One of the worst experiences I've encountered. We took our paperwork down to the office personally for my mom's estate and our own taxes. We called after three weeks since we'd expected that they were finished by that time and were informed Zwieg and Associates lost our paperwork! There was no ownership of the error: We were told THIS NEVER HAPPENS (but it did) Next, they insisted we'd gone downstairs to another CPA office (we had not) and then telling us that b/c we brought them in a manilla folder vs. an
We've been working with Jacqueline for 4 years now and she handles all our books from day one of starting our business. I must say she's been amazing to work with and super helpful on the business and personal side as well. Thank you Jackie for all your hard work. Highly recommend for business and personal!
They have been doing my small business and personal taxes for at least 10+ years. Debbie Campos is exceptional in her knowledge, and communicating. I've been a small business owner for 40 years and I wish I'd found them sooner. I highly recommend David Zweig & Associates.
Jackie has been doing my Personal & Business taxes for years, I've used several others in the past and will never go to another consultant besides her. She's knowledgeable has a flexible schedule and knows tax law. Thanks Jackie for all your hard work over the years.
Oh good! I get to review them first!!! I have been thrilled with Ken Lorin as my accountant for the last several years! He has been an asset to us and does both our personal and corporate taxes. He is super knowledgeable, very efficient and professional. I always come into his office a bundle of nerves and leave a happy camper. I'm not going to say he makes tax time fun but he does his best to make it easier. His fees are extremely affordable. I am very organized and do a lot of the work on Quickbooks
Jacqueline has been doing my taxes for a few years now. She makes it so easy! She's great about answering my questions, so efficient, extremely qualified and knowledgeable.
Amazing services and great customer service. Helped with all of my issues / questions and also got on the phone directly! Jacqueline is amazing. Have worked with her for 8+ years and will always stay with this firm!
I highly recommend Zweig & Associates to my clients and friends. Jacqueline has done excellent work for me and my clients and is a pleasure to work with. You won't be disappointed working with this group.
The tax services that we receive from Ken Lorin is top notch. He has been doing our taxes for 10 years and my husband and his family for probably another 10 years. I highly recommend "Lorin & Zweig" and their accounting firm.
Enquired with a David Zweig on May 23 regarding my US personal filing while living abroad in Canada with a corporation, finally got a response at 8pm on May 28. Called many times in the interim and got a ton of lip service from his staff. Once I got him on the phone, he stated he could assist with my filing, quoted me and then fully went back on his word, refusing to do the job! Most unprofessional CPA I have ever dealt with, they will string you along in a time sensitive situation. A complete shame to J.R
I've been going to David for many years. He's always very professional and great at doing my taxes. I've recommended him to all my friends and they all go to him as well.
My wife and I have had Jacqueline do our taxes for a couple years now and have had nothing but great experiences. Jacqueline is great at what she does and is very personable and thorough.
Ken and his team have done a superlative job for more years than I can count. I regularly refer my colleagues to Ken. Highly recommended!
This will be the 10th year I've been coming to Zweig and Associates. Ever since the first meeting when they went through my return and corrected all of the mistakes and were able to help me receive more money back, I was convinced that they would be my CPAs.
JZ is amazing. I had a ton of questions and her expertise helped guide me and my financial future. Highly recommend!
Don't bother them during their "busiest season" they have no time for you...
The only place I would ever trust completely with the stress of taxes.. Top notch
Knowledgeable, friend and very efficient. Highly recommended, James
Been a client for 10 years now.
Look for a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license, which ensures they’ve passed rigorous exams and meet state requirements. Check for relevant experience in your industry, additional certifications like CFA or CMA, and membership in professional organizations like the AICPA. Verify their credentials through state licensing boards.
Use online directories like the AICPA, CPAverify, or state CPA societies. Search platforms like Yelp or Google for local CPAs with reviews. Ask for referrals from business associates, friends, or financial advisors. Local chambers of commerce can also provide recommendations.
A CPA is a licensed professional who has passed the CPA exam and met state requirements for education and experience. An accountant may lack this certification and could have varying levels of expertise. For complex tasks like tax audits or financial reporting, a CPA is typically more qualified.
Ask about their experience with your specific financial needs, such as tax preparation, small business accounting, or estate planning. Review their website or LinkedIn for case studies or client testimonials. Inquire about their client base to ensure they handle similar financial situations.
Yes, reviews provide insight into a CPA’s reliability, communication, and performance. Check platforms like Google, Yelp, or the Better Business Bureau for client feedback. Look for patterns in reviews, but verify their authenticity, as some may be biased or outdated.
Visit your state’s Board of Accountancy website or use CPAverify.org to check a CPA’s license status. Confirm their license is active and check for any disciplinary actions or complaints. This ensures they’re in good standing and meet professional standards.
Ask about their experience with your financial needs, fee structure, availability, and communication style. Inquire how they handle tax filings, audits, or financial planning. Ask for references or examples of similar work to assess their expertise and fit.
Fees vary based on location, services, and complexity. Basic tax preparation may cost $150-$500, while business accounting or audits can range from $1,000 to $10,000+. Request a detailed fee structure upfront and compare quotes from multiple CPAs.
Yes, many CPAs offer remote services through secure online platforms for document sharing and virtual consultations. Ensure they use encrypted tools for data security. Remote CPAs can be effective if they understand your local tax laws or business regulations.
During consultations, evaluate their ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly. Ask sample questions about taxes or financial strategies and note their responsiveness and clarity. Good communication ensures you understand their advice and fosters a productive relationship.
Beware of CPAs who guarantee specific tax refunds, lack a valid license, or have disciplinary actions on record. Avoid those with poor communication, vague fee structures, or negative reviews highlighting unethical behavior. Always verify their credentials independently.
Large firms offer more resources and specialized teams but may charge higher fees. Solo practitioners often provide personalized service and lower costs but may have limited availability. Choose based on your needs, budget, and preference for personalized attention.
For individuals, annual meetings for tax preparation may suffice. Businesses may need quarterly or monthly check-ins for bookkeeping, tax planning, or financial reporting. Discuss your needs upfront to establish a meeting schedule that aligns with your financial goals.
Yes, many CPAs handle both, but confirm their expertise in both areas. Ask about their experience managing personal taxes and business accounting simultaneously. Ensure they can balance both without compromising attention to your specific financial needs.
Discuss concerns directly with your CPA to resolve issues. If unresolved, check your contract for termination terms. Seek a new CPA by researching reviews, credentials, and referrals. Request your financial records to ensure a smooth transition to a new professional.
