Customer Reviews

After years of trying to deal with the IRS on my own and getting nowhere I contacted Tax Relief Helpers and I am extremely glad I did. I was connected with Mr. Stephen Thompson and was immediately impressed with how professional and caring he was. Stephen made me feel very comfortable discussing my situation and I knew right away I was in good hands. I explained that my family was going to help me with this battle against the IRS and he had no problem getting on a conference call to explain what Tax Relief

I would stay away from these guys, they are straight up crooked. They insisted on a deposit of $500, Once I paid them a deposit, they changed the original quote to help me of $7,500 to $22,500, after I signed papers to work wit them. Plus they wanted to immediately finance the $22,500 with another guy in their office. Who told me to lie on the financing application and say my income was $12,000 a month to get approved. This is the biggest red flag I could imagine. I am contacting the Attorney General for Ca

At first, I admit I was uneasy about sharing my information. But after several minutes of conversation I felt much more at ease and confident about the process. Mr. Gold was very easygoing and helpful at every point. I now feel like I'm going to get real help in dealing with the IRS. I would recommend Tax Relief Helpers to anyone who has felt the need for direction in how to deal with the IRS and not feel ignored by their workers. We all need support to feel heard.

It was great at first. They really helped to calm my nerves. As time went on, they became completely unresponsive to my phone calls and ignored me!! The only time anyone called me was to charge me more money!!!! Please be careful if you decide to use this company. They will only add to your problems. I am waiting for a full refund because they did nothing to help me. It has been so much easier to deal with the IRS on my own.

I can not say enough great things about this company and the amazing job they do for you. I was dealing with another tax relief company prior to this one and was severely wronged even after 3 years into it and tons of money later. They gave me hope and have done more for me in 5 months then the other company did in 3 years. I would recommend Tax Relief Helpers to anyone. Thank you Alfonso William Nick and the whole team that brought me the most amazing news today. Thank you and much blessings.

After a terrible experience with Adrianna and Optima Tax, which left me more confused and stressed than when I started, I was hesitant to trust any tax company again. I was dealing with a serious tax issue that began after my wife passed away, and it had become too much to handle on my own. Then I spoke with Mr. Parker Morris at Tax Relief Helpers. From our very first conversation, he was patient, understanding, and his expertise immediately put me at ease. He took the time to really listen to my situation

I was in a panic and did not know what I was going to do. I had not filed my taxes and was so embarrassed now that I had done this. I finally took a deep breath and called Tax Helpers and I am so glad I did everyone was reassuring and explained everything so that I understood. I cannot thank everyone enough for helping me through this Thank you Debra Smith

Young man, by the name of Alfonso was very thorough. He listened to my questions. He was polite when I had a question he answered it thoroughly. He explained things in detail and made it very comfortable.

I was very cautious with Tax Relief Helpers by .initially inquiring and then ignoring their phone calls and texts until I finally answered. I had had an experience with another agency, 6 years ago, and they reached an expensive repayment plan which the IRS had already offered me. Almost 25% of my income. And they charged me a lot for this result. Tax Relief Helpers worked hard and thoroughly with me from the beginning and it's only been 2 weeks and I now have some forgiveness on penalties and interest and

My name is Priscilla Stepp and I just used Tax Relief Helpers to aide me in a tax situation I was involved in with the IRS! They were so knowledgeable and understanding! They explained each area as we moved along the process. They provided a team of people to resolve my problem. In turn the company saved me a portion of what I had to pay the IRS. This was a portion of my retirement money on which I'm living. I'm so appreciative! Thank You Tax Relief Helpers!

Very friendly and helpful! Adam Chase doesn't get irritated at my anxiety and crazy talks informative and calmly with me. Really appreciate everything so far they have done!! I look forward to the help with the IRS. I live in NYC!

Hello , the tax relief helpers worked hard to straighten my problems with the IRS . They are the best in the business. They also worked with me on payments for their services. If you ever need help to get out of debt with IRS these are the people you can count on . They are amazing awesome people. I would definitely have them work with me if I ever need their help again.

If you are considering hiring this company for your tax relief options DON'T!! I have been waiting 7 months for my case to settle. They never contact you, you have to call them for updates. Then we you are close you are told that if you have any refunds over the next five years the IRS will take them to pay back the debt owed. If that was going to happen, why on earth do you need to pay them. This tax season I lost out on $8500.00. Total SCAM!

