Horrendous!? ?DO NOT USE! One of the most unprofessional services I've ever used. Hired them to basically calculate, organize and reconcile one quarter of a year's figures. It took them 93 days constantly procrastinating with no positive results. Zilch!? Poor or nonexistent dialogues with the senior accountant.? He keeps passing the work to junior and very immature and untrained assistants who generated a 1st draft that a 5 year old would have lughed at!? He takes no responsibility himself.? He is unavaila
michael mir- you have the WRONG CPA firm. please remove... not my firm.... please check your facts before you post things. our firm is amazing. remove your post
I called to inquire about services offered and pricing as I have a new business and need some help. The receptionist blew off my question and immediately told me they wouldn?t be helping me as they?re not accepting new clients. I get it, but there?s a certain decorum we should have over the phone when interacting with other human beings they she was sorely lacking in. Definitely wouldn?t do business here even if they were accepting new clients.
Would be a five-star review based on Cathy's thoroughness once she got to my return. I have no problem waiting, but the lack of communication (no response to emails) left me hanging for two weeks. Also, if she tells you she will get back to you on a certain day, it may not happen for a couple of days thereafter. Tell me how much time you really need. I won't mind.
Had my taxes done here for many years. Always a great experience with professional and caring staff in a convenient & lovely location. Tell Cathy Caldwell that Denise S from Oh & Fl referred you & said she is great.
I have been dealing with this firm for at least 15 years. I have NEVER had a problem. They have always been very kind and caring when I have gone in and had any questions. I have always received my taxes in a timely manner. Brigid has always guided me in the right direction when I have needed any help. She always takes the time to make sure everything is taken care. I would highly recommend using this firm if you need to get your taxes done. You will not be disappointed.
I don't know where to begin my review of this company, every person from the owners down to the receptionist at the front desk has a huge smile on their face and are always more than happy to help no matter how tough the problem may seem to be. They are through, efficient, professional, thoughtful, reasonably priced and VERY good at what they do. Whether it's for personal or corporate taxes these ladies can handle anything and will surpass your expectations of what a CPA is.
I am exceedingly happy with the expertise and service I receive at Soldavini and Caldwell. Brigid and Annette give great attention to my needs, saving me both time and money in my business as well as my personal accounting management. The whole team makes me feel welcome!!
I had appointed Cathy Caldwell to deal with a tax issue and at our first meeting I pointed out that I was recovering from a stroke, and was based in the UK so is extremely important, particularly in the light of her bad reviews, to answer my queries promptly and keep me abreast of events. She did neither to the point where I had to let go. I wouldn't waste your time and money.
Soldavini & Caldwell have been preparing my payroll, corporate, and personal tax returns for several years now. The staff is extremely professional, competent, thorough, and even funny on some occasions. Sometimes I get the impression they drink too much coffee during the day, but as long as they keep taking care of me and my business, I'm staying with S&C!
Not taking new clients right now 10/03/23. Rating not reflecting any service only for feedback.

Look for a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license, which ensures they’ve passed rigorous exams and meet state requirements. Check for relevant experience in your industry, additional certifications like CFA or CMA, and membership in professional organizations like the AICPA. Verify their credentials through state licensing boards.
Use online directories like the AICPA, CPAverify, or state CPA societies. Search platforms like Yelp or Google for local CPAs with reviews. Ask for referrals from business associates, friends, or financial advisors. Local chambers of commerce can also provide recommendations.
A CPA is a licensed professional who has passed the CPA exam and met state requirements for education and experience. An accountant may lack this certification and could have varying levels of expertise. For complex tasks like tax audits or financial reporting, a CPA is typically more qualified.
Ask about their experience with your specific financial needs, such as tax preparation, small business accounting, or estate planning. Review their website or LinkedIn for case studies or client testimonials. Inquire about their client base to ensure they handle similar financial situations.
Yes, reviews provide insight into a CPA’s reliability, communication, and performance. Check platforms like Google, Yelp, or the Better Business Bureau for client feedback. Look for patterns in reviews, but verify their authenticity, as some may be biased or outdated.
Visit your state’s Board of Accountancy website or use CPAverify.org to check a CPA’s license status. Confirm their license is active and check for any disciplinary actions or complaints. This ensures they’re in good standing and meet professional standards.
Ask about their experience with your financial needs, fee structure, availability, and communication style. Inquire how they handle tax filings, audits, or financial planning. Ask for references or examples of similar work to assess their expertise and fit.
Fees vary based on location, services, and complexity. Basic tax preparation may cost $150-$500, while business accounting or audits can range from $1,000 to $10,000+. Request a detailed fee structure upfront and compare quotes from multiple CPAs.
Yes, many CPAs offer remote services through secure online platforms for document sharing and virtual consultations. Ensure they use encrypted tools for data security. Remote CPAs can be effective if they understand your local tax laws or business regulations.
During consultations, evaluate their ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly. Ask sample questions about taxes or financial strategies and note their responsiveness and clarity. Good communication ensures you understand their advice and fosters a productive relationship.
Beware of CPAs who guarantee specific tax refunds, lack a valid license, or have disciplinary actions on record. Avoid those with poor communication, vague fee structures, or negative reviews highlighting unethical behavior. Always verify their credentials independently.
Large firms offer more resources and specialized teams but may charge higher fees. Solo practitioners often provide personalized service and lower costs but may have limited availability. Choose based on your needs, budget, and preference for personalized attention.
For individuals, annual meetings for tax preparation may suffice. Businesses may need quarterly or monthly check-ins for bookkeeping, tax planning, or financial reporting. Discuss your needs upfront to establish a meeting schedule that aligns with your financial goals.
Yes, many CPAs handle both, but confirm their expertise in both areas. Ask about their experience managing personal taxes and business accounting simultaneously. Ensure they can balance both without compromising attention to your specific financial needs.
Discuss concerns directly with your CPA to resolve issues. If unresolved, check your contract for termination terms. Seek a new CPA by researching reviews, credentials, and referrals. Request your financial records to ensure a smooth transition to a new professional.
