My name is Renee Pace, and I am 62 years old. I have been self-employed for 34 years and had the same accountant since I was eighteen. Due to lack of support from our prior accountant of 54 years we made a switch to The Hall of Tax. I cannot express the relief and support both my husband and I have received from Alex Hall and his team. Coming from a self-employed background and running a successful company, I know the importance of customer service. I was super nervous to make the change but knew it wa
I have been working with Alex and his team since I started my private practice. He has been very accessible whenever I needed something or had a question. His team is great at communicating and taking care of the financial side of my business so I can focus on doing what I love - being a therapist. His work is thorough, knowledgeable, straightforward, and trustworthy. He also has great advice on how to reduce taxes or build your business and offers a variety of services. Very friendly and professional.
ALEX HALL came highly recommended by our financial advisor. In our first year he spotted a rather obtuse investment notation that saved us $7,000. I doubt few would have noticed it. His charges are more than reasonable. ALEX clearly knows his business. He is efficient, personable, and has, perhaps, the best attribute of all---A good attitude! He and HEATHER have become our good friends. I highly recommend ALEX and "The Hall of Tax" as a firm of trust and responsibility.
Fabulous tax, accounting expertise and customer services at really good value. A local business I am proud to support.
When our previous accountant sold to corporate America. It was time to find someone new. Alex was recommended by our financial advisor and others. We weren't disappointed. He and his staff are all quite personable and ready to answer any questions throughout the year. They also have a great working relationship with our financial advisor. That's a big plus right there.
Alex was a breath of fresh air for my business after drowning in incorrect books for years. He helped us fix mistakes made by numerous book keepers and taught my Office Manager all she needs to know to do the book keeping in Quickbooks so that taxes won't be so arduous again next year! We can call him any time and he is happy to answer even silly questions that we SHOULD know, but doesn't judge one bit. I even decided to have him do my own personal taxes. Best of all, his prices are totally reasonable. I
I have no idea what I would have done without Alex! He did the taxes and helped clean our books for the business I work at. Our book keeper up and left suddenly, and I had NO IDEA what I was doing. He sat down with me and taught me the basics of Quickbooks that I had missed in the videos, and I can call him with one-off questions and he is more than happy to answer them or find the answer if he doesn't know them! His prices are also not outrageous - totally reasonable! Love the Hall of Tax!!
I highly recommend this Family Owned Business for any Tax needs. Alex and Heather are kind, knowledgeable, and extremely helpful. They take their time with each client and ensure people get the necessary information. I highly recommend them.
I highly reccomend this company, if I could offer higher than a 5 star rating I would be pleased to do so. Communication with Alex is amazing, he goes above and beyond to help me understand the process in what he does. I trust Alex with all of my personal information, I would never go anywhere else, and will continue to reccomend his services to everyone who is looking for an expert in tax needs.
The Hall of Tax team is great!! Family oriented, professional, but extremely personable! They have your best interest in mind and will always go above and beyond for you no matter what. I won't go anywhere else!
The team at The Hall of Tax is a pleasure to work with. The things that most important to me when working with an accounting firm is that they have got to have great attention to detail, file everything correctly and provide strategies to reduce my tax liability. Not only do they accomplish these three things, they are fun to work with as well.
Hall of Tax is a key element to the success of my business. Every question I have no matter how simple is answered. Cannot imagine running a business without their help.
Alex and Heather go the extra mile for all their clients. We couldn't be happier with the services they provide our personal and construction business, Cj's Siding Pros LLC, needs.
Alex is amazing and always comes through for my clients. His service is top notch and he is truly a master at his craft.
The Hall Of Tax takes the stress out of doing your taxes and bookkeeping! They are great at explaining things and being a true partner to your business.
Alex is great to work with, well informed and is always available for questions. Helped us get our business back on track.
Highly recommend! Fantastic service and accurate. Accuracy is very important when it comes to taxes :0)
Best book keeper and tax Professionals in Whatcom. Thanks Alex.
Alex and Heather go above and beyond to answer ALL of our questions!
Look for a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license, which ensures they’ve passed rigorous exams and meet state requirements. Check for relevant experience in your industry, additional certifications like CFA or CMA, and membership in professional organizations like the AICPA. Verify their credentials through state licensing boards.
Use online directories like the AICPA, CPAverify, or state CPA societies. Search platforms like Yelp or Google for local CPAs with reviews. Ask for referrals from business associates, friends, or financial advisors. Local chambers of commerce can also provide recommendations.
A CPA is a licensed professional who has passed the CPA exam and met state requirements for education and experience. An accountant may lack this certification and could have varying levels of expertise. For complex tasks like tax audits or financial reporting, a CPA is typically more qualified.
Ask about their experience with your specific financial needs, such as tax preparation, small business accounting, or estate planning. Review their website or LinkedIn for case studies or client testimonials. Inquire about their client base to ensure they handle similar financial situations.
Yes, reviews provide insight into a CPA’s reliability, communication, and performance. Check platforms like Google, Yelp, or the Better Business Bureau for client feedback. Look for patterns in reviews, but verify their authenticity, as some may be biased or outdated.
Visit your state’s Board of Accountancy website or use CPAverify.org to check a CPA’s license status. Confirm their license is active and check for any disciplinary actions or complaints. This ensures they’re in good standing and meet professional standards.
Ask about their experience with your financial needs, fee structure, availability, and communication style. Inquire how they handle tax filings, audits, or financial planning. Ask for references or examples of similar work to assess their expertise and fit.
Fees vary based on location, services, and complexity. Basic tax preparation may cost $150-$500, while business accounting or audits can range from $1,000 to $10,000+. Request a detailed fee structure upfront and compare quotes from multiple CPAs.
Yes, many CPAs offer remote services through secure online platforms for document sharing and virtual consultations. Ensure they use encrypted tools for data security. Remote CPAs can be effective if they understand your local tax laws or business regulations.
During consultations, evaluate their ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly. Ask sample questions about taxes or financial strategies and note their responsiveness and clarity. Good communication ensures you understand their advice and fosters a productive relationship.
Beware of CPAs who guarantee specific tax refunds, lack a valid license, or have disciplinary actions on record. Avoid those with poor communication, vague fee structures, or negative reviews highlighting unethical behavior. Always verify their credentials independently.
Large firms offer more resources and specialized teams but may charge higher fees. Solo practitioners often provide personalized service and lower costs but may have limited availability. Choose based on your needs, budget, and preference for personalized attention.
For individuals, annual meetings for tax preparation may suffice. Businesses may need quarterly or monthly check-ins for bookkeeping, tax planning, or financial reporting. Discuss your needs upfront to establish a meeting schedule that aligns with your financial goals.
Yes, many CPAs handle both, but confirm their expertise in both areas. Ask about their experience managing personal taxes and business accounting simultaneously. Ensure they can balance both without compromising attention to your specific financial needs.
Discuss concerns directly with your CPA to resolve issues. If unresolved, check your contract for termination terms. Seek a new CPA by researching reviews, credentials, and referrals. Request your financial records to ensure a smooth transition to a new professional.