BEWARE** if I could rate this company zero stars out of five I would but since I physically cannot, they will get one star. They scammed me out of $7500, for the past eight months I've been dealing with these ? tax relief helpers? but in the entirety of that eight months, my account has been levy?d TWICE - I've NEVER spoke to my actual attorney - only the assistants, my case is nowhere near resolved & they never contact me first - I always have to call for an update. Do not hire this company you will 100

I would like to take a few minutes to express how the Tax Relief Helpers organization has been a god send for me. In today?s environment of people that take advantage of consumers, i feel very fortunate to have become associated with an organization that goes above and beyond to help consumers in my case. I have had the privilege of directly working with Don Moss and Jordan Davis. I felt totally lost and had no hope of solving my tax problem. These gentlemen walked me through a process of resolving thi

Worst experience. Took 7.200 dollars from me and did nothing. Within 1 week said it's would settle for 15.000 then went to 13000 then 10.000 .Then said if I didn't give them 7,500 I would owe the full amount. Talked 2 other companies and tax lawyers takes months and months for its to finalize payment plan. They are scams and I called BBB and attorney General .Talked to William Chase and he just laughed saying I paid 7.200 for them filling my tax returns that the irs never got. It's a scam com

This Tax Relief Helpers are awesome. I have been dealing with tax issues for years and other tax groups promised to help but only helped themselves to more of my money with no results just empty promises. Susan is one of the kindest and trustworthy person I have ever met. She made me feel that all hope wasn't lost and she could help, and she did in a great way. Don't give up call Tax Relief Helpers they will stick around and truly help.

One kind of wonders if this kind of business is legit. Well I sought their help with a dire tax situation. I really didn't know how to deal with it myself. I paid a fee and they got the information they needed from me. They took it from there and took care of tax returns immediately. But there was something even more dire and complicated. It was crucial I get it cleared up. My contact and case manager was Art Lukas. I contacted (bugged) him incessantly and he directed me to the appropriate individua

Frequently Asked Questions

What qualifications should I look for in a CPA?

Look for a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license, which ensures they’ve passed rigorous exams and meet state requirements. Check for relevant experience in your industry, additional certifications like CFA or CMA, and membership in professional organizations like the AICPA. Verify their credentials through state licensing boards.

How do I find a CPA in my area?

Use online directories like the AICPA, CPAverify, or state CPA societies. Search platforms like Yelp or Google for local CPAs with reviews. Ask for referrals from business associates, friends, or financial advisors. Local chambers of commerce can also provide recommendations.

What’s the difference between a CPA and an accountant?

A CPA is a licensed professional who has passed the CPA exam and met state requirements for education and experience. An accountant may lack this certification and could have varying levels of expertise. For complex tasks like tax audits or financial reporting, a CPA is typically more qualified.

How do I know if a CPA specializes in my needs?

Ask about their experience with your specific financial needs, such as tax preparation, small business accounting, or estate planning. Review their website or LinkedIn for case studies or client testimonials. Inquire about their client base to ensure they handle similar financial situations.

Should I check a CPA’s reviews before hiring?

Yes, reviews provide insight into a CPA’s reliability, communication, and performance. Check platforms like Google, Yelp, or the Better Business Bureau for client feedback. Look for patterns in reviews, but verify their authenticity, as some may be biased or outdated.

How can I verify a CPA’s license?

Visit your state’s Board of Accountancy website or use CPAverify.org to check a CPA’s license status. Confirm their license is active and check for any disciplinary actions or complaints. This ensures they’re in good standing and meet professional standards.

What questions should I ask during a CPA consultation?

Ask about their experience with your financial needs, fee structure, availability, and communication style. Inquire how they handle tax filings, audits, or financial planning. Ask for references or examples of similar work to assess their expertise and fit.

How much should I expect to pay for a CPA’s services?

Fees vary based on location, services, and complexity. Basic tax preparation may cost $150-$500, while business accounting or audits can range from $1,000 to $10,000+. Request a detailed fee structure upfront and compare quotes from multiple CPAs.

Can I work with a CPA remotely?

Yes, many CPAs offer remote services through secure online platforms for document sharing and virtual consultations. Ensure they use encrypted tools for data security. Remote CPAs can be effective if they understand your local tax laws or business regulations.

How do I assess a CPA’s communication skills?

During consultations, evaluate their ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly. Ask sample questions about taxes or financial strategies and note their responsiveness and clarity. Good communication ensures you understand their advice and fosters a productive relationship.

What red flags should I watch for when screening a CPA?

Beware of CPAs who guarantee specific tax refunds, lack a valid license, or have disciplinary actions on record. Avoid those with poor communication, vague fee structures, or negative reviews highlighting unethical behavior. Always verify their credentials independently.

Should I choose a CPA from a large firm or a solo practitioner?

Large firms offer more resources and specialized teams but may charge higher fees. Solo practitioners often provide personalized service and lower costs but may have limited availability. Choose based on your needs, budget, and preference for personalized attention.

How often should I meet with my CPA?

For individuals, annual meetings for tax preparation may suffice. Businesses may need quarterly or monthly check-ins for bookkeeping, tax planning, or financial reporting. Discuss your needs upfront to establish a meeting schedule that aligns with your financial goals.

Can a CPA help with both personal and business finances?

Yes, many CPAs handle both, but confirm their expertise in both areas. Ask about their experience managing personal taxes and business accounting simultaneously. Ensure they can balance both without compromising attention to your specific financial needs.

What should I do if I’m not satisfied with my CPA?

Discuss concerns directly with your CPA to resolve issues. If unresolved, check your contract for termination terms. Seek a new CPA by researching reviews, credentials, and referrals. Request your financial records to ensure a smooth transition to a new professional.
