We had a wonderful family vacation with my teens. I appreciated there was no TV, but it didn't stop our kids from accessing their phones. Loved all the details: wonderful daily and thoughtful breakfast - they think of everything you need, cute in room furniture, overall decor of the grounds and shrubbery, abundant tea hot stations, wonderful and attentive server at the restaurant our 1st evening when the tables were packed and friendly service at the front desk during checkout. They are also dog friendly
Though it was short (only 1 night), we had a beautiful stay at SCP Mendocino. The entire place is small and cozy. The rooms are absolutely charming, with beautiful views, comfortable beds and working wood fireplaces. There was plenty of firewood in our room. The breakfast is AMAZING and delivered to your room in a basket (also, WOW they really put a lot of effort into avoiding single-use items and I love it). The grounds are wonderful - quiet, picturesque, an easy walk to a beautiful, quiet beach. The llama
We enjoyed everything about our stay. The rooms were clean and had a charming feel to them. The dinner at the hotel was very good. We also enjoyed the hiking trails right at the Inn... one short one down to Van Damme beach and another longer one to Fern Valley.
It rained the entirety of our stay in Mendocino, but our room at the Inn was perfectly cozy. We loved the trail from the back door to the beach. We enjoyed watching the llamas and the chickens roam about their spaces. One front desk attendant directed us where to go buy rain boots so we even went tide pooling. And after we were thoroughly soaked, the private fireplace in our room created the perfect wind down atmosphere to relax and read before our delicious dinner at the sister restaurant. Excellent stay a
I think this is the best place I have ever stayed on a vacation. I don't know how Mendocino SCP Inn and Farm is able to offer everything they do at the price, this place is just incredible. Some of the highlights for me were the ocean view from our room with a little balcony, getting to pet the llamas and feed the chickens, homemade breakfast delivered right to our door (the breakfast burrito! WOW!), and the three different hiking trails that start on or just off the property, including beach access by foot
Fantastic little gem on the coast. Variety of buildings, we like to stay in the lodge building. Complimentary breakfast delivered to the room for everyone, eggs made from their own chickens. They have a small restaurant that has great, Neapolitan style pizza Free EV charging for guests. LOVE this place
We loved our stay. The staff at check-in were friendly and helped with rainy day activity and restaurant recommendations. The room was perfectly cozy with a fireplace (and no tv) and the grounds were beautiful. Highly recommend!
Great place to unwind from the businesses of life ! No distractions from electronic devices. Where can you find a place like this where free breakfast delivered to your doorstep and it's healthy organic and deliciously hot! None ! And a fireplace that's make you cozy and warm ! Me and my wife love this place and we will comeback again. Thank you so much for taking care of us SCP Mendocino Inn and farm people for the warm service you provided for us!
My wife and I stayed nearly a week at SCP Mendocino Inn & Farm and loved every minute of it. The location is stunning with sweeping ocean views, forests, and trails abound. There is even a trail just off the property which will take you down to a near private beach with even more sweeping views The reason we chose to stay at this property is because we stayed at the Redmond location and loved. Since we bring our two dogs everywhere, SCP is extremely accommodating for us. With SCP Mendocino we felt as thou
Stayed there for a couple nights before Christmas ? what a great experience! Breakfasts were yummy, rooms were charming and the location beautiful. Staff were so cool, welcoming and accommodating, I would definitely come back to stay! We had a great Scramble family tournament the last night there next to a roaring fire in the fireplace! (Our son kicked our asses!). Definitely pin the place for your visit to beautiful Northern California ??
My husband and I had a blast celebrating our anniversary at this B&B. They have delicious breakfast delivered to your room every morning. It's also only a 3 min drive to downtown Mendocino. We also loved how accessible the hiking trails are from the hotel! We will be coming back to stay!
Amazing location. We stayed in the King bed room in the lodge which was very cute. Chelsea at the front desk was extremely helpful! The bed was comfortable. I loved that they delivered simple breakfast to my door every morning. I would definitely stay here again.
