Absolutely AWFUL experience this year. We have been going to Tax Depot for years and never had an experience like this. We submitted our taxes on February 24th and did not get them back until April 15. We had to send multiple emails asking where they were in the process. They did not even start our return until April 14th. We would have our taxes completed within 2-3 weeks in the past. Taking over 6 weeks with no communication unless we sent an email is horrible service. Plus, the fees increased this
Lack of communication and lackluster service. Year after year they seem to fall further behind. 50 days just to come pick my folder up untouched to file myself.
My small business and household are thriving because of the work Toni and his team at Tax Depot have done for me. When you meet with Toni to go over your return, his advice alone is worth the money you pay. He educates you and gives you all the information you need to tackle each year. I went to Toni and the team because I needed a company that could help my business grow and Toni and his team did just that. I have since recommended all my friends and family to Toni since I first started going to him in 2
Great prompt and professional service. I had used a tax program for years, but after several issues I shifted based on a recommendation to Tax Depot. What a difference. They corrected several years of the tax program issues either getting me a refund or greatly reducing my liability. For each year's return, they have really worked to minimize my liabilities and fully explained their methodology. Really glad I shifted to them.
Tax Depot LLC has been very helpful with all of my accounting needs! I own an LLC and tax time can be stressful but with the help of the Tax Depot team, everything seems easy! Special thanks to Mark D. for the introduction to the business and Breanna that works in the office, she has made the transition painless! High recommended!
I was very worried about taxes this year as my husband and I had many changes that can cause tax issues....but Tony calmed my nerves and helped us get everything together and it turned out much better than anticipated. Their service was quick and efficient and we will definitely be back next year!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!
I can't say enough about Tax Depot. I've been a client for 3 years now and as a small business owner AND a W2 Employee-- they've been a life saver! Very knowledgeable and incredibly helpful. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
I was in serious trouble (with the bank & IRS) on a rental property gone bad. Long story short they found a way to get me out of the quick sand free and clear with something called insolvency. I tried several other places before this with "sorry we can't do anything for you". I've been with them for 3 years now and will do so for life. Very friendly and professional staff!
Great experience! I had my taxes prepared here for my husband and me. Mr. D (accountant) made us feel very comfortable and welcomed. Beautiful building and professional staff. I highly recommend!!!!!
Tony and the team have been great for both personal and business tax work. Tony was also helpful on numerous occasions when I needed extra guidance.
Tony, Laura and the rest of the team at Tax Depot have been great to work with for our Business and Personal Tax and Accounting needs!!
Fantastic and friendly staff with Profesionalism, Diligence and Accuracy. I've had them as my accountant for years now and refer them quickly and willingly.
They work for the IRS and not you. No enthusiasm to try to save you money. Better off with turbo tax.
Tony and the team are awesome!! Tony has always been right there for me. Love the new location!!
LOVE LOVE LOVE this Tax Preparer. Quick, efficient, friendly, helpful...all around AWESOME!
I get my taxes done quickly and always satisfied
Great folks. Accurate work. Who could ask for more...highly recommended.
Fast, friendly and efficient. Above all, the best at what they do!
Look for a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license, which ensures they’ve passed rigorous exams and meet state requirements. Check for relevant experience in your industry, additional certifications like CFA or CMA, and membership in professional organizations like the AICPA. Verify their credentials through state licensing boards.
Use online directories like the AICPA, CPAverify, or state CPA societies. Search platforms like Yelp or Google for local CPAs with reviews. Ask for referrals from business associates, friends, or financial advisors. Local chambers of commerce can also provide recommendations.
A CPA is a licensed professional who has passed the CPA exam and met state requirements for education and experience. An accountant may lack this certification and could have varying levels of expertise. For complex tasks like tax audits or financial reporting, a CPA is typically more qualified.
Ask about their experience with your specific financial needs, such as tax preparation, small business accounting, or estate planning. Review their website or LinkedIn for case studies or client testimonials. Inquire about their client base to ensure they handle similar financial situations.
Yes, reviews provide insight into a CPA’s reliability, communication, and performance. Check platforms like Google, Yelp, or the Better Business Bureau for client feedback. Look for patterns in reviews, but verify their authenticity, as some may be biased or outdated.
Visit your state’s Board of Accountancy website or use CPAverify.org to check a CPA’s license status. Confirm their license is active and check for any disciplinary actions or complaints. This ensures they’re in good standing and meet professional standards.
Ask about their experience with your financial needs, fee structure, availability, and communication style. Inquire how they handle tax filings, audits, or financial planning. Ask for references or examples of similar work to assess their expertise and fit.
Fees vary based on location, services, and complexity. Basic tax preparation may cost $150-$500, while business accounting or audits can range from $1,000 to $10,000+. Request a detailed fee structure upfront and compare quotes from multiple CPAs.
Yes, many CPAs offer remote services through secure online platforms for document sharing and virtual consultations. Ensure they use encrypted tools for data security. Remote CPAs can be effective if they understand your local tax laws or business regulations.
During consultations, evaluate their ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly. Ask sample questions about taxes or financial strategies and note their responsiveness and clarity. Good communication ensures you understand their advice and fosters a productive relationship.
Beware of CPAs who guarantee specific tax refunds, lack a valid license, or have disciplinary actions on record. Avoid those with poor communication, vague fee structures, or negative reviews highlighting unethical behavior. Always verify their credentials independently.
Large firms offer more resources and specialized teams but may charge higher fees. Solo practitioners often provide personalized service and lower costs but may have limited availability. Choose based on your needs, budget, and preference for personalized attention.
For individuals, annual meetings for tax preparation may suffice. Businesses may need quarterly or monthly check-ins for bookkeeping, tax planning, or financial reporting. Discuss your needs upfront to establish a meeting schedule that aligns with your financial goals.
Yes, many CPAs handle both, but confirm their expertise in both areas. Ask about their experience managing personal taxes and business accounting simultaneously. Ensure they can balance both without compromising attention to your specific financial needs.
Discuss concerns directly with your CPA to resolve issues. If unresolved, check your contract for termination terms. Seek a new CPA by researching reviews, credentials, and referrals. Request your financial records to ensure a smooth transition to a new professional.
