I cannot speak highly enough of Simplified Business Solutions. After enduring a protracted legal battle with our land developer over six trees in our backyard ? which were tragically killed due to excessive dirt placement ? I sought the expertise of Kevin McDonnell and his exceptional team. From the outset, they demonstrated an unparalleled level of professionalism and cohesion, functioning like a meticulously coordinated machine under Kevin?s adept leadership. We initially sought a modest settlement, but
When my wife and I moved to Texas two+ years ago, we didn't have a clue where to go for our tax/legal needs. We searched online and were very happy to find a firm that handles both. As small business owners, they have provided us with proper guidance to ensure we are always on the right track, and their customer service is exceptional. When we go into Simplified we are treated better than family; everyone stops in and asks how we are doing. Couldn?t be happier we found this group for both our personal and
Speaking for the Legal side of the house (Estate/Will), 5 ????? were earned for the following points as follows: 1. Strong clear Communication 2. Fair pricing 3. Professional environment 4. Sensitive Customer Service during my loss 5. Timely turnaround on setting court date and filing. They made this process as seamless as possible during a dark valley in my life. From the receptionist, to Lori the paralegal (a gem), and to both Attorneys, they "simplified the business of death" (I grant permission to use t
I regret to say that my experience with Janet Marusak was not positive. I found her to be unkind and unpleasant in our interactions. Additionally, I felt that she lacked respect for others. Based on my experience, I would not recommend her to anyone.
We have been coming here for 5+ years now. Everyone is so welcoming and professional. Our returns have been greater than anywhere else we?ve gone to in the past.
My rating reflects my experience with the Tax and Accounting side of this business. I cannot speak to the legal side of the house, but after my experience with the Tax and Accounting side. However, I will pursue other firms to address my business legal matters based on this experience. When using this Simplified Business Solutions I had two issues: 1) Communication and 2) Level of Service. I had four years of tax returns that I needed to file for business and personal which was clearly express in my int
Excellent tax and litigation law firm. Kevin is a hoot to work with as are the entire staff. As for the troll that left a one star review, why would you go to a law firm that deals in tax litigation for a traffic citation ? It makes no sense. Also, because of the COVID-19 issue, the office staff is having to work from home along with the fact that the courts are closed. Adjudication of a traffic citation needs to be dealt with by taking the online traffic school. It costs less. If on the other hand, your i
Very professional, timely communication, and they do what?s right. Highly recommended.
Always a good experience. My questions are answered professionally & with respect, which I really appreciate!
I cannot say enough GREAT things about Kevin and his law firm. He is extremely knowledgeable and has a strong passion for the law. I had an employer/employee dispute (me, being the employee) and we were up against a big, fancy law firm in Ft. Worth. Kevin did not back down, he is confident about his knowledge, competitive, and aggressive. He also cares about his clients, their wellbeing and how the outcome will effect them. Kevin always responded to my emails within the day and if my questions required
McDonnell Coates has helped me restructure my business over the past year with the formation of a new entity and documents to expand and bring in a partner. Kevin and I met multiple times and I was always impressed by his and his staff's respect for my time and completion of my projects in a prompt manner. He was thorough in his information and was very patient with me as I was learning the nuances of my business's new direction. I highly recommend their services and will continue to use them as my busine
Class act organization, keeps it fun, family oriented and have appreciated the servant leadership and service Simplified Business Solutions have offered to my company. Highly recommend them for a one stop shop for legal or tax management. Keep up the great work!
I contacted Attorney McDonnell after dealing with an issue for over 8 months and he resolved my issue in 30 days with a check in hand. He is an excellent negotiator and a true professional. I recommend him for all civil law services. I will continue to use him.
It wont allow me to make a comment without at least one star but they dont deserve any kudos. This company did not take care of my business. I ended up paying thousands in penalties due to their oversight on my franchise tax. I repeatedly asked them to help me and I received no assistance at all. I am now with a different CPA who has been very helpful.
We hired this firm for a termination of parental rights and step parent adoption on October 31, 2016. This firm was provided with the absent parent?s photograph, home address, work address, and cell phone number. A year later they had not even served him the termination papers. This firm was slow to answer emails, consistently forgot to cc all parties involved on emails, and refused to give solid answers to questions. What should have been a straight forward case has been made anything but.
We used these attorneys to help with guardianship of our disabled daughter and to complete our wills. Kevin and Dustin were very professional yet personable. We felt comfortable asking all our questions. I would highly recommend them!!!
Kevin and Dusty are the best lawyers that I have ever worked with. They have such an advantage having a CPA firm and Law firm in-house. This opens up a lot of possibilities for their clients especially if it is a business need. I highly recommend this firm.
We just had 2 wills drawn up by Dustin. They were all very professional, friendly and helpful. Highly recommend.