Beautiful location and excellent rooms. Staff was very helpful and friendly and the whole experience from the chicken coops and llamas to the fresh breakfast delivery each morning was incredible
My wife and I went on our babymoon here and loved our experience. The property is nestled in a beautiful setting in the woods, just a short 5min drive to the town of Mendocino. The restaurant at SCP is delicious and we especially loved the fresh breakfast delivered to our door each morning! We will definitely be staying here again :)
We had the most lovely stay at the SCP! We stayed in the cottage because our family was looking for an extra peaceful quiet stay. We hiked to the beach right outside our door. We worked with the manager Niki, and she went above and beyond to make our stay special. We also love the new farm-table restaurant. Our server Chelsea made us feel like family and the pizza was delicious. This was our second stay at SCP and if you are going for the first time, I would recommend reading/calling about the different acc
Review Mendocino Let me start by saying we use to love this hotel and have stayed many times before. You can no longer pick your room when booking. During our most recent visit, we were given Room 103. The hotel now has a restaurant with live music. The restaurant tables are seated right outside the window of room 103 and the live musician set up right next to one of the rooms windows. Imagine people eating dinner with a view of your hotel room, not to mention the noise. We use to enjoy the beautiful view
We recently stayed at SCP Mendocino and had a lovely experience overall. I'd rate the property and amenities 5 stars, the room 5 stars, and the bathroom in the bedroom 2 stars. The property is stunning, with llamas to visit and chickens to feed?our kids found it absolutely magical. It's a short walk across the highway to a gorgeous beach, and there's another trail nearby that we'd love to explore without the kids next time. The on-site restaurant is exceptional. On our first night, we enjoyed two deliciou
Convenient location with plenty to explore on-site. The staff were friendly and welcoming, even the llamas and chickens, adding to the overall positive experience. Breakfast was delicious and a great start to the day. We also enjoyed the pleasant surprise of a live artist after checking in, which added a unique touch. Also, the complimentary EV chargers was a thoughtful perk, making one less thing to worry about. Excellent value for the amenities and service provided.
The morning breakfasts are absolutely amazing! Fresh baked treats and fruit along side a delightful & different frittata each morning. The on site restaurant was also really quite lovely.
I booked a night's stay at SCP Mendocino inn and Farm on my road trip with my baby brother. Overall, the experience is positive and fun and would recommend staying for a night or two if you happen to be driving passing this area. We booked the king room which is nice, clean, and bright with lots of windows. However, I personally felt that the square footage of the room to be a bit small and due to all the windows, the room could be quite hot during the day even with all the window shades down (no AC) and s
This place is WONDERFUL! I highly recommend. The service was excellent. Location was great. Rooms beautiful and clean. And best part ... the beach being in walking distance (and dog friendly!)
Great room if you splurge for the best with sea view. Breakfast subpar, unless you are addicted to overcooked frittatas every single morning.
Beautiful hotel, rooms felt so luxurious and the grounds were peaceful. Loved feeding the chickens before heading back on the PCH, would love to stay again for longer!
We loved the grounds and hiking. The rooms were clean and bright and large. Enjoyed feeding the chickens and petting the llamas. Breakfast was delivered healthy and tasty every morning. The staff was helpful and friendly. Overall a great stay.
The perfect place to stay when visiting Mendocino. Spacious, clean, and inviting rooms. Roaming the gardens, llama pastures and chicken farm was such a nice treat. This is one of our favorite hotels we've ever stayed at and will always be our preferred choice in Mendocino. 5 minutes to downtown and a quick walk down the trail to the beach.
A magical place with magical people. We had a wonderful 2-night stay at the carriage house. The team even accommodated one of us being on a keto diet with breakfast. Breakfast, by the way, is perfect: freshly made, delicious and just enough to power you up for the day but not waste any food. We would love to come back.
Beautiful place! Many trailheads right from the property. Ocean views, llamas, chickens, blooming gardens, breakfast in bed.
