Fantastic CPA firm! I run a small family owned retail business, and couldn't recommend their services more. I have worked with other CPA firms, and SKP blows them all out of the water. Mike Fino has helped me navigate tax situations, filed credits on behalf of my business that I didn't even know I had access to (which saved me thousands), and continues to voluntarily offer sound advice that saves me money. He is always available, explains everything in layman's terms, I trust him implicitly, and confidently
Working with Rich at SKP has been nothing short of incredible. As a small business owner, I was referred to Rich a few years back when I was just starting my practice. Prior to our initial visit I remember feeling intimidated, as I was in the very early stages of implementing the business and didn't even have an LLC set up. At our first visit, Rich welcomed me in a highly professional and nonjudgemental manner. I immediately felt at ease. He took the time to educate me, thoroughly answer all of my questions
We have used SKP for years for personal tax prep. They are excellent! They are highly responsive and knowledgeable. They helped us with personal tax filing that included taxes in multiple different states due to a move. Highly recommend, 5 stars, pleasure to work with.

I have worked with Michael for years and I will say that SKP Advisors are professional, experienced, and very attentive to their clients goals and needs. I had many new events that took place this past year and didn?t know how to navigate those tax situations but no matter what the question was, they found the best solution to fit my needs. Highly recommend 10 out of 10.
Incredible service and professionalism. We have worked with other accountants but SKP is by far the most reliable. We have worked with Mike Fino, who has gone out of his way to help us as his clients and we could not be more satisfied with SKP.
We have worked with Rich Pavano of SKP Accountants and Advisors for a decade. He has provided accounting services to us personally and to our business. He is reliable, professional, timely, and trustworthy. I would highly recommend him.
Amazing CPA Firm! I work with Michael Fino, CPA. I run a small & successful real estate business and own multi-family properties. It?s great to know that my accountant understands my businesses and always offers great advice. Whenever I have questions throughout the year, Michael is always available to help me too. Thank you SKP!
I am so fortunate Mike Fino's name was passed along to me while setting up my new business. He has been so attentive and patient through the whole process. We have made multiple changes in the creation of our business. Mike has been there right along side to help navigate us and file the correct paperwork. The part that really blows me away is that he has prioritized our loan application during his busiest time of the year. Accounting and the financials is not my strong suit when it comes to business.
SKP Advisors have been a game changer for our business. They are experts at what they do. We highly recommend getting with Rich and Mike they will treat your business as if it were their own. 10 STARS !!!!
I work with Mike Fino and he is so great and accessible to work with! I am just starting a small business and he has been the biggest support walking me through all of the steps and providing education! I cannot recommend working with SKP, and in particular, Mike, enough!!!
I can?t recommend SKP enough, I tell all my friends and family about them! Since starting to work with them everything has been so seamless and easy. Michael Fino has so much knowledge and makes navigating our taxes an enjoyable process.
I started to do my taxes and my others business related consulting with SKP last year. Mike is the guy who always get it done, he shared with me a lot of business set up ideas, always recommend him to my friends and business partners
I highly recommend SKP Accountants and Advisors. They provide excellent service in accounting, financial planning and tax planning. They are knowledgeable and quick to respond. We are very happy clients!
Rich is super knowledgeable and the best in the area! He has saved me a ton of time (in and out in under 45 mins) and money with his pricing. They are excellent about keeping to a schedule that helps me run my business successfully.
Rich Pavano is an excellent CPA, always makes himself available. Does a great job on my company's tax returns and my personal as well.
Horrible. I was a new client who was meeting with Brian with a longtime customer of his, and was given the impression my session was covered under theirs. Brian never went over any type of pricing with me as a new client, but then gave me a bill for $350! My tax refund was very simple and took him no longer than 20 minutes to prepare. Over $1,000/hour is insane! Brian was extremely rude and curt with me when trying to figure out why I was charged such a large amount, especially when no one in the office in
Rich, Jill and the rest of the staff I've dealt with are very patient and efficient. They are good at reminding about deadlines and keeping to a schedule which is helpful as I run my business.
Great team! Very easy to deal with. Highly recommend!
Look for a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license, which ensures they’ve passed rigorous exams and meet state requirements. Check for relevant experience in your industry, additional certifications like CFA or CMA, and membership in professional organizations like the AICPA. Verify their credentials through state licensing boards.
Use online directories like the AICPA, CPAverify, or state CPA societies. Search platforms like Yelp or Google for local CPAs with reviews. Ask for referrals from business associates, friends, or financial advisors. Local chambers of commerce can also provide recommendations.
A CPA is a licensed professional who has passed the CPA exam and met state requirements for education and experience. An accountant may lack this certification and could have varying levels of expertise. For complex tasks like tax audits or financial reporting, a CPA is typically more qualified.
Ask about their experience with your specific financial needs, such as tax preparation, small business accounting, or estate planning. Review their website or LinkedIn for case studies or client testimonials. Inquire about their client base to ensure they handle similar financial situations.
Yes, reviews provide insight into a CPA’s reliability, communication, and performance. Check platforms like Google, Yelp, or the Better Business Bureau for client feedback. Look for patterns in reviews, but verify their authenticity, as some may be biased or outdated.
Visit your state’s Board of Accountancy website or use CPAverify.org to check a CPA’s license status. Confirm their license is active and check for any disciplinary actions or complaints. This ensures they’re in good standing and meet professional standards.
Ask about their experience with your financial needs, fee structure, availability, and communication style. Inquire how they handle tax filings, audits, or financial planning. Ask for references or examples of similar work to assess their expertise and fit.
Fees vary based on location, services, and complexity. Basic tax preparation may cost $150-$500, while business accounting or audits can range from $1,000 to $10,000+. Request a detailed fee structure upfront and compare quotes from multiple CPAs.
Yes, many CPAs offer remote services through secure online platforms for document sharing and virtual consultations. Ensure they use encrypted tools for data security. Remote CPAs can be effective if they understand your local tax laws or business regulations.
During consultations, evaluate their ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly. Ask sample questions about taxes or financial strategies and note their responsiveness and clarity. Good communication ensures you understand their advice and fosters a productive relationship.
Beware of CPAs who guarantee specific tax refunds, lack a valid license, or have disciplinary actions on record. Avoid those with poor communication, vague fee structures, or negative reviews highlighting unethical behavior. Always verify their credentials independently.
Large firms offer more resources and specialized teams but may charge higher fees. Solo practitioners often provide personalized service and lower costs but may have limited availability. Choose based on your needs, budget, and preference for personalized attention.
For individuals, annual meetings for tax preparation may suffice. Businesses may need quarterly or monthly check-ins for bookkeeping, tax planning, or financial reporting. Discuss your needs upfront to establish a meeting schedule that aligns with your financial goals.
Yes, many CPAs handle both, but confirm their expertise in both areas. Ask about their experience managing personal taxes and business accounting simultaneously. Ensure they can balance both without compromising attention to your specific financial needs.
Discuss concerns directly with your CPA to resolve issues. If unresolved, check your contract for termination terms. Seek a new CPA by researching reviews, credentials, and referrals. Request your financial records to ensure a smooth transition to a new professional.
