Customer Reviews

TERRIBLE SERVICE from John Hajewski. Like one of the most recent reviews these "CPAs" really just copy and past whatever they see from the previous tax returns. My last tax preparer reported I made a huge lost in 2021 which I never did, and John simply carried it over instead of questioning it or following up like a real professional would do. As soon as I changed CPA's that is the FIRST THING he brought up!! It was common sense, if I have never made such amount, wouldn't it be common sense to ask, "hey bas

Most unprofessional and incompetent CPA's I have ever worked with. We went through a few of their employees, in which they fired them afterwards. I wonder why, lol? After many mistakes costing lots of money and good faith with the state, we notified SBA CPA we were parting ways. After promising a smooth transition, they became seemingly malicious and even more negligent to our account. Our new CPA is still cleaning up the mess and dealing with items such as taxes that weren't filed. At this point I would fl

What a joke! These guys will charge you nearly $1,000 to copy information from one page and put it on another. They dont do any actual real work. They will make you do everything for them. DO NOT use these people. You might as well watch a <20 min. video on YT and just do it yourself. They are not the type of company that will help maximize your return and strategically alleviate any tax burden. You are just a quick paycheck to them.

Loved them. They are quick and most importantly they communicate and discuss options. Unlike most other tax firms I have used over 40 years, where it is just a black box, with no attempt at any tax planning.

The BEST part of their customer service is their comprehensiveness and patience in answering questions. I did not have to fill out a bunch of forms. Simply organized all of my docs, dropped them off, answered a couple of questions, signed and paid everything electronically. It doesn't get any easier. Thank you Pam & Dmitri!

We?ve been working with Dmitri and Pam for years, and can honestly say if it wasn?t for their constant help and support I don?t know where my company would be. Moreover, with Dmitri?s newsletters and webinars on government stimulus, PPP forgiveness plans, etc. I felt very informed in these uncertain times and was able to make 2020 our best year yet. Thank you Dmitri and the team at SBA CPA!!

Very professional. I've always been happy with their work and Mr. Galcovski listens and gives his clients personal attention. Very easy to work with!! Highly recommend!!

I started working with Dmirti on my small business and personal taxes. Super great to work with - handles the complicated questions that I don't want to figure out and helps me with direction opportunities to move forward with. Trustworthy, friendly, reliable.

Dmitri has been my CPA since 2015. I met him through a mutual client and would recommend him to anyone. His business acumen and knowledge working with business owners and entrepreneurs is THE BEST!

I have been involved in family and small business since 1991, I have always had bookkeepers who are scrambling at tax time, who I have to remind to do monthly taxes and quarterly reports, and generally oversee at all times. This is the answer I have always been looking for Dmitri and company are constantly coming to me with things I would forget, and I get emails whenever they pay my stuff on time, to the point that I forget without worry now.

I have been using SBACPA for almost 5 years. They handle 3 businesses and my personal accounts. Great communication and they stay on top of everything! A-TEAM!

Excellent bookkeeping/ accounting service. SBA CPA acquired Evergreen Bookkeepers (and its employees) over 4 years ago. The acquisition improved good services and made them great. I trust SBA CPA to handle all my personal and business accounting.

I have had my taxes prepared for quite a few years and have never had a problem with you folks. Tax preparation has been timely and without errors. I am very pleased and will continue to use you in the future.

SBA Accountants have been working w me and my family for a very long time. They are accurate, fast and accessible for questions and guidance. Price competitive too.

This was my first year using the company and the experience was great! Very easy to work with and they found deductions that my previous tax preparer didn?t. Very happy with the experience.

Pam at SBA, before she came to SBA (at Evergreen Bookkeepers) , was always timely, consummate professional and expert, compassionate. At SBA she continues that expertise and personal attention, saving us many times when late or other filing (from emergencies) required immediate action. For years, she took care of us in ways beyond mere compensation. I trust this review offers some acknowledgment.

I had SBA CPA process my taxes for 2019, I worked with Pam and Dmitri, together they made the filing process go smoothly. Thank you! Sincerely, Jay Gesche

the SBA accounting firm was very helpful. I had certified legal documents that they helped me submit. Legally they were so knowledgeable. I would hightly recommend them.

Could not ask for more from a CPA firm. Their work was thorough, accurate and time-sensitive. A great experience.

Neil is horrible. Pay roll has been messed up multiple times so to his mistakes. Definitely do not let him handle your accounting needs.

Dimitri and staff are outstanding. We have worked with them for the last two years and it has been a real pleasure working with them all.