The location is beautiful, peaceful, and relaxing. The staff were friendly and helpful. When we arrived, there was a mixup with the room we were assigned (no second bed for my Mom who was traveling with my husband and me.). The staff were very gracious while they investigated options. They put my Mom in a beautiful second room at no charge. We will definitely stay here if we pass this way again.
We took the suite with soaking tub, the tub was a bit old with peeling paint, but otherwise great. Tasteful interior design and furnishing, our stay was lovely and comfortable. I didn't realize the office only opens until 5pm and didn't call ahead to arrange late check-in, but the office still sent me late check-in instructions ?????? the chickens and llamas on site were very cute to look at! 100% would come back.
This beautiful property has become an annual trip for my family and I. The staff is so kind and helpful. The animals and exquisite garden areas are fun for the whole family. We really enjoyed all of the group gathering spaces available throughout the property. The trail to the beach is easy to access too. I would highly recommend this immersive experience in Nor. Cal.
Can't recommend SCP Mendocino Inn and Farm enough! My fianc? and I stayed here while traveling up the coast of California - and it was easily our favorite accommodation on our trip. The inn is nestled in the enchanted trees of Mendocino, right off the misty California coastline. Our suite's decor was tasteful and warm (it even included a cozy fireplace). The farm grounds are gorgeous - with a beautifully tended garden and llamas on the property. Across the street is a trail to a remote and stunning beach. W
Not your average hotel- quite different. The reception area was housed in one building while our room was in a 4 unit cottage across a busy highway. The rest of the property had gardens and farm structures scattered about (enjoyed looking at the llamas). Breakfast was delivered to our door- but nowhere to sit- so we trekked over to one of the other cottages. Breakfast was yogurt, an egg dish (not good) and a mini muffin. Could have been a vegan establishment which I didn't realize this at the time of boo
My family and I had a wonderful stay here. The entire property was so charming and relaxing and also very close to Mendocino Town. My daughter especially loved the llamas and chickens that she was able to feed daily. The daily breakfast delivered to your door was also very delicious. We met Nickie the owner onsite and she was lovely. We will be back again :)
We had such a wonderful time at this in. Our room was perfect for ourselves, small dog and two young children. We could see the ocean from our room and the chickens and the llamas and the beautiful garden made it all really beautiful. We had one odd experience with someone that worked there, but other than that, it was a really incredible experience and I would go again for sure.
stopped in during our honeymoon, would recommend. rooms are spacious, we could see the ocean from our private deck, and the property is gorgeous (llamas and chickens!). There were journals in our rooms filled with entries back to the late 80's - felt like we were a part of the history.
This lovely, eco-thoughtful inn was a great getaway. Lots of trails from the site and on the farm. Delicious pizza, really great dough and beautifully sourced ingredients. They had 5 interesting vegetable sides, we had the perfectly charred broccolini. Great for couples and families!
Incredible location and grounds. Staff is kind, food is great! Rooms are extremely tidy and well sound proofed. Love our experience at this hotel. Very convenient and accessible to hiking , beaches, and the nearby towns. Highly recommend!
Good location, great rooms, wonderful breakfast. Serene stay. The internet is bit sketchy, but that's the purpose of such stay . Out of grid stay.
I wish this place hadn't sold. John was the heart and soul of Glendeven?and the llamas of course. From home cooked brekky delivered to your room in a basket to a wood burning fireplace. It's sad when family-run places sell out.
Lovely place to stay and loved the llamas and chickens!! Really pretty grounds and concept for a hotel. Slight downgrade as there was a very limited selection for dinner, food could have been better, and one of our rooms was great but the other was next to the water fountain and not nearly as nice.
Lovely place to stay. Quiet, beautiful, no TV, plus llamas, cute chickens, and a wonderful vegetable garden. It's a perfect place to completely unwind. Bonus: breakfast delivered to your room.