This place only gets one star because it was required to write a review. Let me say that i have spoke to maybe 2 pleasant ladies from their office. I thought from reading the reviews that this would be a good place to get my traffic matter handled. I thought wrong. I contacted them in February through my legal plan, and explained the issue, in which they stated they may be able to take care of it. I filled out the necessary paperwork, and waited for results. I waited about a week and called for an update, a
Aubrey was great, professional with a lot of help
I've worked with other tax attorney's in the past - however, this one is the best by far. Unlike past attorneys I've worked with, these guys are honest and up front with you. I highly recommend this law firm for anyone trying to realistically resolve a serious tax crisis. Regards Suave
Took them over 2 years to respond to the fact that they had sent my address to my abusive ex husband....they knew I was in a dangerous situation and told me that my address would not be on the copy of the divorce my ex would get...we even hand wrote it on the paper after he signed it so that he would NOT see my address when he signed the document. I had to move and break my lease because he knew where I was and made sure I knew. Aug of 2015 is when I first emailed them about the situation and I finally got
My experience was absolutely great!! Lori was SO helpful in getting everything taken care of.
I've worked with Kevin for several years now and he's always been honest and upfront. Very knowledgeable and professional. I would highly recommend this firm.
Kevin and his staff are great to work with for trust , wills and power of attorney?s . I would highly recommend them for your legal needs.
Every time I have had questions they have been answered in a timely manner.
Kevin McDonald has cheated me out of all the money he owes me just because he thinks he's going to turn you can do it that's wrong wrong wrong I think he should do business better. It is my opinion, that he is a rat. Stay away from him. Don't do any work for him.
Mr McDonnell does not return calls or follow through on his word. My advice.is to find another law office for any legal matters.
Easily and efficiently done! Did not feel rushed and answered all questions wonderfully!! Highly recommend for legal advise and estate planning.
"I used Kevin to set up an LLC for my business as well as a Will." Very knowledgeable, very professional!
Great people and great service! Truely helped beyond all expectations
Staff was very informative. I highly recommend their services!
Extremely helpful and responsive in handling our requests and timely turnaround.
Very unprofessional!!! They are rude and doesn't do anything they say. I will be reporting them to the BBB.
Such great staff! Helpful to this newbie in the area!
Great work and very responsive!
Professional, helpful, knowledgeable!! Highland recommend!!
Efficient & professional
(Translated by Google) Don't Hire Them ?????? I don't have words to explain the terrible service they give in this office, they promised to fix my problem and the only thing they did was ask for money and more money. They have no idea of ??the amounts they were asking me for. In less than a year they ended up with my money and I had to change lawyers because after my account was in seros and how they saw that there was no more money, they simply told me, well, if you want, we will withdraw from the case and
Look for a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license, which ensures they’ve passed rigorous exams and meet state requirements. Check for relevant experience in your industry, additional certifications like CFA or CMA, and membership in professional organizations like the AICPA. Verify their credentials through state licensing boards.
Use online directories like the AICPA, CPAverify, or state CPA societies. Search platforms like Yelp or Google for local CPAs with reviews. Ask for referrals from business associates, friends, or financial advisors. Local chambers of commerce can also provide recommendations.
A CPA is a licensed professional who has passed the CPA exam and met state requirements for education and experience. An accountant may lack this certification and could have varying levels of expertise. For complex tasks like tax audits or financial reporting, a CPA is typically more qualified.
Ask about their experience with your specific financial needs, such as tax preparation, small business accounting, or estate planning. Review their website or LinkedIn for case studies or client testimonials. Inquire about their client base to ensure they handle similar financial situations.
Yes, reviews provide insight into a CPA’s reliability, communication, and performance. Check platforms like Google, Yelp, or the Better Business Bureau for client feedback. Look for patterns in reviews, but verify their authenticity, as some may be biased or outdated.
Visit your state’s Board of Accountancy website or use CPAverify.org to check a CPA’s license status. Confirm their license is active and check for any disciplinary actions or complaints. This ensures they’re in good standing and meet professional standards.
Ask about their experience with your financial needs, fee structure, availability, and communication style. Inquire how they handle tax filings, audits, or financial planning. Ask for references or examples of similar work to assess their expertise and fit.
Fees vary based on location, services, and complexity. Basic tax preparation may cost $150-$500, while business accounting or audits can range from $1,000 to $10,000+. Request a detailed fee structure upfront and compare quotes from multiple CPAs.
Yes, many CPAs offer remote services through secure online platforms for document sharing and virtual consultations. Ensure they use encrypted tools for data security. Remote CPAs can be effective if they understand your local tax laws or business regulations.
During consultations, evaluate their ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly. Ask sample questions about taxes or financial strategies and note their responsiveness and clarity. Good communication ensures you understand their advice and fosters a productive relationship.
Beware of CPAs who guarantee specific tax refunds, lack a valid license, or have disciplinary actions on record. Avoid those with poor communication, vague fee structures, or negative reviews highlighting unethical behavior. Always verify their credentials independently.
Large firms offer more resources and specialized teams but may charge higher fees. Solo practitioners often provide personalized service and lower costs but may have limited availability. Choose based on your needs, budget, and preference for personalized attention.
For individuals, annual meetings for tax preparation may suffice. Businesses may need quarterly or monthly check-ins for bookkeeping, tax planning, or financial reporting. Discuss your needs upfront to establish a meeting schedule that aligns with your financial goals.
Yes, many CPAs handle both, but confirm their expertise in both areas. Ask about their experience managing personal taxes and business accounting simultaneously. Ensure they can balance both without compromising attention to your specific financial needs.
Discuss concerns directly with your CPA to resolve issues. If unresolved, check your contract for termination terms. Seek a new CPA by researching reviews, credentials, and referrals. Request your financial records to ensure a smooth transition to a new professional.
