations.
During consultations, evaluate their ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly. Ask sample questions about taxes or financial strategies and note their responsiveness and clarity. Good communication ensures you understand their advice and fosters a productive relationship.
Beware of CPAs who guarantee specific tax refunds, lack a valid license, or have disciplinary actions on record. Avoid those with poor communication, vague fee structures, or negative reviews highlighting unethical behavior. Always verify their credentials independently.
Large firms offer more resources and specialized teams but may charge higher fees. Solo practitioners often provide personalized service and lower costs but may have limited availability. Choose based on your needs, budget, and preference for personalized attention.
For individuals, annual meetings for tax preparation may suffice. Businesses may need quarterly or monthly check-ins for bookkeeping, tax planning, or financial reporting. Discuss your needs upfront to establish a meeting schedule that aligns with your financial goals.
Yes, many CPAs handle both, but confirm their expertise in both areas. Ask about their experience managing personal taxes and business accounting simultaneously. Ensure they can balance both without compromising attention to your specific financial needs.
Discuss concerns directly with your CPA to resolve issues. If unresolved, check your contract for termination terms. Seek a new CPA by researching reviews, credentials, and referrals. Request your financial records to ensure a smooth transition to a new professional.
