While I cannot speak to the firm as a whole, I do need to warn people about the deplorable and dishonest nature of Brent R Hall. Brent R Hall was hired to manage my parents finances when my father chose to work over the road as a truck driver. Brent was asked to work with my disabled mother (she suffers from dyslexia) as the primary point of contact. As I?m going through my parents finances and records, and I?m looking back on Brent?s work, I can prove that Brent did not pay all of the monthly bills, res

Can?t say enough good about my experience with this group. My experience tax planning with Josh Savage provided me with safe & solid advice that helped avoid certain missteps had I not sought their counsel. Their filing guidance is straightforward and returns are completed quickly and with great communication.

Total professionals and incredibly intelligent individuals working here! I've never had a worry about my personal taxes and I feel like everything I need to do and know is explained perfectly. Great group to work with! I highly recommend Eric Hall and Angela Norman, been working with them for years and they do a great job!

We have been incredibly happy with their tax services, especially with Darin and his team, including Teshua. Darin explained the process and our deduction options clearly, and Teshua ensured that all the necessary documents were sent to us in an easy to use electronic format. They were friendly and helpful throughout. Would definitely recommend them to our friends and family.

We started going with Joshua Savage of Savage Esplin & Radmall, PC last year after a neighbor referred us. It has been the best decision we have made. I call him the wizard because of his talent and approach. He understands every family is different and has such a grasp of his profession that he is able to navigate, educate and assist our needs like I've never seen before. Over the last 13 years, my wife & I have worked with 5 different accountants and for the most part we have been pretty satisfied. Howeve

I couldn't recommend Tyler Hall more, and I'm really thankful for all he does for me. He really looks out for my family. Throughout the year I will receive kind phone calls and emails from Tyler, even though I live in a different state. He'll be checking in on my family, letting me know about a new tax provision that might be helpful, or just making sure I know he's there to help with anything I need. I am certainly one of Tyler's smaller clients, but you wouldn't know it by the way he takes such good c

I have known Tyler for many years and have come to know him as incredibly reliable and extremely knowledgeable. With his high level of integrity I never have to worry that my personal or business matters are being taken care of properly. He has overseen my personal taxes as well as several different business accounts for years and I could not be happier. I have worked with other firms before, but have never received the level of service that I do now with Tyler, and everyone at Savage Esplin & Radmall.

Tyler Hall is one of the best people in the world to take care of your taxes. Every year Tyler continues to get me more and more back on my returns. Tyler has also fixed problems with my taxes that I could not figure out. He is extremely quick, professional, and respectful. I?ll never use anyone else for my taxes. Great business with great employees!

Savage Esplin and Radmall are an incredible team of professionals. I use them in my business for payroll management and accounting. I?ve been incredibly happy with their services. They?ve saved me money in my taxes and helped me to manage my payroll. They also have cookies at their office which is a great plus. I couldn?t recommend them more!

They have done my taxes every year since I first began working out of high school. I live in Arizona now and still have them do them. Everything can be submitted and uploaded online. It's so easy. Great company, highly recommended.

Josh Savage is very professional and great at what he does, he makes taxes for both personal and business a smooth process. Staff is very friendly and helpful as well. They will not disappoint.

The best of the best !!!!! Have been with members for 30 + years.. Have never wanted for information, as all explained very well ..This firm does great work, and many of my fellow peers exclusively work with Savage Esplin & Radmall.. As one said to me last week, " Would never think of any other firm to do the work necessary to run our business ". I agree... Mike Kesler , Kentucky

As a small business owner I rely on my accountant for tax advice and protection from costly errors. Unfortunately, I didn't receive the protection and ethical care I needed during an important life change (divorce). I did consult with with my accountant there at that time and asked them to make changes as needed so that I wouldn't owe taxes at the end of the year. Unknown to me they failed to make the tax payment changes needed (I'm too busy running my company to wonder if their doing what they're suppose

SERCPAS, especially Brent Hall and Tyler Hall, have always been extremely professional and responsive to us. We have used their services for years, and have never had any issues arise that weren't handled promptly and professionally. Highly recommended!

