I have done business with the Holliman group for years. Bob is very knowledgable about tax laws and has been a great tax advisor for my family. In addition to helping me, I have also recommended his services to several businesses in town. His experience and qualifications in business tax law is by far superior than most and he remains a reliable source of information for me and others. Bob is straightforward about things and very easy to work with. I have 100% confidence in his abilities and would reco
We have been clients of the The Holliman Group for the past 3 years. Every interaction we have had with the company has exceeded our expectations. Not only is the tax filing process very efficient and thorough, the team is very professional and timely with their communications. The Holliman Group?s knowledge of tax law is quite comprehensive ensuring that we not only get every benefit we are entitled, but that we are protected from questionable deduction schemes that could yield negative consequences in
The Holliman Group is a professional and proficient accounting firm. It is always a pleasure working with the staff because they have a way of making you feel like you're part of the family! The firm is very knowledgeable, organized and efficient. Not only is Mr. Holliman a knowledgeable accountant, but his love and passion for clients and their financials is evident! I have had the pleasure of using The Holliman Group for several years now and I have been nothing but impressed with Bob and his staff. They have been nothing but professional and have always offered great advice as well. Their knowledge of tax codes and laws is unsurpassed. If you are looking for honest, straight-forward accounting, The Holliman Group are your people.
The Holliman Group was a much needed assistance for my husband and our business. The hollliman group's knowledge of tax laws saved our business and our family is very appreciative. Bob was straight forward with how much we needed to pay and compared to other CPA's that we were shopping with, the price was reasonable. We were very pleased with this company and the knowledge this group provided.
The Holliman Group is the only accounting firm I would ever use. They have done my taxes for so many years I can't even remember how long it has been. I am always more than satisfied, because I know Bob is the most honest person I know and would never steer anybody in the wrong direction.I love having an accountant that I can trust! I would NEVER use another accounting firm...This is the best!!
Not only do I still get my taxes done by The Holliman Group, but I have had the privilege of working under Bob Holliman and his team for a short while and I can hands down say that The Holliman Group is an excellent establishment for all of your business and tax related needs. Very friendly, yet professional. Timely and willing to help whenever I needed assistance. Five stars all around!
I have been a client of the Holliman Group for more years than I can remember. My husband and I used Bob and were very satisfied with his knowledge and service. After my husband passed away I had no reason to change accountants since Bob has given me helpful advice at a fair price. I appreciate the fact that Bob is a Christian and is very ethical in everything he has done for me.
We have been a client of The Holliman Group for the past 3 1/2 years. We have always found the staff to be very professional in everything they do, well beyond our expectations. The Holliman Group is always accessible whenever we have questions or even need to meet in person when necessary. I would recommend the Holliman Group to anyone.
Bob has been my accountant for the past 30 years and never has steered me wrong! We all make mistakes but Bob is quick to review and adjust accordingly. His charges have been more than fair after looking at charges of other accountants. Bob is a strong Christian man and always strives to do what is right. Bob has helped me get through some tough times both financially and personally. The more organized we present our information, the better job he can do for us.
The best accountant in Mobile! Always in depth. Mr. Holliman is the most respectful person I?ve met. He engages in conversation and actually cares about what you tell him. He is awesome! No need to look any further!
My husband and I have been working with Bob Holliman for over 20 years. He has seen us through many life changes and has always done an excellent job for us. I highly recommend The Holliman Group.
BEWARE. You're better off using TurboTax. My family has used him for years. They found another accountant (good move) but I stayed (aka, dropped off needed information you could just as easily plug into Turbotax for $150 a year). He screwed up my 2009 taxes (an error *I* found but was quickly fixed..no problem. We all make mistakes. So, idiotically, I went back). Bob's knowledge of current tax and IRS rules are questionable along with his organizational skills. considering he also told me he didn't have my
Mr. Holliman is very approachable and easy to talk to. He answered all of my questions regarding complicated tax issues in a way that I could understand. I highly recommend him as a CPA.
Bob has been my CPA for well over a decade and he has done a great job for my family. I would highly recommend using Bob for your tax services.
The owner Robert apparently likes to hack into Facebook accounts and steal money from people. Happened to us and we don?t even know guy! Watch out because he?s extremely shady and not professional
Look for a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license, which ensures they’ve passed rigorous exams and meet state requirements. Check for relevant experience in your industry, additional certifications like CFA or CMA, and membership in professional organizations like the AICPA. Verify their credentials through state licensing boards.
Use online directories like the AICPA, CPAverify, or state CPA societies. Search platforms like Yelp or Google for local CPAs with reviews. Ask for referrals from business associates, friends, or financial advisors. Local chambers of commerce can also provide recommendations.
A CPA is a licensed professional who has passed the CPA exam and met state requirements for education and experience. An accountant may lack this certification and could have varying levels of expertise. For complex tasks like tax audits or financial reporting, a CPA is typically more qualified.
Ask about their experience with your specific financial needs, such as tax preparation, small business accounting, or estate planning. Review their website or LinkedIn for case studies or client testimonials. Inquire about their client base to ensure they handle similar financial situations.
Yes, reviews provide insight into a CPA’s reliability, communication, and performance. Check platforms like Google, Yelp, or the Better Business Bureau for client feedback. Look for patterns in reviews, but verify their authenticity, as some may be biased or outdated.
Visit your state’s Board of Accountancy website or use CPAverify.org to check a CPA’s license status. Confirm their license is active and check for any disciplinary actions or complaints. This ensures they’re in good standing and meet professional standards.
Ask about their experience with your financial needs, fee structure, availability, and communication style. Inquire how they handle tax filings, audits, or financial planning. Ask for references or examples of similar work to assess their expertise and fit.
Fees vary based on location, services, and complexity. Basic tax preparation may cost $150-$500, while business accounting or audits can range from $1,000 to $10,000+. Request a detailed fee structure upfront and compare quotes from multiple CPAs.
Yes, many CPAs offer remote services through secure online platforms for document sharing and virtual consultations. Ensure they use encrypted tools for data security. Remote CPAs can be effective if they understand your local tax laws or business regulations.
During consultations, evaluate their ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly. Ask sample questions about taxes or financial strategies and note their responsiveness and clarity. Good communication ensures you understand their advice and fosters a productive relationship.
Beware of CPAs who guarantee specific tax refunds, lack a valid license, or have disciplinary actions on record. Avoid those with poor communication, vague fee structures, or negative reviews highlighting unethical behavior. Always verify their credentials independently.
Large firms offer more resources and specialized teams but may charge higher fees. Solo practitioners often provide personalized service and lower costs but may have limited availability. Choose based on your needs, budget, and preference for personalized attention.
For individuals, annual meetings for tax preparation may suffice. Businesses may need quarterly or monthly check-ins for bookkeeping, tax planning, or financial reporting. Discuss your needs upfront to establish a meeting schedule that aligns with your financial goals.
Yes, many CPAs handle both, but confirm their expertise in both areas. Ask about their experience managing personal taxes and business accounting simultaneously. Ensure they can balance both without compromising attention to your specific financial needs.
Discuss concerns directly with your CPA to resolve issues. If unresolved, check your contract for termination terms. Seek a new CPA by researching reviews, credentials, and referrals. Request your financial records to ensure a smooth transition to a new professional.