Our room was spacious and clean, but not luxurious. Sheets are microfiber and not cotton. You can't sleep in because no window coverings for all the windows. This is not a luxury resort. It is lacking some very basic items such as hot water kettle/tea bags in the room, water, shower cap...we had to go to town to buy toothpaste on a saturday night. They should have things like that as courtesy or for purchase given the price of the room. I felt bad to even ask after the answer had been "No". Staff is pleasan
They have such lovely and unexpected treats for the guests. Upon arrival, there is a jar full of fresh backed cookies or muffins for you to taste. Breakfast is DELIVERED to your room every morning! I mean, who does that?!? The grounds are spectacular and lush. You can feed their chickens and lamas. And upon departure you can fill a satchet with their own lavender. What a fabulous keepsake. All The staff are incredible and friendly. Well done, Mendocino Inn and Farm!
We enjoyed our stay very much and we will be back when we are in the area. The farm and gardens are lovely. We liked visiting with the Llamas, chickens and farm cat. The room was clean and cozy. The breakfast basket was delicious.
We had a wonderful stay at Mendocino Inn and Farm, including a lovely dinner at the restaurant, a fantastic swedish massage, and a fantastic breakfast that was brought to our door and were specific to our food allergies. I'd highly recommend staying, but if you have small kids, make sure you request a room that doesn't have an open stairwell (we couldn't let our crawling baby move around much because of it).
Such a cute place to stay! The room was extremely clean and I loved having the fireplace with premade wood and newspaper bundles ready to use. The llamas were adorable and so fun that you can feed the chickens. Wine hour was a nice addition with yummy snacks as well right before my massage I booked there (which was also great)! There was also yummy, fresh breakfast delivered to your door in the morning. Highly recommend!
Quiet, serene, beautiful, and enjoyable. No data reception at this estate but good reliable WiFi throughout. designated parking spot with your name as greeting. Room is tiny but clean and new. Restaurant opens for dinner from 5 to 8 but pretty much closed before 8. Food was awesome!! They have local wine from Husch that's super yummy especially the table wine $7. Yummy and simple bfast is included and delivered to your room daily. Llama and chicken in the farm Gym by the restaurant Short drive into tow
We spent a lovely two days at the Inn and Farm. It was perfect for our get-away trip.
We've been coming here every year for 14 years since it was the Glendeven Inn. Website booking has been confusing ever since SCP took over and they changed all the room names. We still haven't ended up back in our original room, but overall, you can't beat the location, food, and service. Every room we've stayed in has been nice and clean, there's a beautiful garden and llamas to hang out with, the breakfasts are tasty, and the best part is there are three different nature trails you can walk to from the pr
I stayed here a night the staff was friendly and amazing. its 5 or 10 minutes from the beach, out back there is a trail thru the woods, you can also feed chickens and pet llamas all in one place. i will be back one day.
This is a beautiful place to come stay. It's a cool farm that has chickens that you can feed and there so full of energy. The llamas here are pretty cool as well. You can go into there pasture and hang out with them sometimes if your lucky they will approach you. There is an awesome trail behind the property that leans down to Van Dam State Park. I went there last year as well with my boyfriend and loved it. We had to come back. It's close to the town of Mendocino. The grounds are super pretty. There are ch
Great place to stay centrally located amongst many state parks. Breakfast & coffee delivered to the room was such a treat. The fireplace was a great touch & the farm animals added to a wonderful experience.
I can't say enough good things about this magical place! My mom and I stayed at the Mendocino Inn and Farm in the lodge King for two nights. The grounds are absolutely beautiful. Homemade delicious breakfast brought to your door every morning. It is surrounded by nature and the location is perfect, sitting just outside the small town. The staff was very friendly and helpful whenever we needed something. We absolutely loved having a real burning wood fireplace in our room. The fresh baked cookies at checkin
This place was wonderful. The staff was very friendly and helpful when we checked in. Our room was clean ... and we loved the fireplace. The hotel is conveniently located about two miles south of Mendocino ... which is charming in itself. Also, a surprise, our room was situated at the start of two trailheads leading to the coast. We did both (less than 10-minute walks) and the sites were spectacular beyond words! Do yourself a favor and experience this place for yourself!
