Customer Reviews

I've been working with Snohomish CPA for a number of years and have been incredibly impressed with their timeliness, accuracy, and professionalism. They are supportive in talking through personal as well as small business tax strategies and options. Dan, the owner and CPA has helped us with our small business accounting in a very positive and impactful way. I would highly recommend Snohomish CPA to anyone looking for a CPA in the Snohomish County area and beyond.

I've been using them for a few years now and they're honest, knowledgeable, and have a pretty quick turnaround. Would definitely recommend them to anyone!

Expertise with a smile! My Tax situation was complex with several businesses, investment accounts and IRS hurdles to overcome. Snohomish CPA knocked it out of the park. I would highly recommend Mr. Bhathella for his expertise, knowledge and compassion for his clients. Sincerely thank you!

I wanted to look into transferring some funds from traditional to Roth IRA but felt it might be a good idea to get some professional help to avoid waking up the tax monster and a friend of mine had mentioned a while back that she had used Snohomish CPA so I contacted them. After I deposited the required $150 they scheduled a "consultation". All I got out of it was the approximate price they would charge me for the conversion projection and instructing me to contact them after tax season was over. Chargi

My experience with Dan was very limited but very good. Let me explain. I have been doing my own taxes since 2006. Complications to my tax situation came up for 2020 that caused me to pay estimated taxes and file an extension back in April. In early August, I decided to contact Snohomish CPA because of their close proximity to where I live. I made an appointment to meet with Dan for a half-hour consultation. The day before the scheduled appointment, he called me to explain that a conflict came up and needed

Been a customer for several years. They are quick, personable and always there for any questions. Highly recommended.

Top notch, professional, current and very knowledgeable. Great value. Been with them for a few years and am very pleased. Because of an upcoming trip I needed some tax work done expeditiously. They exceeded my expectations and had the work done in a day. They take the time to explain their work and answer your questions.

They helped me file my first income tax return and were very fast and prompt with their service. I also had an issue with the IRS and they helped resolve that as well by giving me a letter that I sent to the IRS. Overall my experience with this company has been great. I highly recommend them.

I met with Dan last February 22 to review my capital gains tax for my estate. I paid him $300. He said he would put together a tax projection, but it was tax season so he couldn?t get to it right away. About three weeks later he finally called me. I called him back and told his assistant I talked to my lawyer about deductions. Dan called me back about five minutes later and dropped me! He said I wasn?t supposed to talk to my lawyer about tax questions! I don?t believe that. So he took $300 of my money and b

Excellent, fast and professional service. This CPA really knows his stuff. I had a very complicated tax situation with multiple states, small business and rental property. Dan completed my return quickly at a reasonable cost. Very impressed with the service I received.

First Class Accounting Services! The knowledge, expertise and service I have received keeps me coming back to Snohomish CPA year after year. Even on a complex return with multiple businesses, crypto and other market related transactions the team at Snohomish CPA takes the time to ensure I am taken care of and informed every step of the way. Additionally I always appreciate that they take the time to mail out a summary of what we covered last year which helps me prep for the current year of filing. If you ar

This is an update to my previous rating for Snohomish CPA. I did mean to put a 5 star but inadvertently put a 4. As you will see below, I went to them about 2 months ago with questions and got a great response. On February 7th I dropped off my tax information with Dan, to do my taxes and by the 10th, I got a call from his son Akash, stating that they were ready for me to pick up. ?? I am amazed with all of the prep paperwork they give, to be very thorough in getting you the best outcome. And that is exactl

Always use a CPA. I had been having my small business tax returns prepared for years by one of those tax prep services you see all over the place. Fortunately I found Dan at Snohomish CPA and he immediately spotted, explained and corrected errors in our previous returns. He also had much other helpful advice for me to consider. I prefer to focus on my day to day business. I had always assumed that all tax prep was the same. Now I know better.

DanIs been doing a good job for me for the last 10 years

As a small business owner, I understand the importance of good customer service and appreciation. I reached out to ask for help and guidance, and was clearly a burden. It?s very apparent that they are so busy, that they aren?t appreciative or interested in new business. I was late for my scheduled appointment with Dan, so I popped in to apologize then asked to reschedule. That got me a 15 min sit down to scare me away. He went on to tell me how busy they are, loaded me up with the homework that I was lookin

From the very first contact with Snohomish CPA?s office to schedule an appointment for our taxes, the staff member, Michelle, was courteous and professional. All of our questions were answered and the service from Dan was fast. What a wonderful experience. We?ll definitely be using Dan for tax purposes in the future. We highly recommend Snohomish CPA?s accounting services.