Seriously the first firm that has ever taken the time to understand my business and answer my questions. Actually do things proactively and talk strategies. There is no better firm that I?ve used or talked to.

Replied to my email and phone calls right away. Very professional, polite and helpful. Will definitely use his services in the future.

Outstanding service..Always available..Answer questions immediately and such a pleasure having them assist us in our operations. You actually get a live, friendly person that handles whatever the issue most efficiently...Highly recommend..

Pam Oline is super. Very professional, informative and very friendly. She goes the extra mile.

Dmitri and team completely saved my business my previous accountants messed a lot of things up and double charged me for many things and didn't accurately log or track things in my business and that has made for a nightmare in our current tax brackets, but Dmitri took over and fixed all of these problems and my business now has a completely accurate Idea of my business and my PnL has never looked better Highly recommend!

Frequently Asked Questions

What qualifications should I look for in a CPA?

Look for a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license, which ensures they’ve passed rigorous exams and meet state requirements. Check for relevant experience in your industry, additional certifications like CFA or CMA, and membership in professional organizations like the AICPA. Verify their credentials through state licensing boards.

How do I find a CPA in my area?

Use online directories like the AICPA, CPAverify, or state CPA societies. Search platforms like Yelp or Google for local CPAs with reviews. Ask for referrals from business associates, friends, or financial advisors. Local chambers of commerce can also provide recommendations.

What’s the difference between a CPA and an accountant?

A CPA is a licensed professional who has passed the CPA exam and met state requirements for education and experience. An accountant may lack this certification and could have varying levels of expertise. For complex tasks like tax audits or financial reporting, a CPA is typically more qualified.

How do I know if a CPA specializes in my needs?

Ask about their experience with your specific financial needs, such as tax preparation, small business accounting, or estate planning. Review their website or LinkedIn for case studies or client testimonials. Inquire about their client base to ensure they handle similar financial situations.

Should I check a CPA’s reviews before hiring?

Yes, reviews provide insight into a CPA’s reliability, communication, and performance. Check platforms like Google, Yelp, or the Better Business Bureau for client feedback. Look for patterns in reviews, but verify their authenticity, as some may be biased or outdated.

How can I verify a CPA’s license?

Visit your state’s Board of Accountancy website or use CPAverify.org to check a CPA’s license status. Confirm their license is active and check for any disciplinary actions or complaints. This ensures they’re in good standing and meet professional standards.

What questions should I ask during a CPA consultation?

Ask about their experience with your financial needs, fee structure, availability, and communication style. Inquire how they handle tax filings, audits, or financial planning. Ask for references or examples of similar work to assess their expertise and fit.

How much should I expect to pay for a CPA’s services?

Fees vary based on location, services, and complexity. Basic tax preparation may cost $150-$500, while business accounting or audits can range from $1,000 to $10,000+. Request a detailed fee structure upfront and compare quotes from multiple CPAs.

Can I work with a CPA remotely?

Yes, many CPAs offer remote services through secure online platforms for document sharing and virtual consultations. Ensure they use encrypted tools for data security. Remote CPAs can be effective if they understand your local tax laws or business regulations.

How do I assess a CPA’s communication skills?

During consultations, evaluate their ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly. Ask sample questions about taxes or financial strategies and note their responsiveness and clarity. Good communication ensures you understand their advice and fosters a productive relationship.

What red flags should I watch for when screening a CPA?

Beware of CPAs who guarantee specific tax refunds, lack a valid license, or have disciplinary actions on record. Avoid those with poor communication, vague fee structures, or negative reviews highlighting unethical behavior. Always verify their credentials independently.

Should I choose a CPA from a large firm or a solo practitioner?

Large firms offer more resources and specialized teams but may charge higher fees. Solo practitioners often provide personalized service and lower costs but may have limited availability. Choose based on your needs, budget, and preference for personalized attention.

How often should I meet with my CPA?

For individuals, annual meetings for tax preparation may suffice. Businesses may need quarterly or monthly check-ins for bookkeeping, tax planning, or financial reporting. Discuss your needs upfront to establish a meeting schedule that aligns with your financial goals.

Can a CPA help with both personal and business finances?

Yes, many CPAs handle both, but confirm their expertise in both areas. Ask about their experience managing personal taxes and business accounting simultaneously. Ensure they can balance both without compromising attention to your specific financial needs.

What should I do if I’m not satisfied with my CPA?

Discuss concerns directly with your CPA to resolve issues. If unresolved, check your contract for termination terms. Seek a new CPA by researching reviews, credentials, and referrals. Request your financial records to ensure a smooth transition to a new professional.
