Horrible! Told me to come in Monday, today to do my taxes instead of the weekend since the weekend was busy for them. So I respected that and come in today at 1pm. the lady just tells me I can't do my taxes today. She wants me to come back tomorrow. The deadline. That the list is long and people should come before a certain time. I came in at 1. They close at 7? No one told me to come at a certain time , just to come Monday for a walk in. Wouldn't recommend. 0/10

I wanted to love this place. I've been doing my taxes here for years and never had any issues, however, I recently called to request a copy of some tax form copies, the girl said ?I'll email you and you'll just need to respond to that email? so I thought it would be easy breezy. This was on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday there was no follow up!!!!! Then on Friday I had to call as I still hadn't recovered any documents and they still hadn't even seen the email!!!! She said she would get right on it

My husband and I have been filing our taxes with Vegas Tax services since 2009!! Mr Vega is very knowledgeable and we have never had an issue with the IRS!! We are for life clients!! Highly recommend if you never want to run into issue with the IRS! Also, plan to clear your morning or afternoon because he's high demand in tax season, you will be waiting!

I have been using this office for my tax services for several years. Staff is professional and friendly.

Hadn't had the chance to rate them but i been coming here since 2015. His return estimate was the same as H&R block, haven't looked back since. His prices for service are more than reasonable. Mr. Vega and staff are great at what they do and have become like family. They have earned my buisness and trust. Thank you for the great service every year.

The staff is very unprofessional and we called to make and appointment to see Mr. Vega and they said said no appointment need it. So, my husband and I show up and tell us that Mr. Vega isn't accepting no more people on that day ....what a waste of time especially that we are coming from long distance drive. You guys need to stop wasting people time. We have a really tight schedule. Only thing we go there just to do are taxes with Mr. Vega he is an awesome service to us. I don't recommend to see someone else

10 years and content to be working with them, great job Team!

This year I didn't want to pay an outrageous amount to get my tax return filed. Lucky for me I did some searching around and found Vega's Tax Services. I was not disappointed. Their prices are fair and reasonable (they have a flat rate fee for most of their services). I paid under $100 for everything including Schedule E. Other places were quoting me anywhere from $180-$400 (crazy). Roxanna was very friendly and most important...knowledgable. I definitely recommend going there!

My husband and I have been coming here for several years now. Never had an issue with service or staff. Mr. Vega takes the time to explain, ask questions and give suggestions to help your tax situation. It's a small office but if you plan in advance and be prepared you should not have an issue or problem waiting.

I would give this place 10 stars. The staff the unbelievable polite and efficient. Mr. Vega is knowledgeable and I could always count on him to help me with any issues.

Vega messed up on my taxes last year 2021 and this year.. I would recommend going other places before coming here. I also got two letters from the irs saying 1) you filed that I made over 100k 2019 and 2) you can't just file taxes to get a stimulus which you did bc you went against the law and withheld tax information to do so if you recall which I still have the original w-2 forms

Came here 4 months ago for my girlfriends taxes. It was cheap but for the first time ever, her taxes didn't process correctly. To this date, 6-25-22 she is still waiting for her refund . Never had a problem with her taxes until we came here. And when we called them, they couldn't help with anything. Terrible experience.

Happy 20th Anniversary to Vegas Tax Services & hopefully more years into the future. I remember when they opened back in the mid 1990s. My family were probably the first customers. It grew from a small office with two tax preparers to a full staff office. Roberto Vegas staff are very knowledgeable in tax laws and always courteous & professional. Even though we no longer live in Pomona we have been loyal customers for a long time. This is best tax service office in the Greater Los Angeles Area & possibly in

Before I was paying $150. Thankfully my mom recommended me this place & I only paid $90 to file my taxes this year. Reasonable prices very happy of this place and supper friendly staff. Recommend!

Honestly speaking, unprofessional. I'm a new customer and I have 1099, they don't even ask my expense and the health insurance 1095, I was told I need to call my insurance to get the final premium. I was charged $10 for the service.