I'm an auditor by trade and have been pleased with the knowledge and service provided by Dan and his team. They have been doing exceptional work on both our personal and family estate federal and out of state tax returns.

Had a very brief meeting with Dan to discuss a couple questions to help me move forward on a new venture. He was not only knowledgeable and thoughtful, but honest and fair. Anyone that is willing to take the time to meet with other to help educate them even when it doesn't mean much personal profit is someone worth doing business with.

Dan helped my wife and I answer a few tax related complications. He made time for us during what I can only assume is his busiest time of the year. He was very polite and straightforward with his advice.

We are so thankful to Dan at Snohomish CPA. Our family's tax and accounting questions were answered quickly and efficiently and we enjoyed our first year using Snohomish CPA's income tax filing services. Thanks to Dan and his helpful and friendly staff!

EDIT: As you can see the owner did reply to my review and what he stated is false and misleading. This was my first ever review on here as I wanted to make sure potential customers knew the truth about the horrible service this company offers. I have only left one other review and it was the same day after a visit to a local sandwich shop. As I visit places, I leave reviews going forward. As a follow up, I did receive a call back where the mysteriously were able to find my number from a message I left befor

Dan did a great job for me. I had a mistake from a previous year return where I thought I would owe something no matter what, turns out I got a refund after he filed an amendment for me. Thanks! Very nice!

I've been going to Dan for Tax services for years. Dan simplified our complicated Taxes. Very Dependable and easy to work with, I would recommend Snohomish CPA to anyone looking for quality tax service.

What a great service I received from the accountant of this company. It was a pleasure to work with this company and their amazing accountant. He was a great person and was very honest and polite with me. He did a great job while filing my returns and I was very satisfied.

Spoke with Dan on the phone about small business start-up advice. He was really nice and very informative over the phone. I'm looking forward to working with him in the future as my business gets off the ground.

After reading positive reviews, I went to this company with my very complicated taxes. ?Rental property, multiple states, unemployment, moving expenses, etc. The accountants were highly qualified to deal my issue. They compiled all documents and fixed my tax issues. I want to continue with them in future.

I stopped in with no appointment about 30 minutes before they closed with hopes of getting some tax questions answered, the person who greeted me took the time to answer all of my questions in detail, and in a way that made sense to me. I was happy with the professionalism and I will be back to have my taxes done next year! ????

Dan has been my tax accountant for several years, and I've always been super pleased with the service I receive. He's extremely knowledgeable about tax law.

They've been doing my taxes for years now. Very professional, knowledgeable, timely and helpful service. Thank you Dan

Due to some controversy I left my old tax preparer and hired this accounting service company. The accountant I met was very cheerful and smart and had a vast knowledge of accounting and taxation. I would recommend this accounting service to all.

Excellent and professional services. We are doing taxes with Dan for more than 5 years. Best prices in town. Highly recommend to all my friends.

Paid $160.00 to get my taxes to be done, IRS sends letter saying they need additional documents. These guys say they to make an amendment and will charge $175.00 extra. Take your money somewhere else.

I had a terrible experience with this company. They accessed my computer remotely and in my Quickbooks they managed to change the check numbers on six checks that I had written, neglected to send a 1090 to one of my subcontractors, and wrote one paycheck, in which they got the withholding wrong. Too bad I can't give less than one star

I have been using Snohomish CPA for years and will continue to! Akash is communicative and timely.

My situation was complicated to say the least. They were very supportive, always responded to my emails when I had questions and helped me in ways that others may not have. I appreciate these guys and they have my future business from now on. Thank You

Great experience. My taxes are fairly complex, they completed them at a competitive rate. They do a great job, especially with multi-state taxes.

Snohomish CPA was the only accountant that got back to me and responded to my inquiry in a timely manner. I appreciate Snohomish CPA answering some initial questions, helping me determine if I needed an accountant or not.

Snohomish cpa, did a great job on our taxes, they were thorough, and reasonable priced, tthey will continue to do our taxes

I am so glad that I have found a great place to help me out with my taxes. I had a complicated situation that I needed help with. Now I'm not so worried about it. Thank you!

Dan handled my estate taxes quickly and professionally. Great service! Would recommend these guys.

Dan was so helpful and knowledgeable! We definitely will be using his services again next year. ????

Extremely helpful. They were able to look through my paperwork and sort out the problem with my taxes within minutes.

