Since partnering with SKC Accounting, founded by the knowledgeable duo Susan and Andrew, I've had an incredibly positive experience. They make what's often a daunting task?managing finances?feel straightforward and manageable. From day one, Susan and Andrew have been approachable and genuinely invested in my business's success. They're not just accountants; they?re advisors who take the time to understand my unique financial situation and goals. Their guidance has been invaluable, whether it?s navigating
I came to SKC Accounting in a terrible state! And I arrived at their door in the middle of tax season! Yet the team at SKC rallied to process an emergency government issue for me! I thought all hope was lost. But a friend recommended SKC and I am eternally grateful! The team worked overtime, diligently, maintaining their excellence through out the process. They endured all my fears and kept me full of hope, reassuring me all would be well. And they were right!
Andrew and Sarah are SO NICE and HELPFUL! Andrew is primarily who supports me with personal and business accounting. He is always on top of things, communicates effectively, and EXTREMELY quickly, which I really appreciate. He has consistently replied to my questions, emails, calls or walk-in within minutes. I highly recommend SKC Accounting -- they actually help relieve the stress of taxes, business accounting, etc, and are so helpful, taking the time to explain topics in a very kind and informative way. Highly recommend - they are professional, knowledgeable and extremely helpful with any questions you may have. This being my first encounter with the firm and I am very pleased they were recommended by a friend. Will definitely be using SKC Accounting for tax filing in the future.
Called with a general question about their services and was told it was something they offered (personal taxes). The accountant who called back to speak about my needs was condecending, rude, and quoted an astronomcial amount for personal taxes due "the market" despite talking down about how simple our taxes would be to file. He acted like my business would not be worth his time and then pressured me to make a decision on the spot. I can't speak to their work, but I can't fathom using them or coming back ye
SKC Accounting is an amazing business that has been super helpful and upfront about costs. The instructions for my tax return were easy to follow and they were able to tell me how to prepare for my tax return next year. They clearly know what they?re talking about and are very knowledgeable. Best business ever. The customer service is phenomenal - they really seem to care about the people. I will definitely be coming back next year!
We only do our taxes with SKC. Over the years our taxes have been harder to file as we work in different states and move frequently. Thankfully, SKC never has a problem with our difficult tax filing, and they make it very easy for us to feel confident our taxes are 100% correct. Extremely reliable and positive company with great people and customer service. 10/10 recommend for anyone who has issues filing themselves!
SKC is the best! Andrew has jumped on calls to help me figure out business questions at no extra charge. His wife Sarah reached out to my other financial adviser to help me figure out the best plan for my business. They know their stuff and have a team that I highly recommend.
We have had a great experience with SKC Accounting! As a family owned/family run business, they understand us and have been fantastic guidance as we move forward in our business. Wonderful customer service and always gets back to us quickly if we have questions!
SKC Accounting has been incredible in the years I have used them. Andrew and Sarah are great people who are always looking out for your best interest. They really know their stuff when it comes to talking about taxes and are able to communicate the information to me in terms I understand. I would highly recommend their services to anyone and everyone!
SKC Accounting is an incredible business! All of my interactions with Sarah and Andrew have been nothing short of wonderful. They are great people to work with and I can confidently say that I am in good hands with them. I will continue to go to them for all of my accounting needs in the future. I cannot recommend them enough!
This was our first year using SKC for our taxes and we could not have made a better choice. Our taxes are somewhat complicated to do however we met with Sarah and Andrew and their knowledge of how our business works was amazing. They took the time and listened to us and helped us come up with plans for business in the future. You are in good hands with the SKC group for sure.
I have done my personal and business taxes with SKC for the past 5 or so years. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. They make returns incredibly easy with e-filing and fast communication over email or phone. Good quality at fair rates.
Starting a new business is a challenge in and of itself and monitoring one?s finances adds an additional layer of stress. Knowing that I have a partner in SKC Accounting to assist me with the financial burdens of a fast paced transactional business allows me more time and freedom to focus on growing my company in other ways. SKC has been a true asset and I consider them a large part of my company?s success!
I use SKC Accounting, LLC for my small business and personal taxes for the last two years. Their customer service is top notch and they do a great job for a very fair price. In my opinion, you will not be disappointed.
Sarah and Andrew have been fantastic to work with! When my husband and I came to them, we were not in a good place after being misguided by our former ?accountant?. Sarah and Andrew went above and beyond to reconcile all of our books, amended our tax return and put our business back on solid ground. They?re available, helpful and truly want our business to succeed. It?s such a relief to feel that our business is in good, capable hands.
Andrew Coy and SKC Accounting have been fantastic to work with for tax returns! They have been very accommodating and flexible and seem to have vested interest in making sure you get the best refund.
Being someone who has struggled with their taxes in the past working with accountants who have been terrible with communication, switching to SKC was a breath of fresh air! Sarah and Andrew have been so amazing and really have made filing my taxes such a painless process! Their communication is off the charts and they really know how to explain the process in a way that I can understand! Thank you guys for being amazing!!
I cannot be the easiest client to work with as I entirely dislike accounting. Okay, truth be told, I hate it. And that?s the reason why I needed a good accountant to depend on. SKC Accounting is my third accountant I?ve hired and they are great! Finally, someone I trust and feel l like they have my best interests at heart. My first accountant was dismissive, condescending and hard to reach. The second was okay at first but then crashed and burned ? in a huge, fireball inferno. I cannot even explain how bad
I have been working with SKC Accounting, LLC for several years for my rental properties located throughout Central PA. They have managed the bookkeeping, bill payment, and taxes for my business and personal tax returns. They provide expert advice at an extremely reasonable price. There is nothing I would not trust them with. I have recommended them to numerous other individuals who have likewise been pleased with their service.
