Prompt answering with a pleasant surprise of customer service! This office is great to work with. They handle a lot of needs for us entrepreneurs and small business owners One-Stop-Shop!
Being in sales and having rental properties is stressful enough, but keeping up with all the back end work makes it nearly impossible. After meeting Selena and her son, I was able to have a more successful year and was more organized. Not scared of 2024! Selena Fogg CPA and crew are top notch and reasonably priced. Highly recommend! ??
My husband and I sought out Selena Fogg with tax issues that were over our heads a few years ago. She seemed confident that she could correct the issues, and we trusted her. However, we have had several issues since. The most pressing is that 9 months after paying her to do so, our 2022 taxes still have not been filed and we are receiving letters from the IRS. We were never informed that the documents were denied by the IRS, and have been waiting to hear if the documents have been submitted and accepted aft
I am also shocked with all the good reviews. Selena did our taxes for a few years. Then one year last minute she had her secretary tell us she wouldn?t be preparing taxes any longer, they were only helping people in IRS ?troubles? and left us searching. Prices were never consistent and overall very unprofessional.
Selena is amazing! She listened to my fears and needs, then she explained the process. I left feeling confident and calm. What had concerned me for weeks is resolved. I will be able to sleep tonight. If you need peace of mind call Selena. She is very knowledgeable and her service is wonderful, fast and efficient. I highly recommend Selena!
Selena and her staff are super friendly, fairly priced and quick to respond, even during the busiest part of the season! This was the first time I looked to a CPA for my taxes after buying my first home, changing jobs and doing more freelance work. The portal made the process really easy. Will definitely be coming back and recommending them to friends!
We were referred to Selena Fogg through a mutual acquaintance and could not be happier with the result. Her work on our taxes completely exceeded our expectations. Selena was punctual in all aspects of completing the work and was completely willing along the way to answer questions and explain more complex situations. She has a thorough knowledge of the new tax laws and helped us achieve the most efficient return possible. In addition, her rate is very reasonable. We have found an accountant we trust and wi
Recent changes in our financial picture (retirement, sale of a part-time business and aqisition of rental properties) prompted me to look for CPA to do our taxes for the first time. I did my research online and decided on Selena Fogg. Having done our taxes using Turbo tax for several years trying to save money, I found the $300 tax prep fee to be a shockingly good surprise. I was further blown away by her professionalism, thoroughness, accessibility and communication throughout the process. My return was fi
We went to Selena in 2019 when we got a very scary letter from the IRS. Over the past 3 years, she has been working with the IRS on our behalf, and it turns out they owe us money. She is extremely thorough and made us feel comfortable through the whole experience... Most notably when she told us "you owe nothing, and you can cash this (large) return".
Selena is not only a great accountant, super hyper ultra professional. It is also a great person and I always enjoyed the moments when we met to do my small business taxes. I felt in love in such a way with Selena's work, that I'm still using her services despite of being now located in Virginia!!!
Phew! This office comes in CLUTCH! Everything can be handled with one call and done with love and respect. Clutch :)
I am shocked at any positive reviews for Selena Fogg MPA CPA. I regret having trusted Selena and team with my tax return and will never work with them again. Their level of effort is bare minimum and their lack of communication cost me hundreds of dollars in penalties. I even found a basic error in my very simple return - review everything yourself! I thought working with a professional CPA would make me feel more confident, but Selena was anything but professional. I should have stuck with TurboTax.
Such a wonderful helper. We were at a loss at what to do with our new business taxes and being scared to get crossways with the IRS monsters. She walked us through everything and made it easy to understand for this thick headed guy. I can?t recommend her enough.
Selena Fog is an amazing CPA, helps me tax strategies, and has set up multiple LLC's for me. She takes care of it and I don't have to worry about it.
Selena and her team was awesome! I was very nervous this year as my situation was "complicated" to me but was a breeze for them. Thank you so much for the outstanding service!
Terrible experience? did our taxes wrong! My husband went to her a week after she filled to get it corrected in April . She did not finish corrections until end of August! We made several phone calls to check up on her process . She was never there and never returned our phone calls. Got charged interest because of her!
Selena is a genius. She loves and enjoys doing what she does and she?s so very good at it!