Snohomish CPA is thorough, competent, answers all my questions and explains them so that I understand. Great service and friendly!

Met with Dan concerning audit issues. He worked through them competently communicating clearly and in a friendly manner.

By far the WORST customer service I?ve ever had. They didn?t even complete my taxes, I had to pick them up and find a new tax accountant. What a joke.

Dan has been very helpful with navigating through various tax complexities and quick to reply to most queries.

I have used Snohomish CPA for a few years now. Very prompt and polite service.

"Great place to file taxes. Very professional and the people are great. Great experience."

Not impressed with Dan, the CPA. Poor Customer service. Poor attitude

Frequently Asked Questions

What qualifications should I look for in a CPA?

Look for a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license, which ensures they’ve passed rigorous exams and meet state requirements. Check for relevant experience in your industry, additional certifications like CFA or CMA, and membership in professional organizations like the AICPA. Verify their credentials through state licensing boards.

How do I find a CPA in my area?

Use online directories like the AICPA, CPAverify, or state CPA societies. Search platforms like Yelp or Google for local CPAs with reviews. Ask for referrals from business associates, friends, or financial advisors. Local chambers of commerce can also provide recommendations.

What’s the difference between a CPA and an accountant?

A CPA is a licensed professional who has passed the CPA exam and met state requirements for education and experience. An accountant may lack this certification and could have varying levels of expertise. For complex tasks like tax audits or financial reporting, a CPA is typically more qualified.

How do I know if a CPA specializes in my needs?

Ask about their experience with your specific financial needs, such as tax preparation, small business accounting, or estate planning. Review their website or LinkedIn for case studies or client testimonials. Inquire about their client base to ensure they handle similar financial situations.

Should I check a CPA’s reviews before hiring?

Yes, reviews provide insight into a CPA’s reliability, communication, and performance. Check platforms like Google, Yelp, or the Better Business Bureau for client feedback. Look for patterns in reviews, but verify their authenticity, as some may be biased or outdated.

How can I verify a CPA’s license?

Visit your state’s Board of Accountancy website or use CPAverify.org to check a CPA’s license status. Confirm their license is active and check for any disciplinary actions or complaints. This ensures they’re in good standing and meet professional standards.

What questions should I ask during a CPA consultation?

Ask about their experience with your financial needs, fee structure, availability, and communication style. Inquire how they handle tax filings, audits, or financial planning. Ask for references or examples of similar work to assess their expertise and fit.

How much should I expect to pay for a CPA’s services?

Fees vary based on location, services, and complexity. Basic tax preparation may cost $150-$500, while business accounting or audits can range from $1,000 to $10,000+. Request a detailed fee structure upfront and compare quotes from multiple CPAs.

Can I work with a CPA remotely?

Yes, many CPAs offer remote services through secure online platforms for document sharing and virtual consultations. Ensure they use encrypted tools for data security. Remote CPAs can be effective if they understand your local tax laws or business regulations.

How do I assess a CPA’s communication skills?

During consultations, evaluate their ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly. Ask sample questions about taxes or financial strategies and note their responsiveness and clarity. Good communication ensures you understand their advice and fosters a productive relationship.

What red flags should I watch for when screening a CPA?

Beware of CPAs who guarantee specific tax refunds, lack a valid license, or have disciplinary actions on record. Avoid those with poor communication, vague fee structures, or negative reviews highlighting unethical behavior. Always verify their credentials independently.

Should I choose a CPA from a large firm or a solo practitioner?

Large firms offer more resources and specialized teams but may charge higher fees. Solo practitioners often provide personalized service and lower costs but may have limited availability. Choose based on your needs, budget, and preference for personalized attention.

How often should I meet with my CPA?

For individuals, annual meetings for tax preparation may suffice. Businesses may need quarterly or monthly check-ins for bookkeeping, tax planning, or financial reporting. Discuss your needs upfront to establish a meeting schedule that aligns with your financial goals.

Can a CPA help with both personal and business finances?

Yes, many CPAs handle both, but confirm their expertise in both areas. Ask about their experience managing personal taxes and business accounting simultaneously. Ensure they can balance both without compromising attention to your specific financial needs.

What should I do if I’m not satisfied with my CPA?

Discuss concerns directly with your CPA to resolve issues. If unresolved, check your contract for termination terms. Seek a new CPA by researching reviews, credentials, and referrals. Request your financial records to ensure a smooth transition to a new professional.