They have always given me great service.

Will never go to anyone else to do my taxes. Josh is amazing!

Excellent- very relaxed and comfortable.

Frequently Asked Questions

What qualifications should I look for in a CPA?

Look for a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license, which ensures they’ve passed rigorous exams and meet state requirements. Check for relevant experience in your industry, additional certifications like CFA or CMA, and membership in professional organizations like the AICPA. Verify their credentials through state licensing boards.

How do I find a CPA in my area?

Use online directories like the AICPA, CPAverify, or state CPA societies. Search platforms like Yelp or Google for local CPAs with reviews. Ask for referrals from business associates, friends, or financial advisors. Local chambers of commerce can also provide recommendations.

What’s the difference between a CPA and an accountant?

A CPA is a licensed professional who has passed the CPA exam and met state requirements for education and experience. An accountant may lack this certification and could have varying levels of expertise. For complex tasks like tax audits or financial reporting, a CPA is typically more qualified.

How do I know if a CPA specializes in my needs?

Ask about their experience with your specific financial needs, such as tax preparation, small business accounting, or estate planning. Review their website or LinkedIn for case studies or client testimonials. Inquire about their client base to ensure they handle similar financial situations.

Should I check a CPA’s reviews before hiring?

Yes, reviews provide insight into a CPA’s reliability, communication, and performance. Check platforms like Google, Yelp, or the Better Business Bureau for client feedback. Look for patterns in reviews, but verify their authenticity, as some may be biased or outdated.

How can I verify a CPA’s license?

Visit your state’s Board of Accountancy website or use CPAverify.org to check a CPA’s license status. Confirm their license is active and check for any disciplinary actions or complaints. This ensures they’re in good standing and meet professional standards.

What questions should I ask during a CPA consultation?

Ask about their experience with your financial needs, fee structure, availability, and communication style. Inquire how they handle tax filings, audits, or financial planning. Ask for references or examples of similar work to assess their expertise and fit.

How much should I expect to pay for a CPA’s services?

Fees vary based on location, services, and complexity. Basic tax preparation may cost $150-$500, while business accounting or audits can range from $1,000 to $10,000+. Request a detailed fee structure upfront and compare quotes from multiple CPAs.

Can I work with a CPA remotely?

Yes, many CPAs offer remote services through secure online platforms for document sharing and virtual consultations. Ensure they use encrypted tools for data security. Remote CPAs can be effective if they understand your local tax laws or business regulations.

How do I assess a CPA’s communication skills?

During consultations, evaluate their ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly. Ask sample questions about taxes or financial strategies and note their responsiveness and clarity. Good communication ensures you understand their advice and fosters a productive relationship.

What red flags should I watch for when screening a CPA?

Beware of CPAs who guarantee specific tax refunds, lack a valid license, or have disciplinary actions on record. Avoid those with poor communication, vague fee structures, or negative reviews highlighting unethical behavior. Always verify their credentials independently.

Should I choose a CPA from a large firm or a solo practitioner?

Large firms offer more resources and specialized teams but may charge higher fees. Solo practitioners often provide personalized service and lower costs but may have limited availability. Choose based on your needs, budget, and preference for personalized attention.

How often should I meet with my CPA?

For individuals, annual meetings for tax preparation may suffice. Businesses may need quarterly or monthly check-ins for bookkeeping, tax planning, or financial reporting. Discuss your needs upfront to establish a meeting schedule that aligns with your financial goals.

Can a CPA help with both personal and business finances?

Yes, many CPAs handle both, but confirm their expertise in both areas. Ask about their experience managing personal taxes and business accounting simultaneously. Ensure they can balance both without compromising attention to your specific financial needs.

What should I do if I’m not satisfied with my CPA?

Discuss concerns directly with your CPA to resolve issues. If unresolved, check your contract for termination terms. Seek a new CPA by researching reviews, credentials, and referrals. Request your financial records to ensure a smooth transition to a new professional.
