Brenda and everyone at her office is always so friendly and knowledgeable. They have been doing my taxes for years and will continue to have my business. Brenda is great an answering questions and takes time to make sure you understand everything. I highly recommend Sandefur CPA for all your tax and business needs.
Brenda and her team has been preparing my taxes for the past 10 years. i?ve never had any issues with them they?re always very prompt and very good at communication! I would definitely recommend them!
Brenda has been incredibly helpful with our small business needs and questions (there are a lot!) and we have never felt like a bother to her. Nor has it ever felt like her answer was above our head. We really appreciate her patience and assistance with all of our tax and accounting questions as we try to grow our business.
Their resume online looks good as they provide a wide range of services that seem to benefit small businesses (tax prep, quick books, cash flow management, etc.). They also have a good bench of support personnel that look like they could cover a variety of issues. As such, I was considering working with this group on accounting and tax prep matters, as I run my small business out of Fulshear where they are located. However, I called the office three times over a week attempting to schedule a meeting and g
Good old fashion customer service, this team knows what they?re doing. I?ve had a wonderful experience with them they?ve exceeded our expectations. And let?s not forget to do a shout out to their fur babies! They are very professional and their office will give you the most hospitality welcoming. Thank you team Sandefur.
Great people, Great Service, Just GREAT all around!! They're always available for what seems to me like random questions, but they always come through with a reliable and reasonable answers. Been with them 10 years and not going anywhere. I always recommend her to friends, colleagues, etc., who may be looking for small business financial and tax services.
Most unorganized, rude, irresponsible group of people I have ever had to deal with in my life! I was asked to bring my documents in for review after they had caught up on other things. After a month had gone by I called to follow up and they lost ALL my documents and accused me of loosing them. Then they insulted me when I started to panic about all my hard tax documents disappearing. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! Extremely unprofessional!
Sandefur CPA has been doing my taxes for the last three years and the Owner and Staff are always professional and ready to answer questions. They have always kept me posted on status when filing. Will continue to use them no doubt!
Worst experience ever. I'm a new business owner and I told brenda I needed help with my taxes and getting started. She gave me the most vague directions aND seemed completely careless about helping me. Whenever I would have a question about something she acted like I'm stupid just because I didn't understand something? Horrible service! Will never use or recommend her to anyone!
I have been going to Brenda and Natalya here for quite some time now...they always have the best attitudes and are willing to help me with anything. From CPA services to Printing and mailings they never let me down . I won't go anywhere else!
Brenda and her team do an amazing job! Fast, professional and great work.
They are awesome. Even stayed late so I could pick up my paperwork after work.
Look for a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license, which ensures they’ve passed rigorous exams and meet state requirements. Check for relevant experience in your industry, additional certifications like CFA or CMA, and membership in professional organizations like the AICPA. Verify their credentials through state licensing boards.
Use online directories like the AICPA, CPAverify, or state CPA societies. Search platforms like Yelp or Google for local CPAs with reviews. Ask for referrals from business associates, friends, or financial advisors. Local chambers of commerce can also provide recommendations.
A CPA is a licensed professional who has passed the CPA exam and met state requirements for education and experience. An accountant may lack this certification and could have varying levels of expertise. For complex tasks like tax audits or financial reporting, a CPA is typically more qualified.
Ask about their experience with your specific financial needs, such as tax preparation, small business accounting, or estate planning. Review their website or LinkedIn for case studies or client testimonials. Inquire about their client base to ensure they handle similar financial situations.
Yes, reviews provide insight into a CPA’s reliability, communication, and performance. Check platforms like Google, Yelp, or the Better Business Bureau for client feedback. Look for patterns in reviews, but verify their authenticity, as some may be biased or outdated.
Visit your state’s Board of Accountancy website or use CPAverify.org to check a CPA’s license status. Confirm their license is active and check for any disciplinary actions or complaints. This ensures they’re in good standing and meet professional standards.
Ask about their experience with your financial needs, fee structure, availability, and communication style. Inquire how they handle tax filings, audits, or financial planning. Ask for references or examples of similar work to assess their expertise and fit.
Fees vary based on location, services, and complexity. Basic tax preparation may cost $150-$500, while business accounting or audits can range from $1,000 to $10,000+. Request a detailed fee structure upfront and compare quotes from multiple CPAs.
Yes, many CPAs offer remote services through secure online platforms for document sharing and virtual consultations. Ensure they use encrypted tools for data security. Remote CPAs can be effective if they understand your local tax laws or business regulations.
During consultations, evaluate their ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly. Ask sample questions about taxes or financial strategies and note their responsiveness and clarity. Good communication ensures you understand their advice and fosters a productive relationship.
Beware of CPAs who guarantee specific tax refunds, lack a valid license, or have disciplinary actions on record. Avoid those with poor communication, vague fee structures, or negative reviews highlighting unethical behavior. Always verify their credentials independently.
Large firms offer more resources and specialized teams but may charge higher fees. Solo practitioners often provide personalized service and lower costs but may have limited availability. Choose based on your needs, budget, and preference for personalized attention.
For individuals, annual meetings for tax preparation may suffice. Businesses may need quarterly or monthly check-ins for bookkeeping, tax planning, or financial reporting. Discuss your needs upfront to establish a meeting schedule that aligns with your financial goals.
Yes, many CPAs handle both, but confirm their expertise in both areas. Ask about their experience managing personal taxes and business accounting simultaneously. Ensure they can balance both without compromising attention to your specific financial needs.
Discuss concerns directly with your CPA to resolve issues. If unresolved, check your contract for termination terms. Seek a new CPA by researching reviews, credentials, and referrals. Request your financial records to ensure a smooth transition to a new professional.