He's been doing my taxes and my parents taxes for 20 years. Staff is professional and knowledgeable. I highly recommend

Frequently Asked Questions

What qualifications should I look for in a CPA?

Look for a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license, which ensures they’ve passed rigorous exams and meet state requirements. Check for relevant experience in your industry, additional certifications like CFA or CMA, and membership in professional organizations like the AICPA. Verify their credentials through state licensing boards.

How do I find a CPA in my area?

Use online directories like the AICPA, CPAverify, or state CPA societies. Search platforms like Yelp or Google for local CPAs with reviews. Ask for referrals from business associates, friends, or financial advisors. Local chambers of commerce can also provide recommendations.

What’s the difference between a CPA and an accountant?

A CPA is a licensed professional who has passed the CPA exam and met state requirements for education and experience. An accountant may lack this certification and could have varying levels of expertise. For complex tasks like tax audits or financial reporting, a CPA is typically more qualified.

How do I know if a CPA specializes in my needs?

Ask about their experience with your specific financial needs, such as tax preparation, small business accounting, or estate planning. Review their website or LinkedIn for case studies or client testimonials. Inquire about their client base to ensure they handle similar financial situations.

Should I check a CPA’s reviews before hiring?

Yes, reviews provide insight into a CPA’s reliability, communication, and performance. Check platforms like Google, Yelp, or the Better Business Bureau for client feedback. Look for patterns in reviews, but verify their authenticity, as some may be biased or outdated.

How can I verify a CPA’s license?

Visit your state’s Board of Accountancy website or use CPAverify.org to check a CPA’s license status. Confirm their license is active and check for any disciplinary actions or complaints. This ensures they’re in good standing and meet professional standards.

What questions should I ask during a CPA consultation?

Ask about their experience with your financial needs, fee structure, availability, and communication style. Inquire how they handle tax filings, audits, or financial planning. Ask for references or examples of similar work to assess their expertise and fit.

How much should I expect to pay for a CPA’s services?

Fees vary based on location, services, and complexity. Basic tax preparation may cost $150-$500, while business accounting or audits can range from $1,000 to $10,000+. Request a detailed fee structure upfront and compare quotes from multiple CPAs.

Can I work with a CPA remotely?

Yes, many CPAs offer remote services through secure online platforms for document sharing and virtual consultations. Ensure they use encrypted tools for data security. Remote CPAs can be effective if they understand your local tax laws or business regulations.

How do I assess a CPA’s communication skills?

During consultations, evaluate their ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly. Ask sample questions about taxes or financial strategies and note their responsiveness and clarity. Good communication ensures you understand their advice and fosters a productive relationship.

What red flags should I watch for when screening a CPA?

Beware of CPAs who guarantee specific tax refunds, lack a valid license, or have disciplinary actions on record. Avoid those with poor communication, vague fee structures, or negative reviews highlighting unethical behavior. Always verify their credentials independently.

Should I choose a CPA from a large firm or a solo practitioner?

Large firms offer more resources and specialized teams but may charge higher fees. Solo practitioners often provide personalized service and lower costs but may have limited availability. Choose based on your needs, budget, and preference for personalized attention.

How often should I meet with my CPA?

For individuals, annual meetings for tax preparation may suffice. Businesses may need quarterly or monthly check-ins for bookkeeping, tax planning, or financial reporting. Discuss your needs upfront to establish a meeting schedule that aligns with your financial goals.

Can a CPA help with both personal and business finances?

Yes, many CPAs handle both, but confirm their expertise in both areas. Ask about their experience managing personal taxes and business accounting simultaneously. Ensure they can balance both without compromising attention to your specific financial needs.

What should I do if I’m not satisfied with my CPA?

Discuss concerns directly with your CPA to resolve issues. If unresolved, check your contract for termination terms. Seek a new CPA by researching reviews, credentials, and referrals. Request your financial records to ensure a smooth transition to a new professional.