We love this place! First Sequoia, one of the managers, went above and beyond to help us with a difficult arrangement. We thank her for her friendliness and professionalism. We normally stay in Rachel?s cottage. Omg! There are sky lights over the bed to look up at the trees. There is a small back patio space that leads to beautiful trails! The breakfast is a real nice touch in the morning and I hear they offer wine tasting. You will love the llamas and they give you chicken feed for the chicks to eat.
My fiance and I had a wonderful time here. We loved the grounds, we especially enjoyed feeding the chickens and seeing the llamas. Wine hour was a fun plus, with a few snacks. Staff was super nice, there was an issue with the room and they were extremely accommodating and friendly about it without making us feel uncomfortable. We look forward to returning!
Wonderful inn on the coast. Access to trails right from your room. Breakfast delivered daily using their own eggs and other goodies. Coffee was top notch. Starting in February 2024, salads and pizza are available on property and the product is delicious! Multiple state parks in the area to explore with endless restaurant options that leverage local produce and seafood. 5 minutes to the town of Mendocino, 20 to Fort Bragg.
Absolutely beautiful destination! All of the flowers were in bloom, and it felt simply magical. There are several trails right off the property that lead to cliff side overlooks, the beach, and the woods. The staff was super friendly, and having farm fresh breakfast delivered right to my door was so nice. Highly recommend visiting this property - you will be glad that you did!
Best stay ever. We had an issue at first, and Sequoia went above and beyond to sort it out. This place is so beautiful. Wonderful to see the llamas and chickens. Breakfast is delish and the wine tastings are lovely too. We stayed in two rooms and get the sense that this space is very well run, with clean and immaculate rooms.
The most incredible place to unwind and relax with ALL of your family... dogs included :) Nothing beats cold foggy nights with a real wood burning fireplace in the heart of your room. Going back every chance my wife and I get.
The location was very convenient for exploring Mendocino and surrounding towns. The rooms are dated and had very poor wifi coverage. There was no TV. The balcony had spiderwebs and had broken floor. Breakfast was par and was conveniently delivered to room.
My wife and I stayed 3 nights at The Lodge for our babymoon. Our room was very comfy as we enjoyed breakfast one morning in the Farmhouse and remaining days brought to our room. There was a variety of chickens to feed and a few llamas to hangout with which was cool. This is great home base if you plan on eating in Mendocino or Fort Bragg (20 minutes away). If you're a late sleeper like me, you can sometimes hear the neighbor next to you snore through the walls unfortunately and the hot tub was closed off. T
First stay there...very nice room. Very cozy with comfortable sitting area. Private balcony with lovely ocean view. Cons, couldn't get a good fire going, the wood only charred. Breakfasts were not appetizing...vegetarian fare, although the muffins were yummy. No mini fridge, coffee setup or microwave in room...all downstairs in a very small room, very inconvenient. The atmosphere was calm & peaceful, not your typical B&B.
Spotty connectivity (no cell service, very slow wifi) and a quirky lock system (locked out = after-hours scramble) made my stay at SCP inn a challenge. The free breakfast left me reaching for my own snacks - definitely not enough for an average appetite. Bathroom Issues: Inconsistent water temperature in the shower made showering uncomfortable. A broken shampoo dispenser added to the frustration. Check in late at night is not recommended, hard to find room and no support for a good 20-30 mins if you are
Sad to report our disappointment at our visit in April -- sad because we honeymooned here in 1983 and have returned at least once every year since. Breakfasts were always a highlight when this was Glendeven, but not so on our recent visit. The egg dishes were rubbery and seemed to have been previously prepared and reheated, and the pastries had a mealy texture. We were also disappointed that the new owners did not provide any in-room housekeeping services for the duration of our stay. While it makes sense t
I give Glendeven 5 stars, but I give our room we had 3 stars. So I'm averaging to a 4 star review. The room we had was the Garden Room, which was lovely. But unfortunately it seems to be located under the staff kitchen where they make the breakfasts. So starting at around 6, 6:30 AM there are people walking around above the room constantly. And since it's an old building, it's not exactly quiet. I feel like this room should've been available with a discount, since barely getting any sleep was not worth the
We stayed in the carriage house & absolutely loved it! The space was cozy - and the bed was so comfortable! Towels and linens were very clean!!!! The TV isn't huge - but I wouldn't say you would stay here to care about watching it much! There's SO much to do on the property as well as locally. We loved the chickens you could feed and the llamas! Unfortunately no handling right now of the llamas but they said they are getting socialized ones soon! The break was absolutely amazing and fresh!!