She is ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE! So knowledgeable! My husband and I own our own businesses and have investments. She taught us how to save SO MUCH MONEY! She set us up for success and for our future investments. Highly recommended!!!!
Selena takes very good care of our business. She helps us make wise decisions
Very professional, and was able to get everything completed in a very timely manner!! She also helped me get caught up on several years!
This lady is AMAZING!!!!!!! She helped us so Much!! Thank you Selena!
I had been dealing with an accountant that made me scared of taxes Selena not only saved me money but was quick and very helpful. Next year I'll gladly be back
Selena is amazing. I always feel better after talking to her. Highly recommended.
After my meeting with Selena I can breathe! She?s an amazing CPA and is so personable.
Amazing! I would highly recommend!, quick & professional. Will definitely continue being a client!
I always expect it to be painful when I go in to go over my taxes but she always makes it easy.
1st time using a CPA. She is awesome! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!
Great accountant. Knows her stuff. Highly, Highly recommend!!
Upon arrival, I was experiencing significant tax-related concerns. Selena's professionalism and courteous demeanor immediately put me at ease. She promptly addressed my issues and is providing effective assistance at a reasonable cost.
Look for a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license, which ensures they’ve passed rigorous exams and meet state requirements. Check for relevant experience in your industry, additional certifications like CFA or CMA, and membership in professional organizations like the AICPA. Verify their credentials through state licensing boards.
Use online directories like the AICPA, CPAverify, or state CPA societies. Search platforms like Yelp or Google for local CPAs with reviews. Ask for referrals from business associates, friends, or financial advisors. Local chambers of commerce can also provide recommendations.
A CPA is a licensed professional who has passed the CPA exam and met state requirements for education and experience. An accountant may lack this certification and could have varying levels of expertise. For complex tasks like tax audits or financial reporting, a CPA is typically more qualified.
Ask about their experience with your specific financial needs, such as tax preparation, small business accounting, or estate planning. Review their website or LinkedIn for case studies or client testimonials. Inquire about their client base to ensure they handle similar financial situations.
Yes, reviews provide insight into a CPA’s reliability, communication, and performance. Check platforms like Google, Yelp, or the Better Business Bureau for client feedback. Look for patterns in reviews, but verify their authenticity, as some may be biased or outdated.
Visit your state’s Board of Accountancy website or use CPAverify.org to check a CPA’s license status. Confirm their license is active and check for any disciplinary actions or complaints. This ensures they’re in good standing and meet professional standards.
Ask about their experience with your financial needs, fee structure, availability, and communication style. Inquire how they handle tax filings, audits, or financial planning. Ask for references or examples of similar work to assess their expertise and fit.
Fees vary based on location, services, and complexity. Basic tax preparation may cost $150-$500, while business accounting or audits can range from $1,000 to $10,000+. Request a detailed fee structure upfront and compare quotes from multiple CPAs.
Yes, many CPAs offer remote services through secure online platforms for document sharing and virtual consultations. Ensure they use encrypted tools for data security. Remote CPAs can be effective if they understand your local tax laws or business regulations.
During consultations, evaluate their ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly. Ask sample questions about taxes or financial strategies and note their responsiveness and clarity. Good communication ensures you understand their advice and fosters a productive relationship.
Beware of CPAs who guarantee specific tax refunds, lack a valid license, or have disciplinary actions on record. Avoid those with poor communication, vague fee structures, or negative reviews highlighting unethical behavior. Always verify their credentials independently.
Large firms offer more resources and specialized teams but may charge higher fees. Solo practitioners often provide personalized service and lower costs but may have limited availability. Choose based on your needs, budget, and preference for personalized attention.
For individuals, annual meetings for tax preparation may suffice. Businesses may need quarterly or monthly check-ins for bookkeeping, tax planning, or financial reporting. Discuss your needs upfront to establish a meeting schedule that aligns with your financial goals.
Yes, many CPAs handle both, but confirm their expertise in both areas. Ask about their experience managing personal taxes and business accounting simultaneously. Ensure they can balance both without compromising attention to your specific financial needs.
Discuss concerns directly with your CPA to resolve issues. If unresolved, check your contract for termination terms. Seek a new CPA by researching reviews, credentials, and referrals. Request your financial records to ensure a smooth transition to a new professional.