Not doing business here again. Pretty bad customer service/practices. They don?t tell you that a fee is charged even if you don?t file with them. That should be said upfront, and not ?assumed.? Those literal words should be written somewhere, and they are not. With that being said, a little compassion goes a long way for a business. I believe I am right, and SKC believes they are right. It?s okay to disagree and as a business put the customer first. In the long run, it would probably have paid off. They don
I choose SKC Accounting for all my tax needs! The staff is so personable, efficient, and knowledgeable. From self employed business to personal taxes, I trust Sarah Coy and SKC with it all.
Hi , I have used Skc as an accountant for over 35 years . I find that they are very prompt in their delivery of the finished product or in answering questions or offering solutions to my questions. That is why I do not look any where else. Gary L Nalbandian , Realtor, real estate developer and Founder of Metro Bank.
I cannot speak more highly of their wonderful service. We had a very complex tax setup in our family and Sarah tackled it with ease and great friendly communication! I would highly recommend their services to anyone. Very blessed to have found them.
Andrew is very client friendly and conveys financial matters in a understandable manner. I felt that he was genuinely concerned about my and my companies best interest. Highly recommended. John Maxton
SKC Accounting was wonderful! Professional, prompt, and knowledgeable. We use them for both personal and business accounting and they've done nothing short of a fantastic job for both
Very helpful with some new tax issues we had this year. Fast responses to all my questions. Will definitely be using SKC Accounting in the future!
Love SKC Accounting!! Highly recommended for all your accounting needs. They are honest, responsive, experts, and kind.
SKC responds quickly and efficiently with answers to all my questions for payroll, accounting and tax questions! Highly recommend.
Horrible customer service. Andrew expects the general public to know about ?the accounting world? as if we are all professional accountants. They are sneaky and don?t fully tell you what you owe. If you don?t file with them, they still charge. What horrible business practices.
Personalized and quick, great location and even better people. Sarah and team helped me maximize my return and save us the stress of filing ourselves.
Excellent and highly recommended! I use SKC for both personal taxes and my small business and I am very pleased.
They are super easy to work with and spell things out in a very concise/organized way for my small business. I read some reviews that were obviously written out of ignorance.
The accounting itself has been excellent. Communication and follow-through are superior, which is worth more than anything else. I have complete confidence in this firm.
Amazing people to work with. Always go above and beyond to make sure everything is correctly executed. Personally and professionally appreciate this company!!!
Very knowledgeable & professional with quick turn around. I plan to continue my association.
Very knowledgeable group! Great for business or personal. Customer friendly!
Helpful, straightforward, and quick to reply to all of my questions.
Look for a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license, which ensures they’ve passed rigorous exams and meet state requirements. Check for relevant experience in your industry, additional certifications like CFA or CMA, and membership in professional organizations like the AICPA. Verify their credentials through state licensing boards.
Use online directories like the AICPA, CPAverify, or state CPA societies. Search platforms like Yelp or Google for local CPAs with reviews. Ask for referrals from business associates, friends, or financial advisors. Local chambers of commerce can also provide recommendations.
A CPA is a licensed professional who has passed the CPA exam and met state requirements for education and experience. An accountant may lack this certification and could have varying levels of expertise. For complex tasks like tax audits or financial reporting, a CPA is typically more qualified.
Ask about their experience with your specific financial needs, such as tax preparation, small business accounting, or estate planning. Review their website or LinkedIn for case studies or client testimonials. Inquire about their client base to ensure they handle similar financial situations.
Yes, reviews provide insight into a CPA’s reliability, communication, and performance. Check platforms like Google, Yelp, or the Better Business Bureau for client feedback. Look for patterns in reviews, but verify their authenticity, as some may be biased or outdated.
Visit your state’s Board of Accountancy website or use CPAverify.org to check a CPA’s license status. Confirm their license is active and check for any disciplinary actions or complaints. This ensures they’re in good standing and meet professional standards.
Ask about their experience with your financial needs, fee structure, availability, and communication style. Inquire how they handle tax filings, audits, or financial planning. Ask for references or examples of similar work to assess their expertise and fit.
Fees vary based on location, services, and complexity. Basic tax preparation may cost $150-$500, while business accounting or audits can range from $1,000 to $10,000+. Request a detailed fee structure upfront and compare quotes from multiple CPAs.
Yes, many CPAs offer remote services through secure online platforms for document sharing and virtual consultations. Ensure they use encrypted tools for data security. Remote CPAs can be effective if they understand your local tax laws or business regulations.
During consultations, evaluate their ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly. Ask sample questions about taxes or financial strategies and note their responsiveness and clarity. Good communication ensures you understand their advice and fosters a productive relationship.
Beware of CPAs who guarantee specific tax refunds, lack a valid license, or have disciplinary actions on record. Avoid those with poor communication, vague fee structures, or negative reviews highlighting unethical behavior. Always verify their credentials independently.
Large firms offer more resources and specialized teams but may charge higher fees. Solo practitioners often provide personalized service and lower costs but may have limited availability. Choose based on your needs, budget, and preference for personalized attention.
For individuals, annual meetings for tax preparation may suffice. Businesses may need quarterly or monthly check-ins for bookkeeping, tax planning, or financial reporting. Discuss your needs upfront to establish a meeting schedule that aligns with your financial goals.
Yes, many CPAs handle both, but confirm their expertise in both areas. Ask about their experience managing personal taxes and business accounting simultaneously. Ensure they can balance both without compromising attention to your specific financial needs.
Discuss concerns directly with your CPA to resolve issues. If unresolved, check your contract for termination terms. Seek a new CPA by researching reviews, credentials, and referrals. Request your financial records to ensure a smooth transition to a new professional.