I cannot speak highly enough of Glendeven and everyone we encountered there. The property is beautiful and there are walking trails that lead to the beach and the cliffs. We were close to Mendocino (3 minutes by car) but peacefully removed. The accommodations were comfortable and thoughtful. The sheets were outrageously soft! There were guestbooks in our room going back 30 years of happy people, and we added our own delighted note. The breakfasts were perfectly delicious and delivered promptly at 9 am every
We stayed at the converted Farmhouse at the Glendeven, and it was fantastically homely and cozy. There was an actual wood-burning fireplace in our room, which we made great use of. The breakfast is brought to your door each morning and absolutely mouthwatering- fresh eggs from the chickens on the land, fresh fruits, fresh hot chocolate, and more. Our room faces the llama enclosure, who were adorable to watch. Amazing service, amazing food, amazing sheets! Beautiful views and trails nearby. Highly highly rec
Nikki worked hard to find a perfect room for my situation. The room exceeded my expectations. The farm is beautiful. The beach access from a serene path through wild fuschia and roses was unexpected and delightful. Pricy, but isn't everything?
We stayed here on New Year?s Eve at farmhouse?s attic room with amazing ocean view and can also see Llamas from our window. Staff was very friendly and also feeding chicken and petting llamas was fun. The place is very close to couple of short trails and the little river beach which is another plus. The only thing I missed was that their hot-tub was under maintenance when we visited. Also bed and pillows were a little on stiffer side, but not bad.
This place is one of my all-time favorite go-to relaxation spots. In nice weather it's an excellent base for hiking forest or shorelines, taking photos or feeding the animals. In bad weather go wine tasting, check out the village, or curl up with a book before the fireplace in many of the rooms. The beds are luxurious, the breakfast tasty, the dinner at the restaurant well worth doing. I've been here three times now and always go back better than I arrived.
A great place to escape the city and just unwind by the ocean. Etta?s suite is charming and comes with a fantastic, hidden balcony that overlooks the llamas and ocean. The nearby hikes, especially the short hike to a hidden Van Damme beach, are absolute musts. The breakfasts are simply delightful but I wish they were full service or offered dinner services, at least. That is legitimately the only downside and it's not even that bad because there are plenty of solid eats to be experienced in the nearby Inns,
There are so many things to like about Glendeven: from the personal, reserved parking spot upon arrival; to the hand-written greeting; the wine and cookie treats; the chicken-feeding experience with thoughtfully-planned, recyclable bags; the cozy throws and robes; the sparkling-clean rooms; the lovely views; the friendly staffn the wonderfuln hot breakfast delivered to your door; the plentiful wood for a fire; a lavender sachet from the gardens on checkout. The stars are magnificent, the atmosphere is quiet
My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights before Thanksgiving. Even traveling has become hard after this flu pandemic, we feel very safe in this place because the employees all wore masks and even noticed guests to do that. The atmosphere is great to have a walk and feed chicken or see lama in their garden. The breakfast was wonderful, we enjoyed their bread and egg. There are a lot of small trails and beautiful beaches nearby, and don't forget to try some good restaurants in Mendocino, you will like them.
Great little inn with historic lodgings and a real homey appeal. We stayed in the Bayloft and really enjoyed the farm+ocean view and thoughtful room arrangement. The room was clean and kept really well. We did run into the occasional spider, but no other pests. The drawers are pretty old, so we didn't use them, but there's a lot of places to store things. The breakfast in a picnic basket is a real nice touch and the food was always great. Seeing the hens and llamas in the morning helped kick the day off rig
Stayed here in August and it was absolutely perfect! Everything about the hotel was whimsical and enchanting. Very spacious rooms with very cozy beds and delicious breakfast delivered to you every morning. The grounds set them apart from other hotels with all the hikes, beautiful flowers, and farm animals. Will definitely be back!
Amazing bed and breakfast in Little River, right next to Mendocino. We had a great stay here, will definitely be coming back and recommending to friends / family. The room was gorgeous, and the staff pay attention to so many little details that make the experience special - such as personal greeting kits and the fireplace being set up perfectly for a quick start. The in-room breakfast was delicious and is a very nice feature especially during COVID. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and we felt very
This is our second time here, and even though it's a six day stay, it is hard to say goodbye. This is such a gorgeous property. Delicious breakfasts. Wonderful, friendly, helpful staff. I don't want to leave. I just want to live here.
Love, love, love Glendeven Inn!!! The beauty of the gardens, animals, trees all around the property is so proufound and special to be a part of for a visit. We go for our anniversary get aways and just rest in the quiet and luxury of the comfortable rooms. There's also a ?Breakfast Fairy? who shows up magically every morning with a big basket of deliciousness carefully prepared and.put together with the freshest of ingredients, just for you! Many, many thanks and blessings to the kind, friendly, hard worki
My wife and I were on a road trip from SF to Eureka, and stayed in Glendeven Inn Mendocino for a night. We had such a wonderful experience! The house was surrounded by a lush garden and our window overlooked a llama farm (yes, real cute llamas) and the sea. Its hard to describe the joy and peacefulness of this idyllic place. The room is very clean and stylish, and the details showed a lot of thoughts and consideration. We loved our say and will definitely be back!
My girlfriend and I stayed there for 3 days over the Christmas holidays at the recommendation of my brother, who had stayed there last year with his partner. It was one of the best places I've ever stayed at. We got in late at night and they had a parking space with our names on it and a personalized note in our room. Not a big thing, but set a nice tone. The room (we got the garden room) was very nice and that's one of the cheaper rooms. The living room at the farmhouse was great, with a fireplace, te
Glendeven Inn is a little piece of heaven. We periodically make day trips to the coast. This time we wanted to spend the night. The area around the Inn is rich in hiking trails. There are ocean views from the Inn and several areas to walk on the beach. The Inn is designed for a homey and peaceful experience. Every detail is attended to. Check-in was easy. My parking place had a sign welcoming me with my name. Our room was well appointed. Even our fireplace was ready to go with logs, kindling, and newspaper.
I've stayed a Glendeven several times now, and every time is amazing. Each time there are a couple new happy surprises they have added - like a welcome sign with your name on it on your parking spot. The breakfasts (brought to your room in a custom basket) are delicious, and the rooms and views are gorgeous. I will definitely be back whenever I need a perfect recharge weekend. Make sure you take a hike along the ocean headlands across the street - so beautiful.
Lovely place, clean, comfortable, charming. The "little touches" are truly where they excel, from the personalized parking space, the hand written happy anniversary note, the fresh baked brownies waiting in the room to the complimentary wine and snacks every night at 5:30... Oh, and the hot breakfast delivered to your door at 9am sharp is a delicious treat as well! Highly recommend. We will be back.
The service was friendly and extremely helpful. Kate at the front desk made great suggestions for dinner and then called and made our reservation. Our room had a fireplace and was very spacious. The bed was super comfortable. We spent most of the weekend hiking at the three nearby state parks so we didn't check out the spa services.
Lovely location but accommodations were not up to expectations. When paying over $300 a night I expect the towels to be better not worse than mine at home; I expect the bed to not feel like I must either sleep on a mountain or in a valley; the water "glasses" were plastic; the bathroom fan sounded like a plane was taking off; and the note to just light the fireplace...was a lie...tried it twice ...first time just the paper burned..notified front desk the second time the fire stater burned...wood never ca
We had a fantastic time, breakfast was delicious and hot, the trails were nice. You could feed the chickens and they were friendly. Couldn't have asked for a better place to spend the weekend. Highly recommend staying here if you're going to be in Mendocino.
